@AHMADF93 yeah, that was intentional. the loop is the same chords as sanitarium, but in a different order and i improvised over it in the e minor scale.
i have another video on here with an ec-1000. it's definitely higher quality, but not to say the sg is junk. the ltd plays and sounds like what you would think: a les paul with emgs.
Hey Im planning on buying that guitar and I just have a question. Is the neck thin and easy to play on? Like can you easily play fast solos with sweeps/pull offs on that guitar?
the back of the neck doesn't have a normal glossy, wood finish. it's a dull, flat black. it almost looks like plastic or fiberglass. so it's not as smooth, but your hand slides across it better, until your palms get sweaty.
1. i get really good sustain at higher volumes. at "bedroom" volumes, it's decent.
2. i've gotten really good metal tones, but it took me quite awhile to find different combinations of settings that would do it.
3. i use emgs, so i don't get a very good clean sound. i haven't used this pedal with any other pickups, so i can't really say if it would be any better with passive pickups.
is tht the 120 watt crate flexwave amp i think i have the same 1 lol and im thinking about getting this guitar how would u say it goes with the overdrive and distortion in the amp
the biggest difference is the pickups. the 400 has stock humbuckers and the ex has emgs. you could also consider the gx which has dirty finger pickups, which have a more vintage rock sound than the emgs, which are better for metal. and the 400 has a 22 fret rosewood fretboard and the ex has a 24 fret ebony fretboard. and the ex and gx are about $300 more than the 400. i believe the hardware is all the same.
So just wondering, is this at all like a Gibson SG? I want an SG sound but can't afford the Gibson, like most, and Gibsons have many problems so wondering if this is a good replacement or a completely different thing. I play classic rock like Cream and Led Zep and am looking for that kind of sound.
epiphone is owned by gibson and make very good 'affordable' versions of most gibson models. as far as i'm concerned, epiphone custom guitars(like this one)are better than most low end gibson standards. however, if you're looking for a classic rock sound, the gx version of this guitar would be better. the dirty finger pickups have a more vintage sound than the emgs in this one.
I prefer the crate amplifiers' distortion as to the pedal's. Check my videos for a SG EMG custom with a Crate GLX 65. And our songs were recorded with a Crate GX-65 without any distortion pedals.
absolutely. but don't give up on it easily like i almost did. a lot of people are saying the distortion on it is not good. but once you learn how to tweak things and combine different effects, you can get anything out of it. except for decent sounding reverb.
i've bout given up on it. i've tried every setting playing in every key, with different scales and modes and it always sounds like shit. boss has a demo for this pedal here on youtube, and they make it sound like judas priest. i can't get anything close to that.
i've found that, to me, epiphone customs and gibson standards are pretty equal in feel and comfort. but the epiphone customs usually have better features. i've owned gibsons and epiphones, and the biggest difference i've ever noticed is that gibsons usually have a better quality as far as construction, but epiphones have come a long way in the last 20 years. especially the custom guitars. but i still say there is no better guitar than a high end gibson.
i've never really tried, but i would guess setting the preamp on tweed, with the gain about 3/4s up, low about 3/4, mid about 1/4 to 1/2 and the high end about 3/4 or more. and use compression and delay. try that for a center line and tweak it a little bit from there and see if that gets you close.

akguitar94 2 years ago
this just has slightly better features, like the emg's and ebony fretboard. it also has grover tuners, which i'm not sure if the g400 has.

the neck is pretty thin. it has a flat finish, which takes a lot of getting used to.
mikewsmith1972 2 years ago
what do you mean by a flat finish. it that different from what a stratocaster has (thats what I have now)

I got a gibson and want that pedal, but i have some questions.
1. I want good sustain, does that one have that?
2. Want agressive metal sound, can it make that
3. Also want a nice deep clean sound and guud bypass, is that somthing the pelad can deliver?
Thanks.

no, it's the 65 watt. i think the guitar and amp are a really good match. in fact, i choose this amp based on how emg pickups sounded through it.

nice i think ill do a bit of saving try 1 out and if i like it prob by 1
