this sabres season is one of the ultimate examples of buffalo's sports curse. we easily had the best team in the league. we would have beat carolina if we didn't lose our top four defensemen for game 7. we were even leading going into the third period in that game, without HALF OUR DEFENSE CORPS!
We should have fucking won the cup that season I literally cried when we lost in game 7 we always get screwed over by injuries even this year with Roy, Stafford, Kaleta, Connonly....well Connonly blows but Buffalo sports just always seem to find a way to screw everything up, we just have bad luck.

Every team they faced had major injuries that hurt their team physically and mentally. For gods sake, edmonton lost their goalie in the first game! Briere was in his prime! in Buffalo... The chemistry he had with Buffalo along with Drury was simply amazing. I know we didn't win a cup but as a Sabres fan those were the days
I watched and cheered for the Sabres in the playoffs while Briere was there. I really liked the guy while he was here in Phoenix. I love to watch him play hockey.
Hands down the greatest Call in sports history. RJ is a legend. This was a great moment. I was really pulling for Buffalo to finally win it all that year. Better luck in the future.

yeah, i lived in Buffalo for 23 years then moved to nyc 3 years ago because there are no jobs in Buffalo. The rangers fans here are bandwagon, without a doubt. They complained because they were a 7 seed. Sabres fans applauded the team at the last game. Nothing like Sabre fans.
I was at this game as a graduating gift and there will never be a moment any better than this until we bring Stanley home.

No doubt sabres should of beat carolina.
Buffalo lost to carolina because we had a ahl defense for game 7 and because we had too many injuries this was buffalos year and carolina stole it.

I think the Amerks are going to turn it around now, I have to hope it will, I cant afford Sabre tickets and I love hockey so I gotta love my team, maybe not the players but definitely the team.
Maybe in 2 more season Curt Styres can mend a broken relationship and get us back with Buffalo.

I know how it is. Binghamton has never seen a Calder Cup while the Americans have tasted the glory of a Calder Cup. Will the Amerks do it again? That would be nice. Will the Senators do it? With a new coach and two new players coming, I don't know whatsoever. The chances are better with your team than mine by a mile. Good luck with the Amerks in 09-10.

Briere was in his prime! in Buffalo... The chemistry he had with Buffalo along with Drury was simply amazing. I know we didn't win a cup but as a Sabres fan those were the days

I watched and cheered for the Sabres in the playoffs while Briere was there. I really liked the guy while he was here in Phoenix. I love to watch him play hockey.

Buffalo is also a rather poor city. The average income is terrible and New York's tax system is horrendous.
If you go to Buffalo, you'll see the people are not bandwagon fans. Every other house has some type of Bills and/or Sabres parapherelia displayed outside.

I didn't say you were poor. I said the city, on average, has a poor economy. And this was before the recent economic downfall. On average, Buffalo's population has been decreasing by 1% each year. Lack of jobs, cost of living, etc... are the cause of this. I, too, live in Buffalo. I was trying to explain the passion people have for the Bills/Sabres in Buffalo. I meant no disrespect to you. I just want people to know how much people in WNY love the Bills/Sabres.Very few bandwagon fans in WNY.

yeah, i lived in Buffalo for 23 years then moved to nyc 3 years ago because there are no jobs in Buffalo. The rangers fans here are bandwagon, without a doubt. They complained because they were a 7 seed. Sabres fans applauded the team at the last game. Nothing like Sabre fans.
