For orthodox Jewish people, it is against their beliefs to say the name of God. The replace it with Adonai or HaShem. But Matisyahu introduced JAH dan, which has the name in it. Does this not count? Doesn't quite matter to me, I'm just interested.

Orthodox Jews are not allowed to say Yahwe, that is why they replace it for the tetragrammaton YHWH or - as you wrote - they use Adonai or Ha'shem. Basically Matisyahu could say Jah, because it's not Yahwe.

i wouldn't say thats completely true since Hashem reviled his name only to Moshe rabbeinu (PBUH) and was only said once a year by the high priest on Rosh Hashana no one actually knows how to say the holy ones name any more. it is written in the Torah/Tanakh as יהוה (Yod-He-Vav-He) with out any vowels or knowledge of where the vowels shoudl be placed thus rendering it impossible to pronounce or say in our head even if we wanted to.
