brentm84067usa, I had been getting agenda e-mails from Jim Matheson, and he would say that he was concerned that the radioactive waste was of a type that would get more radioactive over time ... true? I should look it up ... I trusted him, I still believe he's honest. I think when you see something wrong with the world you have to try to change it, no matter how dangerous the politics. And I believe the science is here now for solar and electric power, it only needs to be expanded and developed!

Everything is not all liberal and non-liberal, black and white! No one wants nuclear waste dumped near thier homes, no matter what kind of politics you happen to believe! When will we start using solar and wind power? They are both safe, with no harmful effects on our bodies in any way, and they are perpetually renewable energy, from the sun, and the wind, we can use these energy scources, to sustain life indefinitely on our planet Earth!

Sometimes an idea is wrong. If air and sun were viable options then we would use them. They are not. Not even close. Reality is what it is and nuclear power is the best and cleanest option available today. We need power today. I would love to dump all radioactive waste in Washington DC, above ground. But, that's not realistic either.

Burying this waste in the manner described is the most safe and most realistic option that responsible people can agree upon.
