    Are you stupid or retarded? I think both. The CL9 TSX (Inline 4) runs a better quarter mile time than the 07 generation and under V6 Accord. The CU2 TSX (Inline 4) runs a better quarter mile time than the 08 generation and above V6 Accord. Stating, both generation of the TSX with the (Inline 4 engine) is faster on the 1/4 mile than any V6 Accord stock per stock. Source: Dragtimes, and please you dip shit do research before talking. Also the TSX handles better.

  • @drake123josh As a daily driver, yea the TSX's turn radius is horrendous. It's even worse when you're in a hurry to get out of the way of people plus you have to throw the shift knob from reverse to first. Kind of nerve-racking....

  • horsepower does matter as it represents torque x RPM. and more RPM means you can have higher numerical gear ratios. compare a camaro with a 3.73 final drive ratio to a honda with a 5.38 final drive; coupled with less weight the 2 are comparable. say what you want but you can do the math yourself

  • I think the haters need to go to AcuraFest, which is a highly popular Acura meet. Most of the cars there are TSXs, and this years meet there were 3 TSX with 270 WHP, and one TSX with 290 WHP. Last I checked that's why more than the G35/G37/350z/370z WHP. 370z whp = 260~265. So don't say the TSX is weak when it can be faster than those cars for cheaper. Haters need to get the fuck out!

  • Dude, this supercharged TSX just accelerated from 60-100 mph in 8 seconds, which sucks for a supercharged car of any kind. Buy a late '80s Mustang 5.0 on Craigslist for $2500, buy an Edelbrock top end kit (heads/cam/intake) for another $2000, and enjoy having a 310 whp, mid 12 second @ 110 mph car for less than $5000. If you want a fast car, don't buy an Acura or any new car. $30,000 - $40,000 for a 14-15 second car is pathetic when I can pay $5,000 for a 12 second car.

I put down a kid's '08 SI with I/H/E/Hondata/suspension/tires turning 8900 rpm with my '82 with nothing but an upgraded carb and a cheap pair of shorty headers. The TSX has a good motor but the car is heavy. TSX=slow

  • Yes my 1982 5.0 liter carbureted engine beat an bolt-on, tuned 2008 2.0 liter engine with high compression, Vtec, fuel injection, 4 valves per cylinder, reving to 8900 rpm in lighter car with a close-ratio 6 speed manual transmission. The ONLY advantage my rustang has over a 2008 SI is pure displacement, and a K20 makes up for that easily with great technology. I like and know Honda stuff (probably a lot better than yourself) so put a lid on it.

  • displacement might be the ONLY advantage but its also by far the most dominant factor in HP, and THE deciding factor on torque.

    nonetheless i agree with you, i love Honda, but American companies like ford have FINALLY started making some pretty decent cars. even dodge is making some decent stuff . sniff sniff.. i used to love to hate American cars.. now i'm torn.

  • I would not say displacement is the most dominant factor in hp. Many Japanese and European companies are building sports cars that make more hp with a smaller engine which should tell you something. If displacement was the best and easiest option for power, they would simply use bigger engines. Let's say we have two 302 engines and we want to build more power. The more air/fuel charge you get in and out of an engine, the more power it makes (in very basic, gross terms). Continued....

  • (Cont) Putting a set of worked over 351 Cleveland heads (2.19"/1.71" valves and big ports, worked over to be even larger) or if you were a BIG TIME fabricator, a pair of 4 valve heads, on one 302, and boring and stroking the other 302 with stock heads to 400 cubic inches, the engine with the big heads would move more air and make more power than the 400, guaranteed. Another example is turbocharging. You're just forcing a TON more air in an engine, and it makes a ton of power.

  • (Cont 2) Displacement is the POTENTIAL for power, but there are much better ways to make it. 4 valve heads, high flow induction and exhaust systems, valvetrains with variable valve timing and systems that allow conservative camshaft profiles at low rpm for fuel economy, emissions, driveability and low-end response, and then switch to an aggressive camshaft profile at high rpm to maximize power without sacrificing ANYTHING at low rpm (Vtec), more compression, etc are better ways to make power.

  • No clue why people diss the TSX. Did you know it only cost 28~29K for this generation fully loaded OTD (Out the door). Lets see.. compare that to a fully loaded 08 G35 that is 40K OTD. A G35 does high 13s? 13.8 area. Cost about 11~12K more. An Acura TSX does high 14s. 1K~2K for Hondata chip. Bring it to mid 14s, 2K~3K for SC, and 1~2K for i/h/e. At most it will cost 7K to make the TSX faster than the G35, and look at that its still cheaper than the G35. I seen modded TSX take on G/Z.

  • Stick shifts are hella fun, but since 2008 automatic trannies have become more advanced at high rpm shifting, cvt, and other bs i haven't heard of. Performance is great and a little funnier with slap sticks, shift paddles, and rev matching. I'm just saying their not always slower or by enuff to mention, plus sometimes you dont have a choose.

  • maybe would have been more impressive with the 6 speed manual. Tiptronic is nothing like the manual as it is computer controlled, so it won't really let you do what you want no matter what. Wasn't too impressed but still cool. TSX owners know it's not a sports car, but still fun to drive.

  • its actually a tiptronic transmission which is auto and manual at the same time which u can shift to auto or the manual gears.

  • Triptronic is nothing like manual. It's still an auto box with an auto ecu and no clutch. Still it is fun.

  • tsx when you run a supercharger the redline increases so the guage redline isn't the correct one.

    Also on an auto it has a rev limit.

  • Car is fast, that is all that matters. Depends on the tyranny if it can handle the increased torque. If it's within it's limits, I see no issue except voiding your power train warranty.

  • you do realise that an auto box is stronger than a manual box? Most drag cars use auto box's such as the 3 speeds ;)

  • That is competely unture except in effect to drag racing. In drag racing you ultilize the torque converter on an essentially manual transmission, you eliminate the need for a time wasting clutch between gears. The TC in street automatic cars is the weak point and will start to slip and give up if you get on it too hard for a lot of miles. In an old GM or Ford its not to expensive to fix but on newer computerized trannies its extremely expensive.

  • that means he turned off the vehicle stability assistance VSA. helps prevent unnecessary wheel spin in rain or snow. it's usually a good idea to turn these things off with superchargers or turbos, too long to explain why.
