Taylor Swift actually writes her own songs, has a good voice, and she actually has talent; so I don't see anything wrong with her colliding with Def Leppard. It shows how much passion for music she has and what influenced her in her own music. (If anything, the drums were what needed saving after Rick Allen lost his left arm. The fills lost their flash and the drum samples were monotonous.)

Taylor's singing is soft and wispy, and it fits the heartfelt songs she composes. This performance was back in 2008, and her voice has greatly improved since then. Of course she sounds younger here. I appreciate that she has a positive attitude and a mature mindset. Her personality is relaxed, and I always see her as a rare find for the limelight.
A lot of people have hated on this performance.... Swift doesnt have the vocal range for rock (and frankly neither does Elliot anymore), and I have long hated on country music (I consider it a oxymoron). But this was a lot of fun. This performance is what live music is supposed to be all about. I wanted to hate it and ended up favoriting it instead.... until some cried COPYWRITE INFRINGMENT.... bastards.
I don't have a problem with this; the Leps were always a commercial band and singing with Taylor Swift can only raise their profile some, which at this stage in their (long) post MTV career they can use.
However, I wasn't impressed with Taylor's singing. I've heard a lot about her but really, this could have been just about any person singing. I saw no chops on her duet on Photograph.

On through the night a cult album, High 'n dry too edgy even for a metal band(at the exception of Bringing the heartbreak and Switch 625), Pyromania the perfect one for a road trip and Hysteria THE Blockbuster, the album that put the Jovis and the Roses to the MTV map, so praise Def Leppard! On the other hand Adrenalize is lacking of inspiration but Slang is the perfect answer for those who still thing of Lep as a shallow band(what?) with an american sound(excuse me?)...

Def Leppards best album was High N Dry, followed by On Through The Night and then Pyromania. Hysteria was pop rocks, I loved it, but not as much as their first three.

lol agree with Joe,sucks they are always going to be compared to Hysteria. That was a massive album that took years to make, tons of money, and with the assistance and songwriting of Steve Clark and Mutt Lange along with the rest of the band members. They are still doing albums, but nothing they do will match the match the amount of work that went into the production of Hysteria. Still I can't wait for the next album, Phil said it's going to be the most edgy in a long time, so that's exciting.

I remember adrenalize sold around 6 million back in the day when it was released, so it could have made it to 7 million by 2010 or vault. but I believe the 7 million Joe was referring to was pyromania, as it didn't reach 10 million sold until this century. it sold around 6 or 7 million back in 83.
Other songs went together really well. I thought When Love and Hate Collide and Hysteria were really good too as well as some of Taylor's songs. The DVD Exclusives like "Love" sounded a lot better live on crossroads together than it does on the Sparkle Lounge album, imo, and "Two Steps Behind" worked perfectly in the crossroads too.(DVD exclusive too)

On through the night a cult album, High 'n dry too edgy even for a metal band(at the exception of Bringing the heartbreak and Switch 625), Pyromania the perfect one for a road trip and Hysteria THE Blockbuster, the album that put the Jovis and the Roses to the MTV map, so praise Def Leppard! On the other hand Adrenalize is lacking of inspiration but Slang is the perfect answer for those who still thing of Lep as a shallow band(what?) with an american sound(excuse me?)...

Def Leppards best album was High N Dry, followed by On Through The Night and then Pyromania. Hysteria was pop rocks, I loved it, but not as much as their first three.

lol agree with Joe,sucks they are always going to be compared to Hysteria. That was a massive album that took years to make, tons of money, and with the assistance and songwriting of Steve Clark and Mutt Lange along with the rest of the band members. They are still doing albums, but nothing they do will match the match the amount of work that went into the production of Hysteria. Still I can't wait for the next album, Phil said it's going to be the most edgy in a long time, so that's exciting.

either adrenalize or vault could have sold 7 million world wide. I remember adrenalize sold around 6 million back in the day when it was released, so it could have made it to 7 million by 2010 or vault. but I believe the 7 million Joe was referring to was pyromania, as it didn't reach 10 million sold until this century. it sold around 6 or 7 million back in 83.

Other songs went together really well. I thought When Love and Hate Collide and Hysteria were really good too as well as some of Taylor's songs. The DVD Exclusives like "Love" sounded a lot better live on crossroads together than it does on the Sparkle Lounge album, imo, and "Two Steps Behind" worked perfectly in the crossroads too.(DVD exclusive too)
