  • Question; how can you know they all died five minutes after the film stopped. There are several groups of soldiers here. What is sad is the old man and the young soldier at 0.53 onwards. The gun they are working looks like it had a twisted barrel. Another curiosity is the gramophone at 0.31, the turntable is going backwards. Unless it is an optical illusion.

What is the town shown in the film?

  • A bit of fact. Gerarth Garms was the cameraman. Everyone in this video died about 5 minutes after the film stopped.

  • it is on LEBUS city

  • Sorry I suck at speaking German,so the only word I understood was when he said "Soviets"

  • Oh stop argueing and watch the video.

Oh and by the ways, it is ok to dress in a full German WW2 uniform in public, people would just think your a reenactor XD

    Not that I do that....

But i am a WW2 reenactor with some German uniforms and all that.

  • I wish it was socially acceptable to dress like a nazi, not because I am a nazi, but because the jackets and hats look badass

  • Go2seeAUSCHWITZ

  • To hell with war criminals, child molestors and sexual perverts from Wehrmacht! They ALL should be hanged high! Germany is still on the run for WW2 atrocities. Damn, aggressive, primitive nation!

  • @pixi3dixi

Maybe you should read a little? Wehrmacht (Heer, Kriegsmarine & Luftwaffe) was not a idiological institution like the SS. You should not get it confused! Primitive? Look who's talking - a pole

  • @HertigCarl1748

Recommend some books, which made you smart. For example: "How to steal 'Arbeit Macht Frei' part from the Auschwitz gate"... How is the nazi heritage in Sweden? You are in high numbers and in the lead of European neo-nazi movement, congratulations! It olny confirms my thesis that you and your friends alike - are primitive racist. And I prefer Poland than boring Sweden, where they even do no have a decent food.Do not write again, please take your pills and go to sleep, thx

  • @pixi3dixi

I'm so sorry for having stepped on your toes! :/ I just don't see the connection between explaining the fact that die Wehrmacht was not a ideological formation in opposite to SS,who did the dirty job, and stupid Neo-nazism, which I take no part in...I'm happy you like your Poland :)

  • @HertigCarl1748

Wehrmacht started to commit war crimes right after invading Poland in 1939. Every HONEST and sane war historian will confirm that. Wehrmacht atrocities in Poland, Ukraine, Russia, Greece, Yougoslavia, etc. are well documented. This is even not a matter of serious discussion, being confirmed during and after WW2. Therefore they do not have any military honor, because their own officer and soldiers executed innocent civilians and burned the whole cities without military purpose.

  • @pixi3dixi

There are no 'innocent civilians' in war and thus 'war crimes' are a non-existing subject. It is and always has been the soldiers duty to kill the enemy until he surrender or is totally destroyed, whether the enemy is a soldier or a pregnant unarmed woman does not make any difference - the job of the soldier is still to destroy the enemy no matter who, how and when.

People who complains about war crimes doesn't understand the purpose and nature of war..

  • @RipperYou

Your weird nick suggest deeply SADISTIC inclinations. Therefore discussion with you about any kind of crime would have clinical, psychiatric nature, not rational a bit.

Go2seeAuschwitz. Hopefully it won't hurt you further. Have a great weekend!

  • @pixi3dixi

    WTF are you babling about?

Whose civilian population was considered 'innocent' during ww2? - the answer is none. Every single participant in that war deliberately targeted civilians as that was seen as a mean to an end - the subjugation of the enemy. There is no difference in killing people in death camps or burning them to death in their homes with firebombs or nuclear weapons, thus speaking of 'innocent civilians' in war is meaningless.

War is evil - learn to live with it..

  • @RipperYou

Your weird nick suggest deeply SADISTIC inclinations.

  • @pixi3dixi

And pixi3dixi isn't a weird nick with a clear reference to sexual perversion?

You have a onetracked mind and no arguments either - quite fitting...

  • @RipperYou

    Go2seeAUSCHWITZ

1 to 3 million civilians killed by Germans there.

Konzentrationslager was network of concentration and extermination camps built and operated in Polish areas annexed by Nazi Germany during WW2.It was largest of the German concentration camps, consisting of Auschwitz I (the Stammlager or base camp); Auschwitz II-Birkenau (the Vernichtungslager or extermination camp); Auschwitz III-Monowitz, also known as Buna-Monowitz (a labor camp); and 45 satellite camps.

  • @pixi3dixi sadly, the 1-3 million did no include ur grandparents.sigh.

  • @pixi3dixi it was the ss and getsapo who did that not the wehrmact get it right

  • I read somewhere that the guy holding the color chart at the start of the video was cut down on day 3 of the offensive...

  • The breakout, known as the Battle of Halbe proved to be a very costly resulting in the destruction of the Ninth Army as a coherent force. The survivors of the 9th Army that were not killed, and did not surrender to the Soviets during the breakout, crossed the Elbe and surrendered to the US Army. THE END /Read from boottom article "The Soviet began...." to thel last words at the top article ".... /rest of IX ARMEE/ crossed the Elbe and surrended to the US Army. SALUT a TOUS !

  • In the end Weidling's corps was driven back into the Berlin and he was promoted to commander of the Berlin Defensive Area, reporting directly to Hitler. Theodor Busse and the rest of the 9th Army were driven into a pocket in the Spree Forest south of the Seelow Heights and west of Frankfurt.[2]

From inside the pocket east of Frankfurt Busse organised a breakout to the west to join up with the 12th Army.

  • After very heavy fighting Weidling's LVI Panzer Corps was driven back towards Berlin. Most of the CI Army Corps divisions, now north of the salient created by the 1st Belorussian Front were reassigned to along with LVI Panzer Corps to Army Detachment Steiner which was tasked with counter-attacking and pinching off the salient – a fantasy created in Hitler's mind which was never possible.

  • In addition south of Frankfurt (which was defended by the Frankfurt Garrison) was the V SS Mountain Corps.[1] In total the 9th Army was reduced to 100,000 men and 800 tanks and assault guns against which the Soviets had over 1,000,000 men and 10,000 tanks and assault guns.

The Battle of the Seelow Heights started on 16 April 1945 when Marshal Georgy Zhukov's 1st Belorussian Front attacked across the Oder. The 9th Army was able to hold the line for about 3 days.

  • The Soviets began their invasion of Germany on January 12, 1945 and forced the 9th Army to retreat all along the front until it was deployed westward to the river Oder. Three of the 9th Army's formations were tasked with defending the Seelow Heights, which was the last defensible region before Berlin. To the north was the CI Army Corps, in the centre General Helmuth Weidling's LVI Panzer Corps, and to south the of the Heights was the XI SS Panzer Corps.

  • For everyone inetersted I ve done furhter research. Here is link to front situation 16/04/1945. One can see one of main directions of Soviet offensive against Germans in the area of Osinow Dolny /Niederwutzen/ of our film video.

  • All heroes RIP.

  • And then they all died.

  • @MrNucch zu hölle mit dir du elender hundesohn.

  • Czy ktoś może wie, gdzie zrobione było ujęcie, na którym widać napisy: Berlin 68 km(?)?

  • @kaberek First - It' s Berlin 63 km. And for You interesting perhaps Stargard 300 km /Starogard Szczecinski nowadays/. So I think maybe Costrin /Kostrzyn/. they talk "CELULOZE FABRIKE" . Paper Industry /mayby Costrin so?/ .

  • @MacArthurDouglas1 Dziękuję! :)

  • @kaberek - hello, I' ve done some research. It is a little town NIEDERWUTZEN / Osinow Dolny nowadays/ at Oder /Odra/ River. The paper factory / paper mill/ was constructed by Germans in 1936-39. After WWII demonted by soviet troops /practic of installation demontage was very common and after reinstallation of so "taken" industry equipements in Soviet Union after WWII/. At the place of CELULOZE FABRIKE is a ..... MARKETPLACE nowadays where Polish men sell goods at low prices at German visitors

  • потом все эти товарищи там же и полегли..... и поделом

  • ES IMPRESIONANTE VER LA CAIDA DEL TERCER REICH ALEMAN, ACA EN AMERICA, ESTUVIMOS MUY AJENOS A LO QUE ESTUVO EN DISPUTA EN ESA EPOCA, PERO REALMENTE ME IMPRESIONA EL GRADO DE SACRIFICIO HUMANO EN ESTE TORRENTE DESGASTE DE SANGRE DE LOS CONTENDIENTES. NO DEBEMOS OLVIDAR ESTAS AMARGAS EXPERIENCIAS PARA LA HUMANIDAD. SALUDOS A TODOS, ADIOS........ ZENTENO

  • It's so obviously authentic, how ridiculous, look at the people and places, it's blatantly evident.

  • Отвоевались!!! Сволочи фашистские!!!

  • Trust me, the film is authentic.

  • It is of the time obviously but those soldiers would not have held up the red army for five minutes. So it is all a perfomance. The gramophone turntable at point 30 is turning back to front but at point 35 it appears to be turning the right way. Very curious.

  • @poussecafe3 - Those soldiers held up the Red Army for several days. They were outnumbered by the Soviets but suprisingly /or not - the determination of Wehrmacht units and their courage - yes! and their training took role / they were maybe the best soldier of so called elastic defense. SOLDIERS in the picture most propably UNITS of 50 JAEGERDIVISION of IX ARMY /with the STuG ANTITANKS elements/ in April 1945 in NIEDERWUTZEN /strategic village at Oder River at the road national in the times/.

  • Coorrection - they are of 5te Jaeger Division /5th Infantry Division/

  • Dead. All dead and for no good reason. The beautiful countryside destroyed for nothing. All for one man who took the coward's way out. He couldn't even lift a rifle to defend his country!

  • @SuspiciouslyDLicious If you're talking about Hitler, he won two Iron Crosses in WWI. The man was anything but a coward.

  • @SquirrelRangler - Really? And what about when he was faced with the truth about the need for tactical withdrawal - when presented by his generals? He responded with screaming fits, threats of demotion and/or escapism in drugs. The 'Reich of a Thousand Years' (lol!) was destroyed by his terror of reality. There are other things in this world more important than bodily safety, like the courage of one's convictions. In my book - and in history's, he was the ultimate coward.

  • @SuspiciouslyDLicious The war years saw Hitler as a powerful and relentless military commander, the inspiration behind great victories like the Battle of France in May 1940 and the Battle of Kharkov in May 1942; even Marshal Zhukov later privately admitted that Hitler's summer 1941 strategy - rather than the general staff's frontal assault on Moscow - was unquestionably right.

  • Ich liebe Deutschen

  • i hate russia.

  • whats the song from 1:20 till the end in the backround

  • 09.05.1945

  • This is a re-enactment, is it not? I read it was once here. The last reels made were I think up in Stettin, Frankfurt and at Baltic ports showing civilians fleeing. This looks surreal though, quite creepy!

  • @mistersmith6000 I would like to know german to understand what they are saying but I dont think that this is fake. Look at the city. It looks old (nothing new at all), and the factory is newely rebuilt.

  • @omfg4000 Yeah, that's what I thought too, but it is a re-enactment for a documentary if I remember rightly. Obviously they have tried to create the authentic feel with the color slate but i think I read they went overboard. The gut's backwards cap is one giveaway

  • Diese Kommentare, zu dieser Zeit hätte wohl jeder Deutscher für sein Land gekämpft das hatte ja zu diesem Zeitpunkt nichts mehr mit Nazis oder so zu tun. Einfach Heimatverteidigung.

  • @fbegerow Du hast völlig recht!!!. And since 9 may 1945 the rest of Europe had to fight against the red scum of the Soviet Union, until november 1989, and since then we have had to prepare for the Russian Scum that succeded the soviet one. NOT ONE GOOD THING EVER CAME FROM THAT STATE....think about that fellow EU citizens...........!!!

  • Rare colour footage like this really makes me realise just how relatively recent this war was, and how brutal it got.

  • Achtung Fuehrer! Das Rot Armee kommt: schneller, immer schneller!

    Got sei dank. Hurrrrrrrrah!

  • You know nothing of history, i suggest you go back to school, little boy

  • alle umsonst gestorben :( sie tuen mir so leid scheiß hitler^^

  • @firewal Aber echt! Mein Grossvater hatte vier Brüder an der Ostfront (zwei bei der Armee, zwei bei der Luftwaffe). Alle zwischen 10. April bis 4. Mai `45 draufgegangen.

  • @puju1234, how can you say that they defeated the whole of Europe, they never came to my island, we stood alone after the fall of France. Where the Afika Korps successful in reaching Cairo and the canal? NO. It was Montgomery who defeated Rommel in Nov 42 at Alamein and then chased them 1800 miles out of North Africa until their final ignominious surrender in 43. Please don’t rewrite history or belittle the ultimate sacrifice made on both sides.

  • @paddi371 Yea sorry, Germany conquerd almost whole europe and sorry Germany conquerd North-Africa.

  • Best army world have ever seen was beaten down by Soviet Union,USA,UK,France. It really took 4 big countries to take Germany out, it really says something about German soldiers and army.

  • @puju1234 you are completly right, if germany first defeated england and then focused on the soviet unoin, they would have won the war, and very easy. german soldiers are one the best in the world, we have seen that in many wars.

  • @puju1234 It says the germans got lucky against underarmed and underprepared nations and took a lot of initial real estate.

The most powerful country germany defeated was france. Not that impressive really.

    It says nothing more.

  • @5000433 Still Germany conquerd whole europe, defeated allies in Africa and almost got into moscow. You have to realise how much smaller population Germany had compared to Soviet Union or USA and then we put there uk and france which both has big population. Germany was most skilled army in WW2 and there is no question about it.

  • @5000433 The Germans too were under armed. Out gunned, outnumbered in both quantity and quality of armor. They just happened to be very good at tactics. yeah - they whipped the French - who it should be remembered - lost as many dead in a month as the US did in the whole war. Fortunately, the German army had not a clue about strategy

  • This is fantastic. Is there a translation?

  • schlachthof no. 5 . schlachthof no. 5 nothing more

  • See the signs at 1.45. Berlin 63 km.

  • fuck Waffen ss

  • I thought they're supposed to last a thousand years in world conquest...

  • DAS WAREN NOCH ZEITEN WAHHH

  • Almost time or the final throw of the dice. The Fuhrer is in Berlin and his gallant legions are fighting to hold the line. " And now the end is near"

  • -sad ending to a proud army. the moral looks pretty poor. most of the equipment they're using to defend their homeland is obsolete junk; some of which isn't even german junk. -lol!

  • agfa es alemana?

  • @mangelmem That is correct Sir.

  • AGFA last days... epic pictures... last ones ... best ones...

  • very sad footage,of a tradgic period in european history

  • Arme Schweine ...

  • After laying waste to all of Europe, burning, murdering, destroying other people's lives, dreams, families and countries...the war came home to Germany...I just can't feel any sympathy for these people.

  • @somersetdc then you are sick and obviously have no idea of what evil things befell all of the world in WWII....

  • @shortysboardsskt

    1) it is rude and hostile to call someone that you have never met sick.

    2) If you have never seen pictures of germans cheering the defeat, enslavement and misery of other, (the french, the poles, etc.) in nauseatingly elaborate Belin parades, they are available on Youtube for your enjoyment. They were ecstatic when the were exporting murder and death. Here, the chickens come home to roost and the "master race" looks not very masterful. My pity is for their victims.

  • @somersetdc I'm happy for you that you can have such a narrow minded view of a group of human beings that for the most part had nothing to do with the war.

  • What a desolation... poorly armed, grey faces, old guns, ill fitted uniforms on children and fear on every face. If this was supposed to be a propaganda film it's not up to the task.

  • wie heißt das lied was die am lattenspieler spielen??

  • Look how poor Wehrmacht is, artillery is from 1800. They really lost everything in the end. Good if they had 1 mg42.

  • This is very sad, the End of a great Civilization, the end of the Third Reich. The last European Empire, and the last hope for manking.

    We will rise again !

  • Surely at 0.33 the gramophone record is playing backwards. Or did German 78 rpm records play backwards

  • if the allies help germany to stop the red ords, the world would be a better place to live, is sad to see so many youngs diying for nothing.... all heroes

  • Musiktitel?

    1. Deutschland wollten sie nicht vom Nationalsoz.befreien

    2.England verlor sein Empire

    3.Die UdSSR löste sich auf

4.USA haben sich im Kaukasus eingenistet

Na, dann fröhliches Feiern der Erfolge. . .,wenn da nur die 60 Mio. Opfer nicht wären und die zerstörte Kultur

  • Like the old saying goes: "What if the politicians started a war and nobody showed up?"

  • Kleine Kinder in Uniform.

  • You actually believe that Kodak was HAND PAINTING color fil in 1945?!??!

That is jst crazy. It IS true that Germany had a very high quality color film of their own by AGFA, but it was not handpainted either. The US had developed Technicolor 3-strip color (3 negatives---none of them "hand painted") in the mid 1930s, and it was perfected by 1937. Gone with the Wind and WIzrd of Ox in 1939 were NOT hand painted. That is just plain sill! Really now! Know your facts!

  • march at the earliest mid april at the latest i think

  • huhugenug geschaut jetzt soll jemand nettes mit mir chatten hab auch bilder !

  • So late in the war too. Fascinating, thanks!

  • Heute vor 65 Jahren, am 16 April 1945 begann der Kampf um Berlin mit der Schlacht in den Seelower Höhen!

  • Oh look at these rosy little nazis prancing about...

  • We're looking at some very brave men.

  • Color really does bring to life the brutal reality of war.

  • @!?"!@ nazis!!

  • @UKRod wow real english humor!congrats!

  • To loose in colour.

  • The Fuhrer was an excellent dancer! You should have seen him at Berchtesgaden! Later, even with the Bolsheviks closing in fast, he still managed to get in a little bit of dancing inside the Bunker..

  • Probably had to go to the bathroom...in great danger of wetting his pants with the Soviets closing in on him.

  • If i was hitler i would kill all polaks all over the world

  • Comment removed

  • So Germany is bad, the USA is bad, the Russians are bad etc. Have any of you critics considered that maybe most of us in all those countries are just folks trying to get by, while our trough feeding leaders push us into one war after another? Be done with govt - hang the lot of 'em and build some system that doesn't give power mad clowns like Hitler, Stalin, Bush, Obama et al the ability to rein over us! then we can all get together and have a dandy pissup!

  • @michaelpeirce we don't have a way to do this, all of our governments are corruptable.. from what seems like a good idea can come a horror (see USSR) from what comes from the ideals of the people, no one listends (see america) i'm not against my govm. because i know there is no better alternative and anarchy is not the key to success

  • @michaelpeirce Isn't that what hitler was trying to accomplish.

  • @michaelpeirce Your comment has a useful insight... at first. But, it is madness to lump Obama (a democratically elected, non-violent politician) with Hitler/Stalin (dictators bent on killing and enslaving others). As to "build some system".. be careful. What brought Hitler and Stalin to power was the desire of the German and the Russian people to build a different system, which was then exploited. Democracy, US or European style, may be a poor system, but it is better than any alternative.

  • @michaelpeirce

I think putting Obama in your little list discredits the rest of your arguement because it reveals that you're some kind of angry republican not to be taken serious. Just saying it makes you look stupid.

  • @diramonsky I don't if you disagree with me nor do I care if you insult me - usually. But please don't call me a Republican. I have the same contempt for those bums as I do for the Dems.. you should read slower and you'd see I named both Bush and Obama as metaphoric despots. I don't care a darn which group of thieves are currently running things. A pox on all of them.

  • @michaelpeirce

Well Bush should actually be in there but Obama not. Obama didn't start any illegal wars. I mean if you make a list of murderous dictators then Obama shouldn't part of it. Unless you totally lack perspective that is.

  • Das Grauen des Krieges. Nie wieder!

  • Getreü ihrer Pflicht standhaft bis zum Schluss! Ihr tapferen Helden, Euer Dienst für die Heimat! Und heute ist die Oder leider Grenze.

  • The brave men (and boys) who defended my home in Breslau against the Soviet army, to permit my mother, grandmother, and me to escape to Dresden, just in time to witness the wanton destruction of that great city, one of the greatest mass murders of the entire history of our troubled world. Please search for "thewararoundus" on your internet to see the unvarnished truth about our world's useless wars!

  • Odd Schrubbe Guy,oh hes american that explains his ignorant, naive sight of the world.Burning books, burning humans.i agree, there were many more book burnings in the USA maybe that explains Dresden,Köln,Berlin,Hiroshima,Nagasaki,Baghdad,Vietnam etc etc.Profit and Ruin, spoke someone from the HQ of neoconversatism, the exploiter of africa, the middle east and south america and the result of millions of dead people and whole countries with no future,a selfish degenerate parasitic nation.

  • Zur letzen Kugel.......

  • GERMAN HEROS!!!!

  • Aaaaaaaahhh... Poor people...

  • The guys from AGFA discovered first the color couplants and the first real color film. In the same years the color film from Kodak in the USA was manually coloured by hundred of workers with brushes. After the war, AGFA was forced to give to Kodak the "secret" of the colour film as war penaltyes. It's about science, not the war... Let's appreciate this ;)

  • NUTS!

  • @EA060 Great comment

  • What made the Germans more horrible in the war is that they turned extermination into a machinery for profit. People reduced to economic values instead of have human values. Economics to be disposed of when they were of no more value. Hitler viewed all his subjects in the same regard. In the end after millions of deaths he cared only about himself. Millions of Germans went willingly along for the ride when the train left the station in 1933. Where one burns books, eventually they burn people.

  • Burn books - a quote by Thomas Mann. Learn your history American guy. Thomas Mann also wrote 'tired, sick and tired of the peace Bismarck imposed on us...the war of 1914 was a purification...a liberation...an enormous hope'. All people, everywhere, love the chance to fight "the other" when they can. I was in USA in September, 2001, seeing crowds of working class truck drivers shouting, "USA! USA!" You went along for the ride as well. Your turn.

  • Eerie

  • Heroic soldieres who defended Pomerania,Prussian,Oder from the bolshevik hordes of rapers and murderes bloody communists.

RIP to the defender of Europe against the most evil of the history,Yosif Vissarianovich Zhugasvhili or Stalin.

  • ArturoAlejandroS ! Heroic soldiers stooped bolsheviks in 1920 !. The name of their commander was Piłsudski. They stopped Tuchaczewskij Budzionnyj and Stalin hordes at Vistula river. Read about it, very interesting. They saved all Europe. Otherwise there would be no EU but Soviet Union everyplace around.

  • @PhenPhay I will investigate about it.

    Polish Soviet war.

    I hate communist criminals

  • Really, a Pole isn't nationality, but diagnosis. Soviet Russia (completely ruined by Civil War) conquers Europe in 1920? How idiotic.

In reality Poland broke armistice in April 1920, captured Kiev and Minsk, but was defeated by Red Army. Though counter-offensive of the Red Army failed because the Poles received massive aid from Entente.

  • Have you ever read this Pact, dumb Australian creature? It says nothing about any joint actions or military actions at all. It only states that "the German interests" can not stretch to the east from the certain line.

  • Putin put shit in your head. There was no western Ukraine or Belarus. There was Poland from many years. And Polish problem is to have so "good" neighbours by east and west side as Germans and Russia. But we have something that Germans and Russians do not have - HONOUR !!!

  • PhenPhay, it's really not easy to say what is Polish there. since the middle ages the region is so many times divided and has so many times other countrys as rulers. Think on th Lithuanian dynasty, and lord Curzon make a imaginary frontier, like later happend also in Korea. And all the foreign rulers try to assimilate the population.

  • That is right haller136 but nobody can say there were Polish living there. Red Army "liberated" Western Ukraine deported million of Polish people to Sibir and Kazahstan, Many of them left in unhuman soil.... We know as well that grandparents of these people lived there, and grandparents of their grandparents too... It was certified by blood of boys, 9-11 years old known as "Lwowskie Orlęta" that Lwów was "Semper Fidelis" for its motherland - Poland.

  • PhenPhay: wat concerned Lwow, you are completely right. From the middleages it's a polish city, and it's true that that region is for sure not ukrain but polish.

  • Nanu!

Es geht hier um deutsche Soldaten, warum scheut man sich hier auch auf deutsch zu schreiben?

    Feiglinge?!

  • Are the german people to blame for the second world war, and do they have to be taken to court every single day - as they are since may 8th 1945 (and before) ? I don´t think so. Although we are made to believe this. This is is crime of humanity. I am a criminal of thought !

  • Yes, but your country (Peru) was not developed at that time (but great respect for your country). But I think the colors are put on after the war. and there was color film in 1914 for example The World the Flesh and the Devil

  • The color TV was invented by the INCAS in Machupichou lol

  • Proof?

  • lol

  • The original color video by Gerhard Garms is more longer than 2:42, infact I saw some new images trasmitted by German Tv and never longer available to watch them. Who of you have the entire film?

  • They really fought until the last second. I suppose I would have too if I had done what the Germans did in World War 2. The holocaust is probably the most brutal act humankind has ever commited!

  • dithbmine1 didnt know one german mate, imagine a "kraut" is your best friend? tell my, what is the diffrens between you and me? I lived a few Years in England and what a surprise, i have very good friends in England. You have good and bad guys in every country, i am glad that i grow up in Freedom and Peace

  • Do you honour any other people than US people, dithbmine1? You know that these "krauts" had families, homes etc. Hitler just brainwashed them to build the third reich.

  • Anyone know the background music or music similiar to it? It sounds relaxing.

  • Most of the young men are innocents on both sides , being patriotic by following their leaders. It is important to question the reasons given for going to war , especially in this day and age. I could not imagine anything worse than possibly having a doubt in my mind as to the justness of my leaders cause especially knowing there will be innocents killed who had nothing to do with the reasons for going to war. Ask any man who has been in battle and he will tell you he hates war.

  • I live in the US and would not join the army when I was a teenager b/c I thought something bad was going to be done with it. I was totally right, and I knew we were headed for another vietnam. No one believes me because they think I was too young to know.

  • I am the same way, when I was a kid I was a huge U.S. patriot. But when I got into my teens I knew something was wrong. Now I know the U.S. is full of shit.

  • full of nazi spirits , you want to say.

  • leave your free to do so

  • they are only young men who protected their country and people, but the god damn politician hurted and killed people, not the soldiers.

  • I feel sorry for these guys... They're doomed...

  • holy crap this is so sad. the poor wehr. I dont think any army went through worse hardships then the wehr did in WWII. (maybe russians). But to be so triumphant for 3 years then for it all to crumble around you.. Damn...

And this video just brings a tear to my eye for those poor men. Not Nazis... They were just men fighting for their country.

  • butt hurt Wehrmacht got cockblocked as early as 1940 during the Battle of Britain.Luftwaffe proved that it was barely a tactical airforce and couldn't even protect it's own bomber operations a mere 35 miles over the English Channel.

  • I feel you man, but don't fall for the sentimentality of a lost cause or the glory of victory. The Werh troops did cop it bad, but hey, feel for the poor Polish army, crushed in their and the soviet jaws of 1939, the people of the Ukraine and other places. The message is, IMO, Don't fall for populist politics like the nazis, Bush etc.

  • na i get you im not trying to be political at all, im looking at it from a human perspective.. All these guys are just men, and its so sad to just see what the soldiers in ww2 went through. Mainly the Germans and Russians who suffered so terribly. For the germans, its the feeling of so much victory and pride, then total humiliation and defeat..

  • Many armies in the past have suffered equal or worse fates than the German army did, it's a part of war. Especially when you are outnumbered in natural resources and men like they were.

  • Can you name an Army that suffered a worse fate than the Wehrmatch??

  • I don't have any names for you besides the Soviets and Chinese in WW2, but there have been instances where entire armies have been murdered, enslaved, or tortured. Such as the one where an entire army had it's eyes plucked out and sent back to it's home country. Im obviously not very knowledgeable my self in that field of history. Also, the entire Wehrmacht did not generally suffer to the extreme except for those in Soviet custody and some in French custody.

  • Eyes plucked out? I hope they died a quick death afterwards... Is the Carthiginian Army after the battle of Zama a good example? Or maybe the decimation of the Italian Officer Corps in WWI. Anyway whatever the Wehrmacht suffered under the Soviets I believe at least the equal damage was made sure to be inflicted in the Seelower.

  • I suppose the Poles, after being attacked by the Germans, were handed over to the Soviets to be murdered at Katyn Wood and elsewhere.
