• God bless you Michael.

  • Michael Moore's humanity is founded in his religion. It does not really matter what that religion is as they, relgions of the world, put care of others at their very core. A humane, caring society will ensure that the homeless are given shelter, the hungry given food and the sick given treatment.

  • Michael is the man. Michael is the man. One of the best movies I have ever seen. Because of this movie, I am now in favor of social everything.

  • im an athesist form the uk and i agree with michael. This is not a matter of religion or faith. This is a matter of humanity

  • I am suddenly disgusted by Michael. How can any decent civilised human believe in god.

    Un-freaking-believable!

  • I agree with Michael on most things but him being Catholic Christian surprises me too. How about making a film about all the sleeze, corruption, crimes and injustice the Catholic church is hiding, Michael!! I'm sure you will find some really juicy stuff...This goes to some degree for all religious institutions as far I am concerned.

  • What a cunt you truly are.... mother Terersa and Adolf Hitler went to the same place when they died did they?! What a cunt.....

  • Yep. They both went to the same place. Nowhere. They were dead after all.

  • Go Michael!!! If only they had people like him in government- not only in the US but worldwide- what a great world it would be truly.

  • the american government yeah...

but not other governments with that system..

GOVERNMENT SHOULD BE AFFRAID OF IT'S PEOPLE!

NOT THE PEOPLE, AFFRAID OF IT'S GOVERNMENT!

FREEDOM is not within US soil. not since 1913

  • People need to care and get involed in the political process so, shit won't get run like that. Amtrack. man.

  • michael moore for president!!!!!!!

  • as a Christian, I agree and support Michael Moore! it's about WE, not ME.

  • wow.... the first real Christian i have heard from in a while... most only care about themselves and people who agree with them... I love the Christians who claim they are really Christians but don't give a shit about anyone else... and i ask, didn't jesus say something about sharing and loving your neighbor

  • Health care won't help him stay alive if he runs for president, they would treat him to the same fate they showed Kennedy. Sad but true.

  • There is a Huge Difference in People whats in their DNA what is their Nature Zionists are Rechabites "kenites' now do your home-work you sound very simple KUCINICH 2008** read other than USA papers and Media its Brainwash owned by ZIONIST wake up

  • Kucinich / Conyers has the BEST PLane out of all of them HR676 read and WEEP its so Good No its Fantastic !

  • 23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! 24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

    Mark 10:23-25

  • I'm for national health care, BUT THE CLINTONS' PLAN - KEEPING *ALL* THE PRIVATE INSURANCE COMPANIES INVOLVED - WOULD HAVE BEEN A HUGE BUREAUCRATIC *DISASTER* - AND PEOPLE COULD *STILL* HAVE BEEN DENIED PAYMENT FOR INDIVIDUAL INSTANCES!

ONE *GOOD* UNIVERSAL SINGLE PAYER PUBLIC NATIONAL HEALTH CARE PLAN FOR *ALL* CITIZENS IS THE ONLY WAY TO BEGIN.

And then we use what works best in other universal national health care countries and skip any shortcomings.

  • Ya...I'm sure that Jesus said "Support a strong, centralized Roman Federal government with higher taxes so the government will take care of the poor"...Jesus believed in INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY and private charity. But that's something that scares people nowdays.

  • Hmm. I don't recall anything in the Bible where Jesus promotes individual responibility and private charity. Are you sure you've not gotten Republican propaganda and the teachings of Jesus Christ mixed up? Too many people have, after all, the right has spent billions conning people like you into thinking they're both the same thing.

Take a look at your Bible again. I think you're confused.

  • "When I was hungry I applied for food stamps...when I was naked I lobbied for a new government program to give poor people clothing..." just doesn't have the same ring to it.

  • You just keep paying the insurance companies 4 times what it would cost "us" if we all pooled together and ousted them. They have proven to be crooked, lying, underhanded and wasteful with our premiums. I for one will opt to fire them all and put it under public scrutiny.

  • Many of you have already made up your minds on the subject. But the truth is that the main problem is what economists call "3rd party payer". When your BOSS buys your insurance for you, he does it in a way to save himself money. We need to DISCOURAGE "3rd party payer system INCLUDING Michael Moore's terrible idea of making the government the "ultimate 3rd party payer". We need a system of free markets, private charity and individual responsibility.

  • Your theory may be partially right. However, I paid my own premiums when I was self employed. After six years of paying, when I needed a necessary, minor surgery, $5,000, my claim was denied after the doctor had gotten pre approval. No free markets for me when it comes to my health care. Thanks, but no thanks. It would work, in theory - just not in this real greedy world.

  • No You are confuse JESUS The CHRIST would Have UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE FOR ALL ! I say The Rosary every day The more I pray the More Power Mother Mary Has to help us get HR676

  • Everyone should see Sicko. Even if you don't like Moore, what he exposes about the reality of the health care field is astounding.

  • heart bypass in the United States costs $130,000, but just $10,000 in India and $11,000 in Thailand. A hip replacement in the United States would cost $43,000 but just $12,000 in Thailand or Singapore. Hysterectomy costs are about $20,000 here but $3,000 in India. Please encourage medical tourism.

  • A Pixar movie will always make more money than a political documentary. Its entertainment that appeals to a much wider demographic that includes young couples who want to bring their young children to a movie Sicko is a political documentary and political documentaries never make loads of money, nor do they for better or worse appeal to as wide a demographic as a Pixar animated film or for that matter a PG-13 rated Die Hard. That Sicko is anywhere within the top ten is relatively incredible

  • Its funny how a person like ***cough.. cough... "K3304" attacks someone who is trying to help people, justified his points by saying a cartoon movie made more money. It tells alot about the person. Doesn't know how to make a decent and polite argument. So everyone in canada,France, pretty much the whole industrailzed country is Liberals. Canadian Conservative party started the universal health care in canada.

  • I paid $7 grand a year for BSBC and when I got cancr they dumped me .When I got PMS they gave me VIOXX!

  • HEY YOU LIBERAL ASSHOLES

Sicko came in no.9 at the weekend box office

took in a whopping $4.5 million. Google It.

  • Hey dipshit, health care isn't just a liberal issue.

It concerns every single living American, including you.

Think before you open your ignorant mouth.

  • Hey MORON,

It was only on 441 screens and had a higher per screen average than Die Hard 4.

  • earonoff, you forgot to mention that a friggin cartoon pulled in 10 times the cash than Sicko did.

    Thanks for trying, though

  • Very true. And the friggin cartoon was also on 10 times as many screens. Funny how that works out.

  • earonoff, and WHY was that cartoon on 10 times the screens ??? Could it be the distributors KNEW that it would sell 10 times more ?

  • No, becouse they was based on politics. Look what his other movies done. And with this all news buzz, It could have done much more...

  • I'd do a film on healthcare too if I was 5 minutes away from a heart attack.

  • I dont see ANY pics of you so I have to guess that you arent as "Goodlooking" as Moore? Shame on you for trying for a cheap laff by making a personal attack on the man who, after all, is trying to point out the failings of a system that YOU may one day be subject to. What positive steps have you done to better the world around you- by a new mouse for your computer?

  • screw you!!!.....you hilarious bastard.

  • No you wouldn't. You can't be bothered making a YouTube video, so making a film? Get real.

  • Everyone: I just wrote a letter to my congressman, urging him to improve our health system, and I haven't lived in the US for 4 years (though still a US citizen). If I can do something, so can you. If you walk out of Sicko hoping that you'll get better health care, but then do nothing, then you will have wasted the momentum created by this film. We must act now if we want change!

  • I did, too. I wrote to both impeach bush/cheney AND to beg them to reverse their years of wrong doing by getting serious about installing a single-payer national insurance program for all americans. Thanks!

  • the fact that people are dying because they can't afford care is ridiculous. and the only way one can get help is by going totally broke in order to qualify for medicare. this all makes perfect sense to lawmakers (mostly the right wing), who are paid off by the drug/insurance companies.

  • (and dont forget by the state, as they deny the citizens)

  • a friend has went through HELL (can't emphasize that enough) dealing with a chronic disease and being ran in circles by state HMO, and treated like crap by docs, so sad so many deal with this.

MICHAEL MOORE - "after Iraq, I don't want my government telling me who my enemies are" - AMEN

our gov't has TORTURED kids and women in prisons in Iraq! This is NOT the Christianity I love - bush is a cancer on decency...

  • (And torture kids and old men at Cuba...)

  • Hey folks - watching a movie won't bring us health care, as you know. It's time to act. This is the big enchilada. Universal health care will not be given to us without serious effort, as the HMO industry will fight it tooth and nail. Ask yourself how did slavery end? How did we get labor laws? How did women get the right to vote? All came through organized action - they were not gifts. Together, we can do it. I'm gonna start writing letters to whomever I can.

  • Kind of a fluff piece from mainstream media! Those questions they threw at Moore are all softballs. Oh well, what do you expect?

  • Im voting for Ron Paul The Only one whos not a corrupt lier

  • Why does that surprise you, idiot? You act surprised that libs can be deeply religious. He's a good Catholic boy indeed, and a Christian from what I can see. Public health should be a big concern to all Christians.

  • Michael Moore is a Lemming and you are all the flies that buzz around him.

  • yes michael is a god

  • Mike, I love ya but shut the FUCK UP! You let this guy inject relig. bs into this conversation about universal HC. How is what I believe going to matter when I need HC? Most countrys that have UHC (canada, uk, france, etc), don't even come close to the religious doctrane of the US. The point that I think MM came close to making was "how can we be a deeply relig. country and deny our own people accesable HC".

  • That is actually funny.

In Sweden we have had a state church until 10-15 years ago. If ANY political party would have ANY political statement refering to God and "God bless Sweden" like any American president or senator do, he/she would be band by their party on the spot.

And then America is supposed to have no connection between state and religion. (And acvtually they don't, if you look at their actions :D)

  • Well. The Christian-democrats are actually a part of the "allians-regering" - the coalition that currently governs Sweden. Just search for the word "GUD" (Swedish for God) on their webpage; and you'll get several statements alluding to GOD from Alf Svensson (a former head of the party) and other officials. Still; about 80% all Swedes are atheists or agnostics; and yet; we have a very humane healthcare system.

  • Funny how our vaunted media swarms over Michael Moore's every move...but the idea of similarly swarming over Bush's justification for war just didn't occur to them.

MSM: We make money the oldest profession way...

  • I've seen it.. It's great movie! It's something that will be probably best movie of the year..

  • RUN, MIKE, RUN!!!!!!

  • 15 days to SICKO!! Go Mike :)

  • Moore is a Saint!

  • yeah a saint that made 100 million dollars from his last movie and is planning on making the same for this one !

  • So, you're against capitalism? Amazing how all the "patriot moore bashers" will become hypocrites and trash their own system they supposedly are so patriotic about just to bash more.

  • I'm voting for Ron Paul and the question isn't capitalism but him being so righteous when he's stuffing himself of all this money and luxury.

  • You should be happy that someone "rich" is sticking up for the little guy. What you're basically saying is, if you're rich, you can't possibly help others.

  • again it's about human lives not about Left and right..

    or Communism against Capitalism

  • Still, privatization of public services is a capitalist thing, since it allows for more profits - at the expense of the common good (public health in this case).

Otoh, the Dem party has contributed to privatization almost as much as the Repub party.

  • Here in Finland we have Universal Health care

and We have Private hospitals.. So we have mixed Healthcare for those who don't have money.. But the UHC primary source of medical help.. So if you have an accident the ambulance will take you strate to public hospital.. It works here.. Nobody is left behind. We take care of our poor..

  • exactly! ...and that's how it's done in many countries around the world! it's funny how confused americans are by the concept, everyone should agree on this issue. If not I'm curious of their argument.
