  • boring

  • Was hoping for something a bit faster but TU anyway :-). I've just put up a vid of.... Techno Music: Steam Trains At High Speed ....and they're moving just about as fast as anything on Amtrack.

  • 0:08 LA Kings just scored!

  • Loud horn, eh?

  • OMG I HAD HEADPHONES ON, I DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT THE TITLE D;

  • damn faster than japanese trains

  • He blew the horn to get you the FUCK away from the tracks. You're gonna get killed being that close!

  • I'm going back to the girls with big boobs videos.

  • I liked it, but stand back just a little and people will stop complaining and disliking.

  • for your info, cement ties in australia are call ''sleepers''should you guys go overseas.

  • @ibuy4unow its computer lingo. i obviously know its thats

  • What kind of Cargo were the first few cars carrying? Cement Ties?

  • This may not be very fast. Fast for a goods is like,

    watch?v=72C6scXViJc

  • love that horn

  • horn ban? thats the fuckin stupidest thing i ever heard. id blow the horn whenever the fuck i want. he probably did it just to be a bastard, like me.

  • do you thinks this is fast?

  • Just enjoy the fact that engineers do happen to look on You Tube to see if they are on it, in England we get some pretty cool horns but nowhere near as loud and tuneful as yours , so don't trespass, do enjoy, and do film a lot because in years to come your films will be cherished as they are now. Mick.

  • cool but my model trains could go faster than that.

  • slow as hell

  • "He Blew the Horn in a Horn ban Area... (Why?) "

cause he can.. what are they gonna do... pull him over?

  • @harryskelter lmao!!

  • HOLY $#!)

  • fuck Horn Bans.

  • @ScrizzDubb Amen!

  • Bumpy Track!!

  • Bro that train isn't fast in the least! That's constructive criticism, im not bashing you! When an engineer taps the horn a few times he or she is saluting the railfan. When they blast the horn one very long blast that means that your presense is not wanted there. That long blast was out of anger!

  • i'm sorry can you play that in slow motion next time, it was too fast

  • @Danno1850 Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • I think the train was just leaving the station I know its loud.. I live near a train station and I think it might be illegal being in the side of the fence no sure though... good video though lol

  • I got the horn blowed at me when i was riding a quad on the railroad access road. Technically no tresspasssing, but the only ones who can enforce it and give you a ticket are the railroad officials, which, the engeneers WILL call you in for it. So just be careful, train drivers seem to be turning into neonazis. Im sure he was blowing his horn at you not for you. Because you couldnt hear him cussing you out over that hewge diesel.

  • @incurableboy Most don't really care as long as you're not dangerously close. Lots of times they'll blow the horn so that you know that they're there, their worry is that you'll try to jump the tracks.

Just recently here a crew so a guy at the side of the tracks while they went past slowly and sure enough he must have tried to get on because the next train found the body between the rails.

  • ow my ears

  • This is not fast as you wait for ever within our means in Germany in the High-Speed?

  • I think you dont know what a fast train is,do you?

  • i had the volume up and my right ear started hurting. i mean low volume

  • Very fast ??? Idiot

  • I saw a way faster train at 45 mph on a windy day.

  • Cause maybe he likes seeing train watchers.

  • mmmmh... French trains is a very fast train, not your CN train !

  • @revolutionjoyeuse "French trains is a very fast train"

When they're not on strike ?

BTW, check your grammar, plural also exist in French :

    'French trains ARE very fast'

  • That was not fast at all. But that train horn was loud as fuck!

  • Ya i guess in N. America you could call this very fast :D In Europe we call this Extremely....slow :D Oh well what to expect from the old diesel electric trains...

  • i's not fast

  • He probaly blew the horn because of that "stupid" guy standing at an unsafe distance, to get a movie of a train.

  • you should stand a little closer next time, you know, so you can get a better shot hahah

  • aww i blicked and i missed it XD that went so fast XD

  • you mean very slow....

  • Roadbed doesn't need work, obviously the video was shot close to a "diamond", that's the "hammering sound". Check a couple of video of mine for train-speed; "Railfanning, Waterloo Indiana", the 9.46 second video, at the 7 minute point most I clocked in the mid 50 to 60 range, pretty fast, standing on the Amtrak platform at Waterloo Indiana

  • He blew the horn because you were trespassing on railway land. Sorry this isn't a 'cool' comment, but your actions give all railfans a bad name. Be safe or die: simple rule of the railroad.

  • He probably blasted at ya to back ya the hell off the tracks, don't ever stand that close, one train the other direction and you'd have been hustled down the track til they stopped (MAYBE 2 miles down if you're lucky unless they seen you before they got you)

  • that would make me deaf up close

  • he blew the horn to alert you that he was passing, this is a rule in cror which is the canadian railroad operating rulebook. it is rule 14

  • Hey Looks like the same train on the west end near albany.... this same train blew thru Hoosac and woke up Ringo.

  • Nice!

  • That was a no horn zone? Wow the people there must be real angry but I would still the same thing iif I was the engineer! I don't even care if they start a riot!

  • Now thats a damn cool video!

  • he blew his horn either because...

    1) he was telling you that you shouldne be tresspassing (if you were, im not sure)

    2) he blew it because he saw you filming, and he wanted to make you happy.... (not sure how to explain it) but alot of engineers will "salute" railfans taping trains by tapping the horn a few times

  • @ rolls283 Yeah its hard to tell if your getting the good or the bad response sometimes. I usually assume the first until I see them wave or whatever.

  • @rolls283 I go with number one look how close they are to the mainline track I have accidentlly got to close before photgraphing trains and got that response from th engineer of a passing train

  • @rolls283 I beleive both reason would be correct.

  • @rolls283

Gets me all excited when fanning at night and they will wave their flashlight. Once had an engineer stand completely up in the cab and waves his arms after giving the shave n haircut. Makes you hope that just maybe you made their day a littttle bit shorter!

  • @rolls283 Oh that's so smart I thought of that too!! :D We must be incredible. ;)

  • Fast, couldn't be! But talking about being LOUD!!... Looks like a gigantic hammer hitting the ground constantly!

I really think JimTB is right: some more work on the rails' bed!

  • No kidding!

  • Wow!

    DOBAMBAMBAMBAM DOBAMBAMBAMBAM!

  • Road bed needs some work .....

  • Very fast?

  • So fast.

  • @ibuy4unow

    check this

    watch?v=jaEPZPXdowI

  • @deaftodd Yeh, about 30 mph !!

  • @deaftodd for the type of train its fast

  • I hear the horns from my room and i live a few kms away from the tracks.

  • Loud yes but fast...no! I live on the UP mainline from Omaha to Chicago....those trains can be fast.

  • wow

  • Wow! Very loud! Where was this?

  • Lol, the horn is so loud the camera can't take it!!!!! SHSHHSHSHHSHHSHHSHSHHSHSHSHHSHSHSHHSHSHHHSHSHSHSS!!!!!!

  • Man my house shook from that

  • can i Have a copy of this vid?

    ill put courtesy of ibuy4unow

  • Dude, you really should take the advice of these people here. Don't stand to close to the railroad tracks. Be safe dude.

  • Okay.

  • can i have a copy of the vid?

    ill put courtesy of ibuy4uno

  • He blew the horn because you are standing too close. You might not be on the tracks, but your close enough to get killed.

If anything goes wrong, even standing a ways away is dangerous. Don't stand so close next time.

  • i feel sorry for you .you must be death now

    LOL

  • Cool vid, microphone overload, .....

  • way to close to the tracks even i love trans alot but dont stand on the trac ks good video though

  • Comment removed

  • Nice but don`t stand on the trax there. Thats why he blew the fucking horn cuz you were too close.

  • no one time i stood right next to the tracks and waved at the controller and he waved back

  • it all depends on the engineer. some dont give a shit while some are just watching out for your safety.

  • man you are way to close to the tracks there and trespassing. try to make yourself at least 10 feet away from the rails and at a public crossing I wouldn't want you to get in trouble with the local railway cops or regular cops or worse get hit by a train.

  • Comment removed

  • Most likely he blew at you because you were close to the tracks or he/she was just a nice engineer :)

  • He can blow your ears, when you stand on the rails. There is no ban area ;/

  • Was this shot in Grimsby? I didn't expect that kind of horn on a CN locomotive. Great video!

  • I feel sorry for your ears!

  • loud enough

  • Just maybe being friendly

  • did it hurt your ears???

  • Man you should see the BNSF's roll out of Pueblo CO once they pass the last busy grade crossing they wind them things up 50ish headed north out of town. Usually 5-6 DASH 9s pulling 100+ car empty coal trains north to wyoming

  • I am a conductor with Bnsf Ands this last summer we were doing track speed after clearing pueblo jct which 10 mph whole train restriction track speed is 60 mph from pueblo jct to the grade xing at the pinon truck stop north of town from theredrops to 50 then 40 at fountain then once we are climbing out of north springs it drops to 30 mph from the freeway overpass to just past palmer lake, it a hell of alot better than 40 mph we gotta do between walsen burg and salt creek jct Dark Territory.

  • Nice I see I dont usually see them moving to fast before 26 street crossing I typicaly get caught there once a week on my way to school and it seems that by the time the end of the train has past the crossing the speed has nearly doubled. I have noticed that the turn right by the 13th street exit just before the tracks go under Hwy 50 east has a pretty good bank to it which makes since with a 60mph limit.

  • please note that the speeds are different on the southbound track into pueblo we do 50 mph until canon city jct where it drops to 40 usaully that signal at canon city will be approach and we will be doing more like 20 approaching the possiblity of a stop at the south end of the yard . FYI we use uprr bypass north note this used to be DRGW and the south bound was Santa Fe before all the mega mergers, also mentioned in the last comment the line from walsenburg to pueblo it was C&S and DRGW .

  • Where's the horn ban area?

  • As a CN engineer, I can tell you that most train crews despise rail fans, and many of them will blow the horn, or do something else to mess up a "good shot". The video is shot way too close to the other track, and many people have been killed by not being aware of what is operating on other tracks. Railroaders always expect movement at any time, on any track, from either direction--ALWAYS. Railfans should always remember--SAFETY FIRST!!

  • Were you actually standing on the CN train tracks ibuy4unow when you shot this video?

  • I remembered that I used to stand on CP Rail property right outside my apartment building in Toronto, Ontario to see the CP Rail train go by and they never honked at me. I was not standing on the tracks, I was only railfanning.

  • Comment removed

  • that train is freakin' loud!

  • YOU WERE TRESPASSING is why he blew horn!

Video from grade crossings where you can be close legally.

Also, you may capture an idiot getting hit by a train.

And get to hear bells and see signals, etc.

  • YOU could have been hit from behind!

Passing train my mask horn of approaching train which you were not looking for - were you?

So always be "out of foul", which you will be by not trespassing.

    Nice, sharp, clear, steady video.

    Please keep videoing and posting.

  • ear rape lol

  • Just sayin...

  • He blew it cuz you were tresspassing. Idiot. And that wasn't fast at all. 30 to 35 mph if even that.

  • Watch your mouth punk, Or i'll stick my boot in it.

  • I have to agree with you! lol

  • @ibuy4unow Hahahaha that is funny!

  • @ibuy4unow Just ignore him... they blew the horn because you were videoing them. I've had engineers blow the horn when I video just to blow their horn (and I was on a public highway parallel with the tracks, so I wasn't trespassing).

  • I'm going to set the record strait here. If the engineer thought the photographer was too close, he would have started honking long before that. It looks to me more like a nice gesture of "greetings". This would be especially true if the video was taken close to a grade crossing. I have also seen videos taken a lot closer of trains than this one, where the horns don't sound. That's my theory anyway.

  • I was thinking the same thing

  • I thought this video was supposed to be of a FAST CN freight...at home, I see CN trains passing significantly faster than that on a daily basis.

  • hey probably blew the horn at you or for you, depending on how you look at it.

  • He's right you know.

  • He was probably blowing the horn because he saw someone standing too close to the rail right of way. Had you not been trespassing, and standing in a hazardous area, he may not have done it.

  • Did It Take you all year to think of that comment?

  • Nope, I just saw the clip this afternoon, and immediately knew an idiotic asshole when I saw one.

    Thanks for the interest.

  • probably you were to close to the track and tresspassing. If i were you i would stay off railroad property or you can be charged!

  • in germany freight trains are very fast :)

  • sounded like that horn exploded your mic lol, great sound tho!

  • I work at a factory (Knorr Brake) that makes brakes for those trains! CN, CSX, all over the world.

  • in illinois the ex ic line there `s an enerchange that`s80 mph

  • thats not fast

  • I thought the horns were automatic.

They have special external sensor on the leading

edge of the cab called a FDD that sends a signal to electronic horn.

The device is only found on Comfort cabs thou.

    .

    .

    .

    .

    FDD (foammer detecting device)

  • That was quite a horn blast at that close range! Horn sounds like a Canadian Tuned Nathan K5H. Nice!

  • Sweet SD40MAC!

  • try 70 mph that`s bout 35 mph at the most but kool train

  • "He Blew the Horn in a Horn ban Area... (Why?)"

Maybe cus you were standing next to the tracks with a camera, i would blow the horn too if i was him to piss of people! lol!

  • He could have whistled because you were within certain distance of the grade or fouling the siding/main.. The engineer always has discretion to use his horns when he deems necessary, such as when grade is fouled or people are within too close distance to the train.

  • Think hes just showing off.

  • thats wasnt fast at all lol

  • Fast to me brian.

  • oh, ok. thats like what? 30mph/

  • Was that train Westbound? If it was, I think that becomes CN 149 when goes to Port Huron, MI.

  • Yes, it was a WESTBound train.

  • That is train 149 right from Halifax Nova Scotia.

  • Yeah, Correct... Nice... :)

  • Nice Video ibuy4unow!

  • jesus scared da shit out of me lol

  • Nice Shot! Loud Horn! Nice...

    When are you uploading more?

  • he probably honked the horn at you cause its considered tresspassing if your on the tracks

check out my video, the train conductor did the same thing lol

  • LoL, your right, haha...

where did you film that anyways?

  • lol

mine was filmed in a small town in ontario

    alban

    how about you?

  • not always true... they do blow the horn just for the hell of it if your taping, watching or taking a photo... they've done that to me before, and then waved.

  • Thats not fast. Go to the southwestern U.S on BNSF lines were freights go 70 MPH, now thats fast.

  • wow it broke the sound barrier on ur camera

  • That horn is frightening.

  • lol

  • Uhm...we are talking about a freight train here noob

  • i buy now lol

    gr8 gr8 passage

  • Nice video, but the train wasn't very fast. Our trains in the UK are much faster. See my Granhams Road video to prove, at the bit where the crossing actually activates.

  • ur right ur trains are faster but those a for people to ride on this is a freight train for bringing stuff to were it has to go

  • Our freights are faster too!

  • that is probably true because european engineering is way more advanced than canadian

  • nope, you're wrong, its slower here in North America because our trains are way heavier than the trains in England and Europe..

Do you people have 180 car,1.2 mile long,19,500tons trains ???

  • im canadian lol. By the way i only said that because i thought their technology is more advanced because of the train that goes from england to france in 40 minutes. U can park ur car inside the and sit in ur car while the train brings u underneath an ocean. It was just a thought. Thank u for enlightening me

  • Hmm, well thats not all to impressive, is it? I mean, the gap between england and france where is goes underground (water... whatever) is only 35 km form beach to beach. So maybe 50, maybe 60 form the one trainstation to another... 40 mins isnt really all that quick;)

  • I believe that is from London to Paris isn't it? Not just the time in the tunnel.

  • 100 ton cars are the new standard in North America. The cars in Europe still weigh close to what they did in WWII. The cars are all steel now but they haven't gotten any bigger really.

  • Cool!

  • Where in Ontario is this taken. That train looks alote like CN 149 that runs on the Flint Sub here in Michigan (From Sarnia, Ontario to Chicago). -Chris

  • Ya i agree thats not a very fast train. The CP's that go through my Town of Midhurst Ont go like 5o-60 MPH. I have 2 vids if u wana check it out, im adding more soon tho! :D Still a great video! Keep up the good work!
