sweet bike but theres no way u got 106hp. 106lbs/ft is more likely. you are also not using 2:1 pipes so you dont have the back pressure to boot. just had mine dyno'd after i installed churckey's VBAK, and i have 108lbs/ft and the hp was in the 80's.
Im on the forums I own a warrior I have the vbak, pciii, ais block, bigshots, you will never make 100+ hp without doing engine work. you can barely hit 100hp with head/ cylinder work, cams, ecu ,etc.
Im on the forums I own a warrior I have the vbak, pciii, ais block, bigshots, you will never make 100+ hp without doing engine work. If you trying to claim 106 at the wheel your crazy and if your trying to claim 106 at the crank your just stupid.
Yeah, I had an 03 with a Patrick racing cam, 1810cc big bore kit, and 12.5-1 pistons, PCIII, GYTR injectors, and I made 98hp 110 ftlbs to the wheel, so yeah about that 106 hp......
I think you need to seek out another dyno guy...Your guy used a little to much pixie dust. Unless you are holding back on the mods you've really done. Nice bike though!
With the V-BAK kit their are 3 hoses. a big one ( crank vent) and the 2 other go where I am in the psocess of putting the kit on my bike and I am havig probleme any help would be nice
This bike has almost 90 HP at the crank stock and 100ft/lb stock. Is it really that hard to believe a BAK, Exhaust, AIS and a properly tuned PC can deliver above this??
@swedishmax i just installed a PCV with Autotune and can´t wait to get my dyno run. AIS removed, Samson Rip Saw and modified air cleaner, i hope i can hit the 100hp.
@gambietti the better question is, what does it do if you leave it installed. Absolutely nothing. AIS is a system that pumps fresh air into the exhaust to burn yet unburned fuel. This way Yamaha wants to get better emissions. I had to remove it cause of the Power Commander and Autotune Kit. Some people remove it just because it´s useless, some say they get better performance, which i don´t think is possible. Instruction can be found here.
@Wishmaster50000 AIS also pumps in fuel-air from the intake manifold. This makes the exhaust continue to burn as it exits the cylinder. Generates heat and back pressure.
Hey, That is the same set up I will have on my 02 when I get my V-BAK installed, except I have the sampson shorties blacked out. What map are you using and how can I get a hold of the same map? Thanks.
ive got a 2002 warrior with only 10k on it. the new motor i built has about 3k on it. i had it on the dyno and it came out at 134hp / 140lb torque. its normal aspirated. i put 11:1 pistons in it. did some head work. racing cams. pc III. big air kit. its fast but it wants to run. not all that great for just crusing though...
106 hp? would love to know your secret. most likely closer to 90hp unless you forgot to mention your high compression piston kit. Still a very nice bike and I should know, I have an 03 also!
I was gonna ask the same thing. My friend has a warrior and he only gets 91hp out of his and he has all this stuff done, which is your basic, exhaust, PC, and intake.
90 hp is really the high end with these mods. Torque is what is all about with this bike anyway. I have had several cruisers including a kawasaki vulcan and a HD sportster 1200 custom and a Electra Glide classic touring bike and my Warrior is BY FAR the biggest kick in the pants.

@madtom421 Well damn. I just got my warrior and was hoping I wouldn't have to go with a big bore kit to get the 100hp mark.

Yeah, I'm with JinnJigg on this one. I love this bike, but I am looking at the 2009 V-Star 950 because of the whole money thing.

@madtom421 go check out the warrior forum. There's guys making more than that. There's a few Bs'ers but most are legit.

Im not trying argue with you. have you dyno the bike?
I had those mods and many of my friends did too and no one over 90 HP.
We were all hoping for higher but didnt get it
The Dyno map tells all. if you did get over 90 HP I would be shocked.

wow that sounds bad and where's the dyno sheet?

Nice bike- should be a fun project. Personally I would take the front blinkers off- nobody pays attention to them anyways, and they look tacky.

he must not have the churchky vbak, it adds lots of power especially with velocity stacks.

I envy you. This is my dream bike, but it appears I'll be getting the 2009 V-Star 950 due to budget constraints.

thanks... I've seen a lot of Warriors go for pretty cheap used. check it out.

yeah go with used warrior if you want a warrior. I see them all the time a few years old, with low miles for less than a new 950.
