@zappload Hi, sorry I can't really remember I built this like 3 years ago. The over heat protection cuts out at 90'c and I used to reduce all the over heat protection buy 10'c. I think it used to get as high at 70'c. If you have a hi airflow case you will see a small drop in temps. The 8800GTX's have now both died and it's just got a GT240 in it and all the setting are back to stock.
Is it recommended to have the 2 8800gtx's 1 slot apart? I have 2 8800gtxs too but they're virtually on top of eachother and was wondering if I should move the second one down a slot. Thanks!
That memory is from OCZ. Don't buy it because it requires to much voltage and I could never find a stable outcome . I changed the ram to Corsair TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF and it is very stable. you can use the SLI mode with the Corsair TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF using only two DIMM slots if you buy 4 sticks of ram the BIOS 1601 and above will not let you use SLI mode.
Thanks man i got 2 OCZ golds 1066 and i saw in the BIOS the message: due to chipset limitation only 2 SLI ready memorys can be installed. and i watched this video and got confused. Yes i'm hatting OCZ memory.... i put it on 2.3v 1150 5-5-5-15 and some days get stable and some unstable...
DDR2 ram has good pricing now. I bought the Corsair 4GB kit for less then one of the 2GB kits of OCZ. I also got a CROSSHAIR SLi 590 and had OCZ ram in that it it kept freezing up now and then and I also changed the ram to Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C4DHX and works fine no problems underload. Unless OCZ says low voltage I wont be buying it anytime soon.
Thanks!!. Some people complain about it being unstable but have not had any problems. 2x GTX260's should give you smooth game play. I was thinking about upgrading to 2x GTX285 but I might wait until is W7 released and see what Nvidia has to offer.
yeah i heard some people had some problems, but for me is very stable, i have my q6600 over clocked to 3.4 on water and no problems at all :]]], and 2x gtx 285 would be soo awesome :] by the way i just looked at your set up and is almost similar to mine i also have ocz sli ram at 1066 nice!, but i have coolermaster 690 nvidia edition. i wanted to upgraded to i7 but naw i love my system, maybe in a year or two :]
Between 20 and 30 degrees celsius. About 38 in the summer. The 8800GTX's pump out alot of heat so I'm sure the temp might go down if I bought 55nm cards or newer.
Ok I checked Antec and Thermaltake and Tt was 628w and Antec was 630w. Then I put together a system I might build later and that came to 802w or dual CPU was 933w. I sold my old gaming PC to my dad for this power supply lol so it was a good deal for him plus he will always gets free upgrades.
I know 1200w it a bit much but I didn't want to make any mistakes building a new PC. I built a PC with a Antec 550w NeoHE and that cannot support this PC and was half the price, it was not worth buying a power supply that will support my current specs I'll build another PC next year or 2010 and I'll need heavy duty PS for the latest CPU and dual GPU's and other parts, I found some posts where people need more than there 650w and 750w for Core i7 & dual GTX295's plus all the other parts running
How's the Striker II holding up? I plan on going SLI with two xfx gtx 260 core 216 black editions and Im searching for a good SLI MOBO but I can't find one... Everyone says the northbridge on this board and all 780i's gets too hot....
I cant recall having any heat issues I have liquid cooling for the CPU which Im sure takes away some heat and I have a smaller fan pointing straight at the CPU north and south bridge I set my over heat protection at 80 degrees just in case but it never gets that hot. You can just mount a fan in front of these parts if its of any real consern. The only unstable part is the ram when overclocking I'd but Corsair next time.
I have not had any problems with my mobo yet except that I have to increase my volts to the ram so it won't freeze up. My current setup allows me to play games at 1900x1200 max AA but not Crysis. I got Vista 64bit and it's pretty stable running games.
6 ozc reaper ram 1066, but i dnt knw shit, can you tell me you bios version and voltages you used to over clock or may be make a tutorial. please can you help me dumb ass!
BIOS 0601 CPU 1.4volts PLL 1.6 CPU VTT 1.38 RAM 2.1 timming at 5-5-5-15 2 clocks MB Core Volts 1.40 SB Core 1.60 1.2V HT Voltage 1.20 Bridge Core Volts 1.20 I have downclocked everything (except ram its not stable at default setting)there is not really any game I can't run at max settings just Crysis I saved overclocking guide line for you in my favorite's it called "ASUS Striker II Formula 780i" When I upgraded to BIOS 1101 my setting had changed so I didnt bother overclocking again.
What are the temps your q6600 with the bigwater. I have the B3 q6600 my 780e keeps temps in the 40's. I either need new water cooling cause its not getting the job done or I need a new cooler running cpu
Mine idles about 20 to 25 degrees Celsius depending on the room temp. AI Booster (from ASUS) is the program that gives my temperatures, also when I check my BIOS the temp shows about the same so I pretty sure it's correct.
You can try and increase you fan speed on your 780e and that should help with the cooling, mine is set to about half.
The Zalman Reserator XT sits out side your comp but it costs alot. It's worth getting a powerful PSU if you go tri SLi and it good for upgrading to newer video cards that use loads of power. Overclocking also puts stress on the PSU so that might be another reason for getting a good PSU. My CPU under load get to about 32 degress and idles from 20 to 26 degrees depending on room temp and gets as low a 7 degrees if its cold in winter.
thanks man yeh i was thinking some wher along the linse of ither a 3 fan rad and 2 pumps
res, 1st pump, voltage blocks, north br, south br, 2nd pump, CPU, 1st GPU, 2nd GPU, 3 fan radiator, back to res
or have 2 lops
1 for the CPU, voltage blocks, north and south br and 1 for the GPU s
but either way its costly and goner keep everything super cool im a modder and somewhat new to O/C but im getting their the only thing stopping me is my pc that i got now =/ mostly the mobo np with cooling atm
I don't think it will be I run mine at stock setting only cuz I don't have any problems running any games. It would mostly depend on your M/B. BIOS and WHQL Drivers and dont install a beta BIOS unless you got problems. I installed Vista 64bit the other day and it runs even smoother.
Thanks mate!!..Although its never as perfect as it seems lol...I didn't get to install my Ageia card in this computer because I installed the X-Fi as it is more useful and works 10 times better then the sound card ASUS give you the BASS is much better with my speakers and I only use the ageia for GRAW 1 & 2...

If it's not working then take it back under warranty and claim Dead on Arrival (DOA). People get problems with all sorts of brands. I don't care who makes it, just try and get the best warranty with it. Motherboards are really the only computer part I ever get problems with.
seeing about 3gb of ram in 32bit windows is the norm, in vista the have suppose to fixed this in sp1 (not sure about xp tho), but don't download it yet as it is still being tested..
32 bit can see up to 4GB of memory
64 bit can see up to 128GB of memory HOWEVER in vista home premium 64 bit there is a limit of 16gb of memory

I see, no it's just that at the date of the video, 2x8800GTXs would probably no be the ideal set of cards to get. :p
As the wires go - yeah, I see - of course. It's just that it seems like it could be stuck to the non see-through bit of the panel, but nm i guess...

Nice rig though.
Are the wires near the top of the case for fans? IMO at least it would be cool if they were made less visible. :p
