They were his actual bone. It wasn't until later that the adamantium (spelling?) was fused with his skeleton.

Nope, wolverine's always had claws, theyre made of bone... They gave him the adamantium, so essentially metal claws...and a metal skeleton, etc.. But the bone claws were always there.

He had claws from birth, but you're wrong on one part. His healing abilities are heavily reduced when his adamantium claws are out, or when he "hurts himself" when they're inside his body, he can heal just as new.

I think you are confused. When his claws are out he is injuring himself... so in that sense you are correct; his regeneration has to deal with the wounds on his hands. The adamantium is a different story. No matter if his claws are out or not it is poisonous to his body. So Logan gained durability of the adamantium skeleton in exchange for the extreme mutant regeneration - which is decreased but still pretty good.

OHHH, i think they're opening more room for Marvel characters in this movie. I saw Deadpool from the Marvel, Ultimat eAlliance Game. If you've seen the very end of Iron Man, when Samuel L Jackson comes out and tells Tony Stark about SHIELD and the Avenger Initiative, that's what this movie is leading it to.

All I want to see is this: Captain America, Spiderman, Wolverine, and Iron Man on the same screen at once.

While they are all from the Marvel Universe, unfortunately they are different franchises. Deadpool was part of Weapon X. Samuel L. Jackson was playing the part of Nick Fury. Notice his eye patch. X-men, weapon X, spiderman have been involved in the past. The Ironman, Hulk, and shield connection is leading up to the Avengers movie hopefully coming out sometime soon after 2010. Capt America should be in it. I wouldn't put it past them to merge them all but I would not get your hopse up.

I'm glad they changed him for many reasons,1.They need an actor this time,because he's a quintessential character.2:Tyler was the right size for the artificially enhanced Sabertooth of present day,not the original 3.Sabertooth looked like shit in the first movie,his eyes were wrong,his claws looked like something out of Partyhut,and he sounded like a lug.
