Luca Turilli is a genius. Not only he is able to traverse through different styles, (dude, this is like gothic meets RoF-like symphonic metal meets electronic music and rithmic guitar riffs), but his melodies, song structures, and all that, are always very well worked.

while I DO prefer Rhapsody over this, it's still a great show on how great a musician Luca is.

I bought this album for no other reason than that Luca Turilli's name was on it. He still does kick ass music. I love his stuff with Rhapsody of Fire, which was where I first heard of him. His lyrics and lyrical themes are just as in depth as his music. And Luca writes all his own stuff. Talk about sheer talent. Meanwhile we have half-baked nitwits like Britney Spears at the top of the charts while true artists like Luca Turilli are relatively unknown.

I much echo the reccomendation of Kamelot. Their Epica and Black Halo albums are particularly choice.

Don't know how well this suggestion'll go over, but I'd also reccomend Blind Guardian. They have an entire album based on The Silmarillion!

You can't escape the fact that it was quite offensive, by ending it with "No offense". Most people might not know, since many emos tend to listen to Turilli, becourse of the cool text. Some other's might do it becourse they ARE actully able to decrypt the metaphors. Yes they tend to fly around the same subject, but some people do enjoy such things. But the point here is, that there is a deeper meaning with most LT music. And people who visit this page to hear it, don't care about your opinion.

The people who complain his DQ work isn't 'metal' enough are obviously not fans of LT. He explained, in depth, that this was a project intended to explore his piano/keys ability. He wanted to merge techno, rock, and - oh noes- nu metal. He doesn't even do the guitars here (Dominique is still a god, though). Anyway, it's a project. They do typically deviate from normal material. Otherwise, why bother?
