There is not an official Google Search app for WP7 !!! This, in the video, is simply a thirty party app that just opens the web browser on the google page!
BTW, google search gives just better results than bing. That is a fact!
I'm waiting for google to develop their wp7 search app. And it would be nice to connect it to the wp7 search hardware button.
Easy to Play - Difficult to Master - Impossible to Put down
Your objective in this fun physics game is to rotate your way through 20 challenging levels. To complete a level, roll your ball guy to the raindrop. Pay attention, as some levels require you to first collect a star in order to activate the exit point. Use the finger on the screen and move it in the desired direction
@Harrysound The man just showed you the point dumbass. Bing is vastly superior on phones and tablets. It's also better in a lot of ways on PCs and laptops.
wow...bing is doing it big time..... I don't know why but when I think of bing I think of New York, I guess because it focuses a lot on finding restaurants and hotels and different places....kind of like the city life....soon bing is going to take over a lot more of the search market share.
its so bad that google cannot make better app, or why MS canot allow user to switch between search engines like google or bing. tell you the truth i wanna use Bing but i can't , bing is give so bad results and its not support my location good as google.
I use Bing on both computer and mobile. Why? Because they're both search engines, and on the computer they provide exactly the same service: finding information. Google doesn't necessarily provide better information, as what they both do is search information on the web, only I feel like the Bing interface is much more modern and changes daily, it doesn't just prey off of people's fear of technological change.
Yeah, the app sucks. The integrated Bing search is just easy to use and the voice recognition is fantastic. Bing search results often suck tho and I had to use Google instead...
I notice this is a trend with many apps. Windows Phone should introduce a plugin addon system for file sharing, codecs, and even search, allowing other vendors to build into their APIs...
I think this will make the Windows Phone experience truly customizable. Just as if we were using a computer
What na epic fail by google O_o. I'm google fanboy and for me Bing isn't good web search engine, but if I had WP7 phone, I would definitely use Bing search. It's built into whole WP7 interface, while google is simple bookmark...
hey brandon, I just tried this same thing on the google search widget and the bing widget on my android phone. the google search does the same thing and pretty much opens the browser for whatever you want. it doesnt even load google maps when click "get directions". it just takes you to maps.google.com. Bing stays in its own app for the search results, directions, and information about the place. I think i'll be using Bing for my own phone now as well.
How do you really know if google has developed that app? Microsoft could of possibly just made a bookmark to the actual web page like a web app. Microsoft the company that wants you to stay in there cloud. If you really think about it, there basicly making you use bing more.. But remember guys im not to sure about this but im just giving you my thoughts, This does however feel like something that google wouldnt do because its freaking google people they take there time when developing stuff....
@RyanGadz Oh i didnt know that. But i did previously mention i wasnt really sure.. But i do find it quite wierd how google developed this app in this manner O.o
Google really dropped the bomb on that one. Mind you, I wouldn't expect that they would be able to do the same things as they do on Android. So yeah, Bing on a Microsoft product pretty much ownz.
The Bing App is really well designed and functional but the google one... I just hope there will be an update. There are soo many things they could have added (e.g. instant).
Well Bing really seems to be picking up, both universities I attended switched their default search engines and home pages to Bing. I have used Google since I first using the web but I have found Bing to work better for me, it looks better too IMO
Did anybody notice there is almost nothing up in the status bar except time and battery? So how do you know if data or wi-fi is enabled?! Oh, you have to remember you turned it on or go to another screen to check...
What a fail man... no wonder sales are low and slow...
@madant1977 Err lol, watch some more pocketnow videos, brandon explained that it's done for a real clean look and that it's a different approach from microsoft. You can see the icons by tapping on the status bar, they then disappear again after about 3 seconds
@A99YearOld I did watch all of them and I know what was said, but it is still a unbelievably poor reason that screams of crap (especially coming from MS) and a nuisance of sort, a lot of people like status bar icons because they give you information without clicking around the phone. And if their argument had any ground there would be nothing at the top, and appearing when you tap... ccc...
lets get real here guys, WP7 is not going to give you the full feature of google search, if Jon did a comparison with a WP7 and Android i'm sure both is just as good. in this case it make sense to have all the features and iCandy bing offers on WP7, but @ the end it's personal preference...
the question Bing VS Google might be intersting to the US users but from an european view point Bing is still immature as platform compared to google of course.
Whats the Point, after all, you will end up in Internet Explorer with the Bing search, too. And Google search is the best search after all anyway, so it's kind of consequent.
The only Point that sucks is the fact, that there is no real internal phone search like on Android devices. But thats Microsofts fault, not Googles.

Point in Google vs Bing for me is, that Google is so much more than just a search engine. Its an ecosystem and it's one of the best. Something, microsoft can't offer yet.
@rivengle I know !! but in android devices the bing app is providing an exelent service but.. as you can see google app for WP7 looks like it have been made in 5mn.
Anything can get approved in the Android store. Google has no control over the apps. That is why more than half of them are absolute garbage. WP7 isn't so far off either because they need apps. RIght now, they're just approving whatever apps because they need those numbers. But once they get to a good number, they'll start only approving quality apps.
I think Microsoft is quickly releasing apps to gain popularity among users and generate publicity that the marketplace is certainly healthy and full of apps. However I'm beginning to get concerned about the level of effort developers are putting into these WP7 apps, I'd rather wait a few weeks till an app is complete and making full use of Metro than using something not worth using at all.
@redskinrap8629 As far as I know, sucking is good, right? Bing is damn good, plus, its integration with WP7 is hell of a lot better than Google search in Android...
There is not an official Google Search app for WP7 !!! This, in the video, is simply a thirty party app that just opens the web browser on the google page!
