The programs I've seen will let you change pitch but it only sounds good if you pitch it down. If you try pitching a trumpet up it sounds like hell.

do some of the ppl that do instrumental multitracks like this use a program to sound different or more clearer??? if so is there a download to it?

I don't know about sounding clearer, but there are programs that tune, and then you can always set the trumpet up an octave and play that way so it sounds like your playing high even if your not.

Yeah, I pitch things down to sound like a tuba....but if I were to try and pitch it up it would sound like a trumpet on helium

eh, maybe not pitching then, but i believe there is a software of some kind that can do it. Maybe more of an imitation thing though. Someone plays a note, it gets recorded, and when someone plays with the frequency of that note (but down an octave) and it produces the other note instead. Would be some pretty complicated stuff to work out, but if i was a programmer I'd be interested in it.
