  • I have this carseat and I love it. There are other choices for a 5-point harnes carseat for children over 40lbs. She obviously didn't do much research. Toys R Us may only carry this one, but there are more to be found. The only con I can find with this seat is the bulkiness, but what do you expect in a seat that will harness a child up to 80lbs?

  • @southernchoppa

    Tell me about it!

If you hate this seat so much get a different one. Get the Recaro Prosport.

  • If you don't like that seat then you should get the Britax Frontier 85. It holds a child in a 5-point harness until 85 pounds and has the highest top harness slot of any car seats at 20 inches. It also converts into a booster until the child is 120 pounds and up to 5 feet 5 inches tall. To me it's a lot better than the Regent

  • I think regent and frontier wt. and ht limit are the same..

  • ...what in the world was the point to this video??

  • Wow This video is so funny. I see someone hasn't read the manual or researched her car seat. Every car seat has its quirks. The Hugs on the Britax seats are a weight distribution system. Not a chest clip stabalizer. I would love to have one of these seats. You would also have to expect a car seat that harnesses up to 80 lbs to be bigger and have to be installed a little differently. Its not like were talking about 40 lbs here. I totally agree about the strap covers though. They suck. LoL

  • You should think your self looky you can get a carseat like this. You should come over to the uk and see the ones we have to use for our kids. We dont have anything like the car seats you do and the law over hear is that childern have to be in boosters till they are 12.

  • why to make videos like this , and publish them ?! :D

  • the graco nautilus only goes up to 65lbs, but it will accomadate children to the same height I HAVE checked both together. Also the Latch only goes to 40lbs in most cars not 48 pounds as stated.

  • This is a wonderful carseat...read the directions and you'll know your answer about the recline bar. You shouldn't have this carseat (or any carseat ) installed in your vehicle if you haven't read the directions first.

  • This woman needs to get a life...if she paid over $200 for this car seat and doesn't like it duhhhhhhhh return it!! We have TWO of these car seats and there is NOT a better car seat on the market!

  • 22lber should be rear-facing anyways.

  • the marathon is beginner, this one is the Regent, next step after 45/65 lbs.

  • Why don't she read the owners book?

  • I hope no one has watched this video as the ONLY information on this seat. I would love to see you do a current review now that you have used the seat. My children are both in them. I have a 48in 44lb 6 yr old and 40in 36lb 5 yr old. They both use the pockets for treasures, drink cups and sometimes temp storage of trash... tissues etc. This is an EXCELLENT seat, I can think of very few reasons not to get it.

  • The LATCH weight limit on your Honda is 40lbs - not 48lbs. It is very important to pay attention to LATCH weight limits - they vary between 40 and 60lbs depending on the vehicle.

The Regent is the largest seat on the market with highest top harness slot height, but there are other extended harnessing seats available:

    Sunshine Kids Radian

    Recaro Signo/Como

    Safeguard Childseat

    Graco Nautilus

    Britax Frontier

    Cosco Apex65

  • Hi,

Hope you found the answers to the LATCH system. Those anchors clips are used when you attached them to the lower anchors of your Honda. The top tether is for the top anchor. If you baught your Honda after 2002, it should have the LATCH system.

  • This seat has been wonderful for my tall handicap 4 year old. She did pull the velcro neck pads off first time we used it, we eventually gave up on those. It fits in our car perfectly. I feel very secure with her in this car seat. I am about to get a second one for her baby sister because I like it so well.

  • All her questions and confusion and poo pooing of this seat is because she hasn't used it. I have two Britax Boulevards and I need all those extra features she babbled on about wondering why. We have the seats in my 20 year old pickup and my wife's brand new 4Runner. So we need both fastening systems and this seat has it. We tried 5 seats before the Britax. All were #1 recommendations by one safety group or another. The Britax was sooo much better engineered.

  • I like the sunshine kids Radian 80 it's slimmer and it folds, but britax is a good company.

  • That lady has a cool accent!

  • Great review! You're right, it doesn't fit 22 pound babies very well, who should be rear-facing anyway. The LATCH and versa tether are unique to Britax--it is hard to get used to but I like them alot better than other brands because they are very easy to use!

  • very nice review on the Britax!

  • Thank you!

I wanted to see this in person before buying, but it's not in any stores in our town. Great video. Very helpful. We are buying one now

  • This looks like a very good car seat

  • Just wanted to clarify that the patented HUGS system is not used for placement of the chest clip. Rather, Britax has found it reduces head excursion by gripping the child's clothing. Lower head excursion reduces the probability of head injury, so keep them on!

  • Thanks for the info - good to know!

  • Very nice review!! It is great to hear a good review for a car seat because it is so important to find the right one.

  • Thanks for the comments!

  • Its approved for infants ( Radian 80), so it obviously has good side impact protection..just thought I would let you know. :)

  • ditto the Radian 80. it does have some install issues, but the seat is really slim.

  • good review..its pronounced BRii Taax :)the teather is called a versa teather. It says that it distributes the crash force in more directions. There is another option though. The Radian 80 by Sunshine kids holds kids up to 80 lbs in a harness. The seat is great. It folds flat..you should research it! Also, it has GREAT side impact protection. :)I think you might like that better than the Regent..

  • Thanks for the info!
