This is a complicated issue; like Glenn says it's about what "they ought to do" ..the Constitutional issue is clear. Kind of like when us Progressives object to Right-wingers carrying guns to churches, National parks, and Obama rallies! They have to "right" to do it BUT is it the "right thing" to do?

Excellent job, Glenn. Howard reminds me of a bowl of jell-o, when pressed on a point he just breaks into a pile little squishy bits. He refuses to address the need to stand up to bigotry and wants to rationally negotiate with the irrational. I'm very disappointed in Obama and Dean and others on this issue.
