How could you forget to mention the most important part of the adjustment layers?

Not only can you adjust the opacity of a filter to go back, but you can actually edit the layers themselves. Say you had a two point curve and you decided you only wanted a one point curve, with adjustment layers, you can go back and fix.

Or instead of creating a duplicate layer, you can always make an adjustment layer instead, just saying.

Here is another tip a lot of people don't know about. You can change the opacity and blend mode of filters. When ever you make a change with filters, just press CTRL + F and a dialog box will open asking you to change the opacity or blend mode of the filter
