  • Hi Creamer, do you actually play guitar? or do you just upload these great backing tracks?

  • Geat track man!

  • fuckin awesome but too short!

  • best track around, only too short. please make an hour of it, would be awesome

  • a harmonic minor

    c major

    a minor pentatonic

all sound good over this really

  • @maddkat420 don't forget phrygian, got a very interesting sound with that.

  • @JoeSatrianiFan100

    yeah im still learning modes,

im sure each could be applied in its own way,

but not i just dont understand them yet.

but more important i forgot the

    natural a minor.

  • @maddkat420 Try Locrian. Maybe not with this particular track, but try it. It's a mode that's overlooked far too much, in my opinion.

  • @JoeSatrianiFan100

sorry would that be the F major = A phrygian mode?

  • @maddkat420 That would be correct, yeah ^^

  • how the hell are you supposed to jam for 2 minutes??

  • nice track! kinda reminds me of " I put a spell on u."

  • Yes. Very nice.

  • has a smooth pink floyd feel, i love it

  • Is this really A major? I only get the feeling with the minor pentatonic.

  • Thanks, I'll be sure to change the title.

  • No problem man, I got scared for a moment. Thought my ears had gone crazy.

  • @troglodita6000 hahahaah :))))

  • @CreamerMusic it is major

  • haha. What happened was when I uploaded the tracks, for example this one was probably "Blues A", so i just assumed it was A major.

  • @CreamerMusic wats the difference? thanks for any help

  • First things first. Yes this is Am. now that that's out of the way... the blues scale is just the minor pentatonic with an added flat 5th. this is minor because the root chord is Am7. the same scale would apply to an Amaj blues track.

  • And in wich kind of progression would normally work the major pentatonic, and not so well the minor?

  • Almost anything based in either the major diatonic or pentatonic scales. the blues scale is not a classical scale , though certain classical scales (ie. minor pentatonic) do happen to fit over it.

  • Just to add to timwulfs point. Both

major and minor pentatonic guitar scales

are based on the same fretboard patterns. The major/minor tonality is caused by which scale tone is functioning as the root. And the root is determined by what chord or chord progression you're playing the scale over.

  • oh yeah whats it called....oh yeah a mayja seventh!

  • Comment removed

  • Well, mostly. The "blue" notes are actually unplayable, and are between the two notes. But you can pretty much get them by playing the notes around it. Or bending of course ;-)

  • im pretty sure that its the minor pentatonic with an added flat 4th

  • thats a blues pentatonic scale.

  • @troglodita6000 it is major

  • @troglodita6000 in blues only minor pentatonic sounds bluesy...also if a song is in a major it is better to improvisate in a minor

  • @Poolboy0Paul

You don't know what the fuck you are talking about bro. The blues scale is what sounds bluesy, and if a song is in A major you improvise in A fucking Major as well.

  • @Carthsgtr don't be that agressive you face :D ... you can but it sounds much more bluesier.......
