it's a perfectly reasonable question. The control surfaces (i.e. flaps, ailerons, elevators and rudder) are all controlled by hydraulic fluid. Hydraulic fluid lines meet in the tail near the rear bulkhead. During the flight the panels around this bulkhead tore apart severing those pipes. Without hydraulics the aircraft is un-maneuverable and totally uncontrollable. It is like trying to steer a car and nothing happening when you turn the wheel. This was due to improper maintenance by the Airline.
There was no right or wrong for the pilots they were using engines to steer the plane and engines are not meant to steer a 747 but they went against all odds to try to land the 747 but in the end the plane went down with the pilots doing everything they could to stop the dive but sadly it crashed
better than most under the circumstances - would've been more survivors if the rescue wasn't so slow... 14 hours responding, or if the Americans were allowed to commence rescue when they discovered the crash, which was long before the JSDF did.

for that tree/airbus collision: The onboard computer wont let the pilots pull back enough to cause a stall. The computer kept it out of stall which would have caused it to dip a wing or some other nasty thing as it hit the trees. Lives were saved due to the lack of stall. (not that hitting trees is fun either way lol) I remember seeing that video a few years ago and asked my A330 pilot neighbor about it. Thats where I got this info.

副操縦士は昇格試験で機長席にすわっていた。機長が副操縦席にいる。この少し前に機長や航空機関師がスロットルで水平を保ってるのを副操縦士は見てるはずだし機長からスロットルでピッチコントロールしろと言われているので、フラップを下げたままスロットルを絞り水平を保とうとしていた。しかし、フラップを下げると強烈な頭上げ姿勢になるのでスロットルをかなり絞らないといけない。それで絞っていらた失速したようだ。フラップを上げてスロットルを全開にしたが機首上げが間に合わず陵線に激突した。フラップを下げたままの状態でスロットルを全開にしていればこの陵線は越えたかもしれないが、また機首上げになるので失速を繰り返しやはり墜落は免れなかったと考えられる。

副操縦士は最後まで操縦かんにしがみついていたらしい。操縦かんの機能が回復することを期待していたのかもしれない。スロットル操作が雑にみえるのはそのためだろう。スロットル操作だけで着陸することも可能らしいが、そういう訓練をしたことがない状態で何が起こっているのかも分からず30分の間にその技術を身につけるのは困難だったとおもわれる。

完全な墜落というより、何気に最後は強引に難着陸を試みようとはしていたのではないか?
少し前の、フラップやめな!は、フラップを戻して再上昇する意思。
最後のフラップ!は再上昇を諦めて、速度を下げるため。
最後はフラップもへったくれもなくなって出力で上昇するのを待つしかなかった。
どのみち、接地まで本気で諦めてなかったのが伺える。

これの何が問題なのか理解できん。 ナショナルジオグラフィックの想像だらけの糞なドキュメンタリーよりはるかにマシ。ゲームソフトを使っての再現だから不快だとでも言いたいのだろうが、アマチュアが作ったビデオとしてはよくできている。そもそもフライトレコーダーの全容は一部の遺族にしか公開されなかったはずだし、JAL123便の最期を知るには貴重なビデオだ。悲しむべきは、衝突後にまだ衝突を理解していないらしく、呼び掛けを続けている管制塔か。ついでに書くと(ナショジオで美化されている)米軍横田基地の呼び掛けの邪魔なことよ!

@manjirou2006 実機のフライトレコーダーのデータをトレースしたものなので機体動作の再現は、NHKなどの他のシュミレーションとほぼ同等と思われます。
市販のフライトシュミレーターではありますが、機体がどういった状況であったのか視覚的に分りやすく理解できるものと思います。 何か新しい事実を得られるシュミレーションでなければ不快と感じられると云うのは理解に苦しみます。
他の方のコメントにある様に「困難な状況下で懸命な努力を行うパイロットへ敬意をはらう方」や「アトラクション気分しか感じない”さもしい”心の持ち主の方」など様々ですので、どう感じるかは、シュミレーションの精度よりも動画を見る方の姿勢や心理状態による所が大きいと思います。

米国には航空事故を扱った番組がありますが、きっちりと墜落まで再現されます。
上下左右にゆれるダッチロール、フラップを下げたとたんに右にそれて急降下する状況をよく再現していると思います。
