What is so wonderful about Rory is his equal attention to rhythm and leadwork.
Kinda simultaneous but yet quite discernable. Throw in his vocalwork and I dont know how much more a guy can ask for. I love to watch him. He is inspiring.
It's kind of amazing but also sad at the same time, to see how his performances changed within only a few years. At this point in 1982 his performances was still as wild and filled with energi as in the 70's. But if you look at the footage from "Live at Montroux" three years later in 1985 you'll see a much more quiet Rory, who had aged a lot. But I guess it was due to his weakened health :(
Love the live version on Stage Struck, what an album that is! I only had a Morris Minor at the time but with Rory playing I could have been driving a Porche.
Absolute magic!....adore Rory and always felt that his guitar had two leads..one to the amp..and one to his beautiful bluesy soul!...how we miss you Rory RIP

I first saw him in 82 backing Rush. I threw away my Rush records after the show. Been listening to Rory ever since. His music lives on!
