I used to play this years ago as a kid, love this piece. Ory plays it very clean and with passion but the tempo is a bit sluggish (IMO) and why the liberal use of staccato? The run up in right hand midway through the song should not be played with staccato!
, this guy is amazing, I am learning this piece, but anyone no how to make it sound more Staccato, because I use the damper pedal, but its obivous that it is not Staccato
a severe ceremonial song, pay attention to the staccati of the bass, long live ludwig van, nice performance by this young pianist,he is concentrated,he knows is beethoven what he's playing
RH passages seem too heavy and non-legato for my taste. The performance therefore lost a kind of 'shimering' effect over those RH chromatic passages for me.
Beautiful and moving performance---thankyou for presenting it! I have heard some others here on You Tube race through it with as much feeling as mechanical wind-up toys. I'm learning this movement myself right now---it has a peculiar vitality that makes it a delight to play, somehow. Nice to know it was a favorite of Beethoven's and that he often played it for his own enjoyment. There is nothing else quite like it!
Nice job Ory----

LH could use a bit more legato in some places as well, but he plays it very well overall.

Something really interesting is that it's a love story. The right hand being the female and the left hand being the male - it's pretty amazing!
