I saw the Blues Brothers the other day for the first time. When i heard this song, i started singing outloud along to the song. When it was done my parents just stared at me for a few minutes without saying anything. Then my dad said: ''Son, where have you learned to get such a good taste in music?''
@gmosphere This man was the reason MTV,BET existed in the first place say hello to the FATHER OF THE MODERN DAY MUSIC VIDEO.His hit song "CALDONIA" was the first song to be viewed as a music video back in the 40's
@Neversellyoursoul1 This man was known as the KING OF THE JUKEBOX he was one of the pioneers for a style of music called JUMP BLUES.Music historians like Quincy Jones said this style of music was the predessor for everything you heard in the past, present and will hear in the future.
@cokemall hey man ya us gamers are not saying its only good with the game think about it this song is now opened to the newer generations in a way the game just brought it back you should be happy that gamers playing mafia 2 liked it
@GsusFreakid first of all, i dont care if its a classic, this song is from 50' and i born on 90' SO o can u expect that everybody know this song? guys like me can discover it thorough THAT game, and its not stupid, u are. sry for my english
@programaciontecnica Sorry, I didn't read which song. I posted his "What's the Use of Getting Sober". Can't play many video games because I'm a quadriplegic. I'm a young 59. I was 20 once, and I remember wilder times than playing video games. No shame in being any age unless you're snotty about it.
I actually learned of him by total accident because I meant to search for Louis Armstrong but forgot that it was Armstrong and thought it was Jordan, soooo... yeah, once I heard the songs he made I was a Jordan fan since.
I fucking love this music. Now look at the bullshit music we have like Ke$ha and Lady GaGa and all this shitty music. What happend to this awesomeness!?
@julianrocks11 Hell yeah brother!!! I love that fucking game sooooooo much man. I beat it on hardest difficulty and didn't get the achievement for it... grrrrr >:(
I think it sucks that music like this is only popular because of a video game. When that video game stops being played (because of whatever new console comes out), so will great artists like this.
There is,of course, another great version of this by The Genius,Ray Charles.Louis Jordan was a huge influence on Ray,Sonny Rollins,Van Morrison, and countless other great musicians!
@postatility Yes Ray did his version live and Quincy Jones did a version of this classic as well from his CD "Q's Jook Joint".This man's skill is the reason the music business is in existence today.
I see other people remember this song from the first Blues Brothers film. It was played (ironically) when Jake and Elwood had just reunited at the nasty, dismal apartment of one of them; the setting was nothing like "good times".
And then Carrie Fisher pulls up outside and fires a shoulder-held rocket launcher and blows up the entire building. The Brothers just climb out of the debris, dust themselves off, and go off on their adventures.
Please stop saying Mafia II is the reason you're here. Sure its a great game but you should enjoy this era in music for what it is and not what its in. Louis isn't even the singer, its Sam Butera & The Witnesses. Both versions are great. But Sam is the singer on the game.
someone explain something to me. when did they make a 2nd RnB genre? i put in RnB on Google to look for musicians like this but i found a bunch of teenagers the girls wear slutty outfits and the boys sing really high notes you think they're girls. what the hell happened to music.
The music is here for your enjoyment- That's the good thing about it it will last long after we're all gone and someone in the future will be saying that Lady GaGa is what music should be. What crap we have today.
