Speaking of slam poetry on Twitter, I realized I had not watched this yet (hence why I didn't comment until now). I loved the box metaphor. How true is it? It gave me the image of a coffin.
As someone working to improve her own poetry, I wonder if I should record a few of my new works. It seems fun. :)
Really nice. A really solid message and completely took me there. Have had moments of this nature. it has such a deep meaning in so few words. really great. The part 1 signifies that there will be others which is good to hear. Have you been writing poetry long?
Not really. I just started writing again this year... I had been on a prolonged hiatus since about 10th grade. I wrote a few little things for my high school's magazine, but nothing that I put much effort into.
I'm planning on recording again tonight. I don't exactly know the total amount of readings I'll do, but I can guarantee there will be at least five.
I meant to have to have it a little darker, but the halogen light that I have is as bright as the sun. I'm going to work on that in the next video. Camera angles, different area, lighting, all of it... this is going to be an experiment in A) poetry reading and B) camera work.
getting away and out into nature is awesome and I wish I could do it more often. I think I'm due for a hike in the mountains next time it warms up a bit more.
(I stayed up a few extra minutes to see this before heading off to bed). Look forward to the next instalment...if there is one, as the title would suggest.

Short answer: Yes, you should.
I'd listen. And critique, if you let me. I love talking about art, in case you can't tell by now.

Trevor, you're made of awesome. It's clear.
Trevor, you're so clever, I grin from ear to ear.
Trevor is a poet and not many people know it.
But Trevor is so jokes and this is how he shows it!
Lol that comment turned into a little poem. :)

You're a John Keats in the making. Hopefully, minus the "dying at 25" part.

Of course, it was wonderful good sir.
I don't think it had as much of an effect on me as when I read it though. Not sure why.
By the way, did you do the shadow on purpose? That just put an extra kick of awesome in the video.

BTW Since you made this video, that means you finished your lab report beforehand, right? riiiiiight?

Kind of... I just had to write the conclusion. I was Geology'd out, and I wanted to do this, so... yeah.

Geology Rocks!

Leslie and I discussed this same topic last night.
Geology is an ironic subject. Because it does NOT rock.
Two drums and a cymbal fall off a cliff. You know the rest.

I'm glad you got something out of this.
And, yes. There will be more. I have at least 5 slated for recording.
