I have been taking xannax since 18 and I am 35 now. I have been trying to get off of it, but I have panic attacks and I am bi polar, and BPD. I get withdrawls when I don't have xannax.
@tinamarie2913 dude scary. im on kpins for 2 years and i felt a detox once on them and it was indescribable. i always fear a situation where i lose access to it and what would happen, i would like to get off those.
as for meetings. i did not need meetings. i wasn't addicted because i was an abuser, though the 12-steppers would argue. i was sucked into it unwittingly by my doctor. i did, however, feel the need to seek out meetings the 3rd and 4th week. they turned out not to be necessary, though the company would have been welcome. if you think you might be tempted to restart, then by all means go to the meetings. be aware that meetings can be hookup places for more drugs and avoid that.
...if you can do so, get the video guy's number and call him on his offer. if someone can't stay with you for 2 or 3 weeks, then make sure they call you once or twice a day and agree to drop everything and visit you if you don't answer.
you will be undergoing something wickedly bad and, during it all, you will be basically disabled. i can't speak for alcohol, but with benzos you absolutely must have at least monitoring at a very minimum. if you can do it, go to a detox facility.
here's the problem. if your doc thinks you've started taking too much he will fear for his license and cut you off. he will tell you to go to your county rehab, straight from his office. of course, you can't leave your (house, dog, car, bird, etc.) alone for an undetermined time, so you will likely just go home to see what happens. this is the reality of it.
real world advice: GET A FRIEND TO STAY WITH YOU ! you need someone to dial 911 or to drive you to the emergency room...
I've been off work two months recovering from a cancer treatment. I only take the prescribed medication (Hydrocodone & Xanax) when my menstrual cycle starts which is when the pain gets astonishing. After this week, I feel worse than EVER for at least 10 days and now I realize that I'm most likely going through withdrawal. Wow. Now what do I do......ugh.
I was under the misconception that withdrawals couldn't kill you & tried to detox off opiates at home...big fucking mistake. I almost died. I didn't quit cold turkey either, I weaned off but it didn't matter. I ended up in the ER and going to psych ward/detox for 2 weeks. I should have just gone to the hospital right from the beginning. Took 6 months just to feel not sick & almost a year before I really felt "normal" again.
AT LEAST HE IS HELPIN FEEATHOME2004 I MORE OUT OF HIS COMMENTS THEN YOUR SAD ONE PEOPLE NEED HELP SO IF THIS DONT APPLY GO FLY ...I HAVE HAD ATTACKS FOR YEARS AND HE HASNT LIED YET... WHERES YOUR ADVICE COME ON WE ALL NEED IT... YA NOW YOUR ALL CLUELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To the guy who made this video. I've been drinking heavy for about 2 years now. Average around 8 beers a day. I'm stopping tomorrow as I've had enough of it. Do you think I'll be ok? Bit worried after this video. Tried using chlordiazipoxide a few weeks ago but failed. Desperately want to quit now.
Tell that to george w hill correctional facility..Was detoxing from heroin an xanax an they told me to go fuck myself basically they said did i tell you to do all that shit...They didnt care..
#4- so thats the very short version of the story was longer more detailed horrific story but i tell it cause youre completely right - you can easily die of many issues from aneurism to organ failure from detox you re completely right bout it - but you were horribly mistaken saying alc and benzos worst most dangerous- statistically lot opioid users are drug street rec users dont have dabgerous all day every day intake and cell saturation of amedical pain patient those are more dangerous!
and now that ive gotten opioid comments out of way- wanted tell you a alcohol detox death anuerism experiance- i am marine biologist and licensed captain at sea of any thing any where in world- i was on long range fishing trip 2nd captain on trip had kid early 20s onboard acted like was on heroin out of it weord thought was on drugs night before - next day homeboy goes down white purple face no breathing dead for second revived him he picked up by uscg chopper and on way to hospital
#2- and while in chopper uscg said he had another anuerism thingy in chopper minutes after left our vessel and then died in hospital later- we thought was drug overdose especialy from behavior night before- we found out via family later that he was 5th a day or more vodka drinker and had been daily doing it since high school when father died- and he cam out at sea on boat didnt drink only had 1 beer in 2 days and damned if he didnt drop on deck dying of anuerism in brain from lack alcohol!!
#3-so poor kid tried get sober while on the boat trip and had aneurism of brain from lack of alcohol. !! id never even heard of such thing none crew had and we all know alot of alcoholics at sea lol lol ( i dont drink but most at sea do to eleviate daily aches pains of being on rocking boat 24-7 but the pooor kid early 20s drank daily few years and cam e out didnt drink anything but 1 beer in 2 days and has aneurism on deck! died later after arriving in hospital died of 3rd aneurism attack
wow i am shocked stunned blown away that you could mention alcohol and benzo detox and acute withdrawl as most dangerous but not mention ipioids ! real opiod addiction like pain patients who take heavy dose several times day withou t fail for years- not recrerational users or street users cause they run out supply can tafford or find it nough to keep it saturated every cell your body like a real pain opioid patient does but yes those 2 are dangerous but not as dangerous as real opiod detox
#2 so no not most recreational or street opiod addicts are not in as much danger but for example lets take a pain patient- - lets say person injured permanently and takes 500-1,000 mg of morphine a day for 5-10 yrs or fentonal or others but lets say morphine 500- 1000 mg a day without fail every day for 5- 10 yrs- you are in far far far far far far more danger and will suffer infinately more then a benzo or alcohol detox, im really shocked you didnt adress it but said alcohol and benzo worst
@ThaiTyBeta What is your source that says opioid detox from consistant daily use as a pain patient can be worse than alchohol and benzo detox? From what I've read doctors and hospitals don't consider opioid detox life-threatening but alcohol and benzo detox they do consider life threatening. This is because they act on different centers of the brain & the center that alcohol and benzos act on is the GABA centers which can cause seizures.
@amalt37 many many sources and ironic in first few comments in vid he says the ignorrance so common on detox in usa now- and street recreational non prescription opiod users are the mass majority of opiod addicts such as heroin etc ( btw you can die and have organ failures anuerisms from lots even prednisone etc steroid drugs =must be weened off or else can die ) but street users do not have the steady roundthe clock 4 plus times day saturation of tissues cells etc for years dailyetc it takes
@ThaiTyBeta I'm not saying I don't believe you. I have an open mind. I'm just looking for some type of source like a medical journal or study you can cite. No offense intended but saying "many, many sources" isn't a source. Are you talking about personal experience? Do you have firsthand knowledge? I have heard of one case where an elderly pain patient died, he was probably weak. Other than that it has been postulated that one could die of dehydration. How else could someone die? Siezure?
@amalt37 #2 but herroin users street users do not typically have as many fatat or life threatening things suchas aneurisms organ failures etc- but fentanol morphine irsf for example if used for long peroids roundclock way supposed to all tissue organs cells saturation is the problem. like how morphine is injected in tpo muscles heroin diff type of opiod is is into veins directly but if you know anthing bout opiods you know it can easily and often be fatal or life threatening.ignorrant u r
@ThaiTyBeta Alcohol and benzo detox is much more dangerous than "real" opiod detox. You can't die from opiod withdrawal. You just feel like you might. Anyways have a good day.
@BiShBrAt shows how brainles ignorant and arrogant you are, and yes you do and can die from real deep medical opiod addiction, brain anuerism, organ failures, strokes, heart failure etc etc there ae many ways can die but street opiod users do not have the heavy daily round clock cell saturations necessary so never really happens with street users but can happen easily with injured medical pain patients who been taking strong daily 4 plus times a day doses for years ( fentanol morphine etc )
@BiShBrAt 2- so for example someone who taken 180 mg's a time for 5 doss a day for years in pain, or someone on heavy fentanol pathces daily for years can be fatal in instant- this doesnt happen with street users they do not have the round clock daily cell saturations- but only thing "correct" bout your statements is the "brat" in your name- i know 3 people who almost died of anuerisms or organ failures and 2 that did die. 1 from annuerism 1 from organ failure ( believe was liver or kidney)
day 3 of alcohol detox at home, I don't know what happened or why I started drinking again. but man it was bad for like a 7 day binge of vodka. I don't even think that I ate or slept, I know I drove... so it is a MIRACLE I'm not in jail or dead. this is my 3rd time detoxing. where I'm actually trying. I detoxed twice in rehab stayed clean for over a year. and just HAD to drink alot recently for some reason. Alcohol, Sucks ass. I'm on day 3... again.... at least I'm sober today.
He is right. And even if you are broke just go to the er thay have to treat you by law and it will be comfortable. Just boaring. And if you are not ready to deal with the mental sickness then you are not ready to give up your drug of choice. Do not even think about detox unless you are ready for a long road of dealing with why you used in the first place.
Dont detox on your own!!!..Too dangerous...Go to a rehab..I have been detoxed from xanax...and..I am home now and really going through hell..But I do have good days..The mind plays tricks on you...I can deal with the physical part..but the mental part of detox is crazy...The mind tells you that you are going to die...Just pray and get to meetings..K

The thing about benzos is you can't just detox you gotta taper. withdrawals from benzos can last months even years where as alcohol a week or two.
