  • Raccoons + Huey Lewis = EPICNESS

  • @7bordello Thank you, I thought this song suited Bert very well. :D

  • Well made!

  • @br4ip Thanks, though personally it could have been better, but there was quite a few limitations I had at the time, so it couldn't be helped. But thanks. :) You may be interested to see some of my Watership Down themed videos. You don't have to, I'm just saying that I made a few. :)

  • @David315842 It's still good though.

  • @br4ip Thanks again. :)

  • I think this was the video you meant, you did a great job emphasizing on Bert and the concert scenes were an excellent touch, Bert actually looks like he's really singing the chorus! Nice job :-)

  • @jconifer7 Actually it was the Run With Us video. This video is OK, I just wished I had more footage of Bert to use, instead of using still images. But thanks for the kind comment. :)

  • @David315842 Oh okay, yeah that was a wonderful video as well, I just happened to take interest in this one just because the song you used was more of an original choice, it's just part of my pop music interests. But anyway, you're welcome :-)

  • @jconifer7 LOL, Well making a video set to the show's theme song, which in itself is a New Wave song, seemed to be the logical thing to do. Especially since the show had a growing fanbase online. I just thought Hip to be Square suited Bert's easy going personality. Thanks again, Oh FYI you're certanly are the king of the Rupert themed AMV's. :)

  • @David315842 Yep, but that's because I'm the only one who seems to make them. It would be interesting to see a Rupert AMVs made by someone else just to see a different kind of idea. There actually was one made a month ago using annual illustrations, I can send you the link if you want to see it.

  • @jconifer7 You can send the link via PM if you want to. I guess people would make their own Rupert AMV's, except of course it's hard to find the episodes. :D

  • @David315842 That I'm sure is true, I had to get the episodes from a friend of mine who put them on DVD-ROMs. Okay, well I'll send the PM to you.

  • @jconifer7 Thanks. I'll be sure to check it out when I'm able to.

  • In '87, Bert released this, Fore, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.

  • @SouthshoreVice Your facts are a bit off. First of all the song was released in 1986 (acording to Wikipedia, though I'll admit if tht's wrong, as sometimes people do like to mess around with facts on Wikipedia sadily). But the group is Huey Lewis and the News. Bert raccoon had nothing to do with the original recording! He was just the character I chose for the video, because I thought it suited him.

  • fantastic video! and a fantastic song!

  • @genmac1 Thank you. :) I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • Very well done. ^.^

This song suits Bert very well. The audio at the end was hilarious!

"Screw the rules, I have MONEY!" XD I can definately picture Cyril Sneer saying that for some reason. rotflmao

  • Thank you. Of course that last little bit was paying homage to a particular abridged series. :D Oh yeah you should check out a video (if it's still on YouTube) where Seto and Mokuba Kaiba recieve a letter from their father and Mokuba rounds up a list of possible suspects and Cyril Sneer is one of them. :D

  • kk nice which speacial is your fav mine is the lost star

  • I don't particular have a favourite special or episode.

  • have you seen all 60 episodes and 4 specials ?

  • I have yes, Why do you ask?

  • Hehehe, Very very nice^^

  • Thanks.

  • Well, Bert IS definitely hip to be square, just like what the song says. :)

  • More or less, yep. :D

  • kool video man !!!

  • Thanks. ^_^

  • Great video!

  • Thanks. ^_^

  • No problem. And that's a cool song by Huey Lewis! The song fits well with the cartoon!

  • Well it does fit with Bert Raccoon's personality.

  • screw the rules I have money!

  • Or so claims Cyril Sneer. ^_^

  • Great! Awesome memories being a kid and being pampered by Mom too...

  • Great. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • I´m a Mom of a 22 year old son with whom we used to watch this funny and memorable cartoon.

It makes me (us) have memories of happy times when my one and only son was a little boy. Thank you so much...

  • You're very welcome. I'm glad you and your son enjoyed it. ^_^

  • This song so suits bert.

  • It does dosen't it. It's co care free like he is. ^_^

  • Indeed. That Bert bloke is wild!

  • Why is Bert's nose bent like that? One too many collisions with trees and it's broken? I've just always wondered why it's like that.

  • Well what youdescribed was Kevin Gillis' excues as to why Bert's nose is bent, however with the introduction of later Raccoons with bent noses (Bentley etc.) it could be that he was born with it. There was no official backstory for Bert's nose.

  • I don't know very much about this show, but I think the bent nose is one of 2 thing:

    1. The way they thought of drawing them.

    2. To show age because I've seen a couple of clips of this show & the older raccoons have bent noses like Bert's.

  • You haven't seen the show indeed. There's a young character called Bentley who also has a bent nose like Bert's. Perhaps you should watch the show foirst, before making asumptions.

  • I love this song the eighties and the nineties were the greatest even though i never seen The Raccoons television show.

  • Thanks for your comment.

  • Wow! I love it! The song suits Bert so much, and the editing is brilliant! [Love that bit at the end too...]

God I miss The Raccoons...best cartoon ever...

  • Thanks for your comment. ^_^

  • They've just released it on dvd, i've just ordered series 1 and 2! I'll be able to recreate the saturday mornings of my youth!

  • es I know. I'm from the UK so I know about the British DVD releases.

  • Lol @ the bit in the beginning where it looks like Cyril Sneer is laughing at Bert for falling out of the tree.

And Random Yu-Gi-Oh TAS quote at the end FTW!

  • Thanks for your comment, most appriciated. ^_^

  • Nice video. It goes well with the song like timing and everything. I've never even heard of this show tho. Raccoons on flying bikes with swords???

  • You would have to watch the show to fully appriciate this video. The video is a tribute to the character 'Bert Raccoon', who has a vivid imaganation and a real taste for adventure...and peanut butter. Bert never rode around on a bike with a sword as far as I know, LOL!

  • Right on right on.

  • Thanks.

  • A song so catchy most people probably don't listen to the lyrics but they should because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of friends. I'ts also a personal statement about the band itself.

  • OK! Nice comment about the song, though I was expecting more of a comment to do with the actual video I made. Thanks anyway though.

  • i love the raccoons! used to watch the cartoon all the time. fun video, nice work : )

  • Thanks. ^_^

  • Awesome song and an awesome video of an awesome show. It really fits Bert.

  • That's why I used it, it sounds very happy go lucky just like Bert. Thanks. ^_^

  • Yeah. You seriously rocked the video making dude. I think it would of worked with Huey's "Walkin' on a thin line" too. Both are awesome songs, but this one fits Bert better.

  • Once again thanks. ^_^

  • i thought it was too hip to be square

  • No, just 'Hip To Be Square'.

  • Wow! That was some pretty good editing there, I'm impressed. Though seeing alot of repetitive footages in the video isn't really my cup of tea, but I will say it fits well with the video. Awesome job :D

  • Well I had very limited fotage to begin with!

  • hmmm... good point. I understand that finding footages of any retro shows like the Raccoons isn't really easy to find on the internet. So no worries, the video is still great :D

  • This was made before more episodes were avaiable to download in English.

  • gREAT jOB! gREAT tUNE!!!

  • Thank you. Though the music was of course Huey Lewis and the News.

  • You NAILED this video! This song goes SO well with Bert Raccoon. I always used to think it went "Hit the big square".

  • LOL! Thanks ^_^

  • the video is awesome! i just have to post this: (from Family Guy) Meg: "Oh No! I'm missing the news!" Peter: "It's OK, we all miss the News, but we have to be patient until Huey comes out with new songs".

  • LOL! Funny line, though it's not Raccoons related, but it is related to the group though, so I guess it can stay.

  • 'Screw the rules. I have money.'

  • Vintage Kaiba becomes vintage Sneer.

  • The song brings me all the way back to the 80's because the 1980'and the 1990's were the best decades ever in television, music, movies, commercials, fads, toys, fasion etc.

  • Ahmen to that.

  • i loved this video too, thanks david.

  • Again you're welcome. ^_^ Cyril Sneer and Seto Kaiba should consider hangin' out together.
