  • hi i like this motor weher can buy .thanks

  • hi .wehere can buy this motor

  • I sold all of my electric bicycles after i got a 66cc gas powered motor kit for 130 dollars brand new from zoom bikes. I wasted thousands of dollars here in vancouver canada from local electric bicycle companys. Trust me when i say dont waste your money on electric bike stuff which will cost you thousands of dollars when for 130 bucks you can have a way better bike.plus it doesnt take three hours to charge, i can get a hundred miles a gallon.Just make sure you wear your helmet then cops stayway

  • Hi

i was woundering how this bike fits in with the legal side of things.

does it class as a moped ?

did the bike need testing to make sure it complies for road use?

    thanks

    cam

  • @rckidcam1994 From what I understand it would be illegal in the UK. There are regulations covering the power output and maximum power assisted speed for e-bikes. I think these limits are 200W and 15MPH.

  • @madras9096 That's right, the law is due to change though shortly to bring our law inline with EU law.. the motor power will be increased to 250W but the UK gov has accepted 250W already due to the existing EU law... the speed will still be restricted to 15mph but the existing freedom we enjoy to travel on throttle-only without pedaling will be removed on all future new bikes sold once the EU law is adopted. From what I understand the EU law won't apply to bikes sold before the law change tho.

  • I have a Mini 40 Mile Busettii bike and it runs 50-55 miles on one battery charge. I also tried my friends Vortex Mountain bike by Busettii. It ROCKS ! Can get up to 32 mph top speed, and on one charge that bike set the new record of 86 miles. Hope it becomes a big hit. In California many people like Busettii because they cost around $1700 but can go 50--86 miles on one charge depending on model. Maria in Cali

  • Also, I have some questions maybe here can be answered:

my electric chair is here, under "malanga13" videos. Uses 2x 12v 10ah batt. can I add one more keeping the same current in order to increase range? or can I buy bigger batteries for longer range (speed is gradual, 0 to 15 mph). And last, if I reverse the cables, will I get reverse? I use it as wheelchair only, slow crawl. motor is 300 w, 24v. Any one can help me much appreciated, need to buy batts soon.

  • it looks great. my only concern would be that it is top heavy because of the battery. In Cuba, the few electric ones I've seen had the battery mounted in front of the motor. In essense, almost same set up as here, with the motor at the bottom, and the battery would continue at the same horizontal level, past the pedals, and sit in the front. I rode one near my house for 4 blocks and I never once felt out of balance. However, my own, which has the battery on top as this one, is unbalanced. Great!

  • Hi,

I dont see a controller anywhere?

Is there one on your bike?

If not, arent you worried to overheating the battery or the motor?

    Greetings

  • @IceEngine21 - The controller on the 500 watt motor is built into the motor itself so no external controller box and less wires.

  • does the bike recharge if you pedal or go downhill?

  • The kits don't have regenerative braking though not sure how effective that type of system is really and have heard it only puts minimal power back into the battery.

  • how do these motors do going up hills?

  • The motors work great going up hills though to keep speeds up and conserve battery power you would really need to pedal also. As average cycling speeds are higher you will find you can hit the hills at a much higher speed and use the momentum to carry you up. The kits make hills and strong headwinds so much easier and do a lot of the hard work for you.

  • How much do they run?

  • My 24v LifePo4 battery will do around 10 miles if I'm riding flat out with some pedaling (with good average speed of around 25mph) however if you use the motor a bit more sparingly you could achieve 15+ miles on a single charge.

  • I would like information as to where to buy the kit alone to convert my bike please

  • Hi you can buy the kits from eclipsebikesdotcom as well as various other kits.

  • Braided cable bicycle locks can be cut through with bolt cutters, like a hot knife through butter! Check out the reviews for braided cable locks on Halfords website, lots of very poor reviews from people who've had their bikes stolen. Hardened steel chains are much more secure.

  • Thanks for the warning. Don't really like leaving my bike unattended for long & remove the battery if I do. Will remember though for next time I go shopping for bike lock.

  • HI I Love Your Bike How Much For Bike With Moter ,and how much for kit only i live in the USA thank you oliver1956

  • I'm considering making on these bikes.....just researching stuff for now.

Question for you....I take it the batteries are expensive or am I looking in the wrong places..

    Where do you source yours?

  • Would recommend you go for LifePo4 battery which are light, powerful & have long life cycle. Are quite expensive initially however long term work out good value. I use green cell 40138 batteries which I have to import into UK.

  • join endless sphere forum and buy the A123 cells on ebay right now. there really cheap comparred to how they used to cost. makeem your self after a bit of chat on the forum, its getting hold of a balancer is the thing id say. i saw 30 A123 cells for 99 pounds on ebay.

  • Is that the green 40138 cells as that's what I use with my bike. Haven't seen anyone selling them in the UK yet & generally seen them selling for around $35 per cell.

  • theyve all sod now i checked a few days ago. not suprised really. i am unaware if they are the 40138

    cells

  • is that a brushless motor?

  • Yes it is a brushless 24v 500 watt motor

  • arent you worried about the police taking it and crushing it? i have 650 watt 37 volt and am worried to take it out.

  • UK law for electric bikes limits the motor to a maximum of 200 Watts with a top speed of 15 mph on a flat surface & this classifies it as nothing more than a bicycle.Anything more powerful is for off road use only or classified as a motor vehicle if used on the public roads,in which case it would need to be registered with the DVLA,display a number plate & have insurance, road tax & an MOT.All electric bikes in the UK are governed by the Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle (EAPC) Regulations 1983.

  • How can we get one of these motor kits? They seem like they are far and away better than anything else out there.

  • The mountain bike is a Claud Butler Cape Wrath D27 (2007 model). Were riginally £500 but you can get a bit cheaper now. I got mine nearly new for just over £300 through Ebay. Has good quality disc brakes & received 'best buy' reviews at the time.

  • Could you let me know the make and model of the bike you attached this to. If I buy one i would like the same setup as its known working.

  • Yes I supply these online & currently have kits in stock if you require anything. They're great fun & make commuting by bike a much more viable alternative.

  • These look really good.I will be buying one of these kit on ebay at xmas. Are you the guy that actually sells them?
