Land Rover Freelanders are great. I have a 1.7 litre Freelander and it has loads of power and its only a petrol so it doesn't even have a turbo so shut the fuck up!

we took ours to teh dealer for a new head gasket and they said they would only replace the entire engine!!! I was liek WTF??

& that basic parts & maint. cost a lot more that it's competitors?

& that to this day they have crappy electronics? & they rely to heavily on them & have TONS of them? Or all least the V8 Sport I drove did. It was a sea of useless switches & buttons. & the window controls were in the most retarded place

& that they break down a lot. Or at least the do in the US & that traction control is no big deal & hardly makes this "The Best 4x4xfar"? Could that be it?

i am going to buy a boat and refuse to get a truck to tow it so i was wondering if this could tow a boat that ways 1500 to 2300 LBS and can take it in and out of the water on a fairly steep muddy ramp? i know its rated to tow 2500 LBS but does anybody know how well it does with that kind of thing?

No, it's a little V6 with about 176 hp. It can't even handle the weight of itself when accelerating and going up hills. Not to mention that it is unreliable. Try a LR3

man if your still looking, get a range rover v8 4.0 or 4.6 p38 or classic, convert to lpg, will tow anything and wont cost the earth

Land Rovers are great (the best) but these "shit models" are what YOU (the rest of the world) ALL wanted. Us Brits were very happy with a Defender and a Range Rover. We made a compromise and gave you the disco (i love the 200Tdi series) but you all moaned and owned Land Rover. So we bring the Free Lander (mk1 were mechanically cack) for the baby 4x4 inside you. All we do now is change the shape every year to shut you all up. If its not broke dont fix it. At least defenders still look the same!!!

What a piece of crap. be warned people this car company produces the worst vehicle imaginable. Go to any Land Rover dealer and witness for yourself the maintenence are will be filled. I speak from experience that you will be bamboozled.

this is the worst car land rover ever made. it has so many problems. one major problem was that the transfer case was broken, so it would only send power to the front wheels, and most owners didn't even know! but that's just the tip of the iceberg.

it was overpriced, underpowered, and very shitty.

the new lr2 (freelander2 to the rest of the world) is like a quantum leap to this. much better.

i have 54 face lift, excellent car great fun and no problems. like any car maker they have monday and friday cars. my advice is, learn what your looking at and do be cheap!
