"Unless you think you could change the movie with your acting, which I don't think I could" - I just want to point out that Winter's Bone could have been nearly unwatchable without a very convincing portrayal of Ree. Not to say that the movie overall wasn't good, but her character and her portrayal certainly carry the movie and allow all of the other good things about it to shine.

She IS Katniss. I mean, I don't want to characterize her as a person or blur the lines between actor and character, but she is the perfect Katniss. When she said she was "slightly repulsed" by the Hollywood scene, it made me think of Katniss' disgust with the Capitol scene (which are both similar in content, if you think about it). She's such a real person and just doesn't sugar coat anything. I think that's admirable, and she's awesome for not letting the stereotypes change who she is.

I've only seen Winter's Bone and X-Men. Winter's Bone was really amazing, kind of a quiet amazing. If that makes sense. I didn't really like her in X-Men though. I might have seen her in something else but I haven't been conscious of her.

I was really surprised at how articulate, pleasant and nice she seems. People have painted her up to be this ditsy young girl, but she's the absolute opposite.
