  • SANITARIUM :L

  • sounds like sanitarum(welcome home)

  • @AHMADF93 yeah, that was intentional. the loop is the same chords as sanitarium, but in a different order and i improvised over it in the e minor scale.

  • i would say they're jumbo. too much for my taste.

i have another video on here with an ec-1000. it's definitely higher quality, but not to say the sg is junk. the ltd plays and sounds like what you would think: a les paul with emgs.

  • @mikewsmith1972

That IS because an SG isn't a Les Paul haha.

  • i just buy the me 70 but im not so good to find settings or patches in a pedalboard so could you help with some settings for some t+metal songs??

  • and i did intentionally rip off sanitarium lol.

  • i use a boss me-70. it has, i think, 7 different distortion settings.

  • What amp are you using?

  • a crate flexwave 65 watt.

  • got the same amp^^

    nice guitar

  • whats the diference between this and the g400? just wondering cause i got the 400

  • this just has slightly better features, like the emg's and ebony fretboard. it also has grover tuners, which i'm not sure if the g400 has.

  • @mikewsmith1972 its standard on all epiphone gear

  • 2 more frets, strap locks, emgs.

  • CRAP ufffffffffffffffff What's that?? First Sanitarium :D

  • I have this one! i bought it for 449,-

  • sound very much like Sanitarium

  • it sort of is sanitarium. i was playing the clean part backwards.

  • can you help me, I play metal but somethimes i play some blues,

is this guitar also good for blues/rock and Hendrix stuff?

  • not great, but not horrible.

  • thank you

  • @guitarmen66 this axe

  • Hey Im planning on buying that guitar and I just have a question. Is the neck thin and easy to play on? Like can you easily play fast solos with sweeps/pull offs on that guitar?

  • the neck is pretty thin. it has a flat finish, which takes a lot of getting used to.

  • what do you mean by a flat finish. it that different from what a stratocaster has (thats what I have now)

  • the back of the neck doesn't have a normal glossy, wood finish. it's a dull, flat black. it almost looks like plastic or fiberglass. so it's not as smooth, but your hand slides across it better, until your palms get sweaty.

  • @Runner077 every thing toni iommi does emg enable metaiica sab ozzy sfu

  • I got a gibson and want that pedal, but i have some questions.

    1. I want good sustain, does that one have that?

    2. Want agressive metal sound, can it make that

    3. Also want a nice deep clean sound and guud bypass, is that somthing the pelad can deliver?

    Thanks.

  • 1. i get really good sustain at higher volumes. at "bedroom" volumes, it's decent.

    2. i've gotten really good metal tones, but it took me quite awhile to find different combinations of settings that would do it.

    3. i use emgs, so i don't get a very good clean sound. i haven't used this pedal with any other pickups, so i can't really say if it would be any better with passive pickups.

  • Okey, thanks ;D

  • is tht the 120 watt crate flexwave amp i think i have the same 1 lol and im thinking about getting this guitar how would u say it goes with the overdrive and distortion in the amp

  • no, it's the 65 watt. i think the guitar and amp are a really good match. in fact, i choose this amp based on how emg pickups sounded through it.

  • nice i think ill do a bit of saving try 1 out and if i like it prob by 1

  • the biggest difference is the pickups. the 400 has stock humbuckers and the ex has emgs. you could also consider the gx which has dirty finger pickups, which have a more vintage rock sound than the emgs, which are better for metal. and the 400 has a 22 fret rosewood fretboard and the ex has a 24 fret ebony fretboard. and the ex and gx are about $300 more than the 400. i believe the hardware is all the same.

  • dude can you make a vid where you make the sg crunch, instead of solo stuff?

I wanna hear what those EMG's are capable of

  • what a shit guitar

  • Are you kiddin, eh?

  • nope

  • dood i have this guitar its godlike

  • So just wondering, is this at all like a Gibson SG? I want an SG sound but can't afford the Gibson, like most, and Gibsons have many problems so wondering if this is a good replacement or a completely different thing. I play classic rock like Cream and Led Zep and am looking for that kind of sound.

  • epiphone is owned by gibson and make very good 'affordable' versions of most gibson models. as far as i'm concerned, epiphone custom guitars(like this one)are better than most low end gibson standards. however, if you're looking for a classic rock sound, the gx version of this guitar would be better. the dirty finger pickups have a more vintage sound than the emgs in this one.

  • Thanks man.

  • I prefer the crate amplifiers' distortion as to the pedal's. Check my videos for a SG EMG custom with a Crate GLX 65. And our songs were recorded with a Crate GX-65 without any distortion pedals.

  • wish the red finish came with emg pickups.

  • the dirty finger pickups aren't that bad. but i love the emgs. even though i can't get a very good clean sound from them.

  • thats a relife!i was gonna get the red finish and pay 200 for emgs to put on it!!!thanks

  • go to guitar world's youtube page. they have a demo of all the prophecy guitars. you can hear the difference between the emgs and dirty fingers

  • hi , do you recommend the boss ME-70 ?

    i want to buy one

  • absolutely. but don't give up on it easily like i almost did. a lot of people are saying the distortion on it is not good. but once you learn how to tweak things and combine different effects, you can get anything out of it. except for decent sounding reverb.

  • thanks

  • i've bout given up on it. i've tried every setting playing in every key, with different scales and modes and it always sounds like shit. boss has a demo for this pedal here on youtube, and they make it sound like judas priest. i can't get anything close to that.

  • Hi Mike, check out my video response to this "Harmonist" issue you are describing. I think my video might help. Let me know. Thanks!

  • how do you like the feel of the Epi? How do they compare to a Gibson. You sound great for not playing for 10yrs.

  • i've found that, to me, epiphone customs and gibson standards are pretty equal in feel and comfort. but the epiphone customs usually have better features. i've owned gibsons and epiphones, and the biggest difference i've ever noticed is that gibsons usually have a better quality as far as construction, but epiphones have come a long way in the last 20 years. especially the custom guitars. but i still say there is no better guitar than a high end gibson.

  • I just got my ME-70!!! They are epic!!

  • i really like the mood of it man pretty sweet you get a five

  • Sanitarium!!!

On a more serious note, sounds an amazing guitar!

  • actually it's sanitarium backwards(at least the chords) i was wondering when somebody was going to notice that!

  • actually, i'm about a year back into it after not touching a guitar in 10 years

  • tone....

  • basically i think this pedal is a combo retake of gt-8 but witha looper and smarter harmonizer and cosm with the ME size.

  • yeaa, i didnt think of it like that..

  • hey I just got this pedal...what effects and types would you recommend to get a gilmour sound? Thanks

  • i've never really tried, but i would guess setting the preamp on tweed, with the gain about 3/4s up, low about 3/4, mid about 1/4 to 1/2 and the high end about 3/4 or more. and use compression and delay. try that for a center line and tweak it a little bit from there and see if that gets you close.
