Wow! I wonder if any of the videos shown here still exist? I've seen the vid for "Redd Kross" on YT, but the rest are new to me--and I'd love to see that version of "Riding on the Rocket"!
Even with the defects in sound quality, this was still fun to watch.
I think the reason they haven't really hit big is because their material is pretty inconsistent. Some of their most appealing stuff, in fact, are the covers they've done (the rendition of the Carpenters "Top of the World" was especially memorable).
It is also sad that they still, to this day seem not to be accepted. Their UK gigs were tiny venues with no more than 100 people. I think they are an enigma. They inhabit that part of the popular imagination it is impossible for most people to go. Half-fantasy, timeless and innocent, they are the perfect pop-band.
Watching this, my brain instinctively tries very hard to fit them into some kind of pigeon-hole, a category. The more you try, the less they seem to fit.
They look so young here, can the 1980s really be that far back in time? Yet they are still here in spirit. It seems to be Naoko alone these days though, because this young female camaraderie is over. Their serious side is truly bizzare though, because you never think of them that way.

Wow! What a great clip! Thanks for posting this.
...and VHS is great for creating a really nice time garbled nostalic feel.

Duck On Bike! I like how they have the wrong song titles...Diet Run imposed over Sk playing
Red Kross. Sound quality isn't great but this is
a nice little nugget and a great archival piece.
Thanks for posting this.

Thank you! This is great! (though the sound quality isn't so great, but that's not your fault.)
