And how they jump so high? Well lets see, most kids in China who compete are taken from their parents and trained by the government at five, and six years old. Meaning, that they go through intense training for most of their lives.
People who say wushu isn't effective in a fight obviously don't know much. It trains you to be fast strong and flexible, and I am pretty sure thats makes a difference in a fight.
come on guys, lets cut it out. wushu does mean what most of us call kung fu, but it is USED to specify the gymnastics, not a martial art. two different things. You cant compare apples to oranges saying this apple is better at being an apple than the orange,. cause the orange is an orange, not an apple. two different things, wushu is just based on kung fu, but without its rooring or fighting nature. peace
Before any of you guys make comments on wu shu,you should read and understand it's 2,000 year history,and the difference between the wu shu that is taught today,and the wu shu that was taught many years ago,and you will learn the true value of it,and realize that it is indeed a real kung fu!

Well, Wu Shu is the chinese name for martial arts, Kung Fu has the same but wider meaning. It means profesion in any field.
Wu Shu has many system and nobody really master it all. It's far too wide to learn for a person.
