  • Any good books to read

  • I haven't read a lot of books, because mostly school has given me a bad taste in the mouth on books because I have been forced to read them not out of pleasure. I don't care what anyone says I don't enjoy The Great Gatsby or Shakespeare's works to be honest.

  • akala is like a british version of eyedea, just a little more political.

  • Pause at 4:53

  • can someone give me the list of those books he mentioned please?

  • @YaziDogoTv follow the links in the description. Also, check my channel for other videos you might be interested in.

  • dis vid has inspired me ta start readin, tink i'l start wid da poet Akala mentioned RUMI as i've heard of him b4...

  • Nice vid man, it inspired me to read a little more. I usually end up buying books and never reading them. I'm trying to work my way through all these books I've got so far

  • @IFrameRodger I know the exact feeling. I think it's a lot to do with building confidence, if a whole book seems daunting just set a goal of just one chapter, and keep setting yourself goals that are achievable and satisfying. It can be any chapter of any book that you find interesting. It gives you more faith in your ability to read stuff. If you haven't already check out my Tips On Reading - there is a link in the description. Good luck!

  • 6:30 Secret life of trees is a great read as well, didn't know there was a book called secret life of plants, might check it out one day.

  • whats this at 8:09 ?

  • @147batuhan "Dare to speak intelligent"

  • Has anyone read Think and grow rich by Napoleons Hill? Akala mentions it in this video, was just wondering what peoples thoughts are on this?

  • 1. 1984- George Orwell

    2. Heart of Darkness - Joseph Conrad

    3. The Prophet- Kahlil Gibran

4.The Trillion Dollar Conspiracy- Jim Mars

    5. A Brief History In Time- Stephen Hawking

    6. Crime and Punishment- Fyodor Dostoevsky

Those should be enough mind opening reading material to start anybody off, knowledge IS power and control of words, is control of reality.... read and enlighten yourself

  • The Last Bling King - Mike Hockney Its an incredible, inspiring book that tells the tale of how the people of today in a group called THE LIBERATION LEAUGE OF NOBODIES had a revolution against the elites; the super-rich, celebrities, royalty and consumerism. I wanted a revolution then and there after I read it it was amazing.

  • akala keep up the great work bro

  • @Archigrime I wasn't gonna upload this, it's just something I originally created for myself with loads of clips of various people on reading, hence the poor editing (a lot was cut out of a lot of places), the sound issues appeared after uploading - I tried re-uploading 6 times to no avail. Didn't realise there would be so much focus on the editing, thought people would just focus on the message.

If you don't like it YOU can make it again.

  • PS the Quran or any other 'holy' book was never written to empower you. These are tools of oppression and enslavement, single handedly responsible for the retardation of humankind.

No disrespect to your religion, faith works for some people, just keep it to yourselves.

  • @Archigrime +1

  • first word that was revealed in the qur'an was 'iqra' READ!!!!!

  • "Jerusalem In The Quran" a must read for muslims and non-muslims to better understand the world we live in today

  • The first word of the noble Quran revealed to the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) was READ!!!

  • @chocostar96 True. Allah(SWT) didnt ask us to pray or fast but to seek knowledge first:)

  • i want you guys to research tony buzan on speed reading and his mind set series if your serious about reading!!

  • why is the volume on this vid soooooooooo lowwww?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Akala is an inspiration to say the least. And at a time of economic abandonment for the people, he is a rare positive male idol which is what is needed right now. An individual who is a true poet in his own degree and cares unconditionally for the nation. He is truely special and makes me proud to be British.

Unfortuantely, this poorly edited video makes it extremely hard to actually absorb what he has to say.

  • you can read a lot of these books online for free by typing in .pdf after the book name in google search

  • Follow @dailylyricism on twitter for lyrics news and other info. Make yourself be heard. UK STAND UP.
