  • 6 of spades thing was really good.

  • It is scarry how much experience Youve allready got. You are allready there. COngratualltions. I am gellues.

  • I liked the last card effect

  • You have D. Duvivier's trick. It's really cool and gets amazing reactions! Your performance was nice

  • when using gaff deck dont put to many decks on the table that's why pockets are made for do ur opener than so impromptu tricks than deck switch that why i also have to normal decks and 3 gaff deck invisble deck and two other deck in my own pattern (top secret)

  • rrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaalllllllyyyy liked it. but jeez, that's allota area to work for a close up kinda deal. humgo table

  • LOL thank you! It was a billiards table :).

  • I was there for that! I voted for you!

  • TOO many decks

  • I don't know if you were under time contstraints but you seemed to be going a little fast. I know how that it though. When ever I perform a full act for a group of people I switch into hyperspeed. I actually have to make a concious effort to slow myself down. Great job though. They seemed to like it.

  • Yes, there were time constraints.... as opposed to the 10 minutes we were supposed to be given per table, we only really got 5-6 minutes.

  • I liked it all, except having several decks looks so so so dodgy. In a sit down routine you could perform a deck switch, but it looked like gaff heaven!

  • Im glad you ditched the FAG hat, you look a lot better without it. Nice performance!

  • What kind of competition is this? And every single card effect you did either is a gaffed deck or packet. Where is the reall skill at? Also, your doing and moving way too fast. Slow down some, relax.

  • It's a close-up competition. And no, only half of the effects I used were gaffs. And any effects that had gaffs also used rather difficult sleights to make them work. Don't worry, I didn't just take the easy way out :).

  • And besides, it's the presentation that counts anyway.

  • By the way, I'll take that gaff comment as a compliment considering only half of the effects used gaffs. Besides, it's presentation that matters... the sleights I do are so complex, that in competition with people surrounding my table as they did, it would have been knerve-wracking. Last time I competed my entire act was over-the-top difficult and it didn't turn out as well as I had hoped.

  • @SlickmagicTJ Don't count out gaffs. Many of them still require a fair amount of skill, and his presentation was pretty good. Besides gaffs help to make the spectators experience more magical, and impossible, and that is what we are meant to do as magicians. Unless you are performing "magicians magic" (Magic for magicians) crafty sleight of hand is not always needed, and can sometimes just get in the way of a good performance. This is just my opinion though. I agree he was moving a bit too fast.

  • Well done Mike, some nice novel effects. Just to echo the comments; need to clear up the visual clutter on the table. Clarify the stage picture and remove props which you've finished with. A nice routine and some interesting patter. Congrats on the 2nd place! :)

  • Hey Mike! That was great! Have you ever seen Joshua Jay's Printing routine? It's on volume 2 of close-up, up-close. He starts to get really into it. Check it out.

  • great magic

too many gaffs too many decks

  • you have skill

    use it

  • Thank you! Glad you liked it! Do I know you, by the way?

  • nice Mike, keep up the good work.

  • Loved that last routine *****

  • Way to go, Mike!!

  • Thank you for watching!
