i think i understand what you mean.

all this machine is is Smoke machine pumping normal smoke fluid out throw ice, so if you do not put the ice in it still goes throw the machine comparment where the ice would be but doesnt chill it so it like a normal smoke machine that would just rise and be like normal. But it would be a pretty big smoke machine to carry around just for that lol.

@ComaRic fog is one thing and you need another machine for haze , haze hangs above ground and fog stays on the ground

I use it for theatrical effects!

A good effect I found was if you place it high up It comes down like a water fall.

I placed it up high then the Fairy God mother from Cinderella walked through the fog!
