I just had this disc removed after 2 years because the device failed and shifted anteriorly. I was told that my spine could collapse if the device was not removed. Looking to see if this has happened to anyone else.
Had this done in the U.K. in Jan 2010, twice c5>c6 amd c6>c7. Still aches abit between the shoulder blades but my left arm and shoulder are now completely pain free and my finger tips are back to normal.
Stil have to be careful and not push myself too much ( I am a chef patron of my own restaurant ) as I regularly work 12-15 hour days 6 days a week.
Had this done yesterday (1-28-11). Home today. A lot less pain than I anticipated. C5&C6. Most of the pain is around the back of the neck from muscle ache. First time in years that I have had neck pain with out a migraine! Whooo Hooo!!! It was worth the wait!!!
It was a Canadian Doctor that invented this. Dr Stewart Bailey London Victoria Hospital, London , Ontario, Canada. It had been available to us for over15 years now.

I had it done Dec 2005 and the FDA didn't approve it in the States till two years after so how come you say it was that doctor?
Not so fantastic results and we still don't know the outcome in the future...
