  • these tips are great for all photo manipulation programs in general (GIMP, Paint.net, Sumpaint, etc), but if you are using Photoshop just use an adjustment layer. It allows for manipulations, but those manipulations are not permanent and can be deleted.

  • How could you forget to mention the most important part of the adjustment layers?

    Not only can you adjust the opacity of a filter to go back, but you can actually edit the layers themselves. Say you had a two point curve and you decided you only wanted a one point curve, with adjustment layers, you can go back and fix.

  • Or instead of creating a duplicate layer, you can always make an adjustment layer instead, just saying.

  • Here is another tip a lot of people don't know about. You can change the opacity and blend mode of filters. When ever you make a change with filters, just press CTRL + F and a dialog box will open asking you to change the opacity or blend mode of the filter
