If you've been watching all the episodes up until this one, you should've noticed that that was practically all they ate. Processed crap. The whole point of the food revolution, was to get one town eating more nutritiously and know that they CAN change the statistic that they're the most unhealthiest city in America.

They could've tried something else, yes, but I guess Jamie thought that stir fries were quick and easy and most importantly, have lots of vegetables/nutrients in them. Well, I think the Dj is the real hero of this show. By "opposing" Jamie's mission, he is generating much more publicity that he would have if he had simply gone along with it on his radio programme. He's created an evil pantomime villain character that people love to hate, thus aiding Jamie's quest. Whether or not he did it on purpose, we'll never know but I suspect the whole thing to be rigged.
