Still is my favorite conductor for Bach music ever. I don't know if it are the particular engineers associated with him or if he has a great sense for picking the right musicians but when I listen to Bach from a CD his takes always sound clearer then when I listen to other conductors.

I bekive this to part of a tour undertaken by Garginer over several monthes in which he plays the church music for the different times of the year. The tour ends in New York.Dose anyone have the rest of the tour to up load?
Though I should add that Kurt Tucholsky (as well as others before and after him) once aptly noted: “Tell me what you need and I shall get you a quote of Nietzsche for it.”
Um? I just wanted to add that Nietzsche said a lot of things and quoting him out of context doesn’t really make sense. Which is the case with a lot of people.
I stand corrected on the specifics of the instrumentation. My point, however, is that Bach's skills are such that he gives us a universe of thought, sound and emotion with the most economical of means.
@guidepost42 Just two instruments? No. The video shows only two (an oboe da caccia and a bassoon), but there are actually THREE independent instrumental parts.
There are TWO equal but independent oboe da caccia parts, one imitating the other.
And there is the customary basso continuo part, played here by bassoon and organ.
The complete scoring specifies these FOUR independent parts: oboe da caccia 1, oboe da caccia 2, soprano and continuo.

Amazing. Just two instruments and the human voice, yet it is the entire universe.
