On the third week after enlightenment, from new moon to waxing crescent half moon Lord Buddha sat under yet another tree, the mysterious Mukhalinda pertaining to the Naga king of the same name, I think. Then on the last week unto the full Cunda moon, exactly one true Month, moonround he sat under this tree known as the Rajayatana, 49 days after he entered this practice under the trees that led to the enlightenment. It seems that the four trees signifies and mirrors Dharma in a most curious way..
As I have heard, Lord Buddha sat three weeks under the Bodhi three, on the full moon the fourth month, the day of his birthday, Vesak it was, he attained full awakening. Somehow he changed his position, for one more week he gazed at the Bodhi tree with complete gratitude. The subsequent week, when the moon traversed from waning crescent to black moon he was sitting under another tree, the Ajapana Banyan tree.
