  • There is not an official Google Search app for WP7 !!! This, in the video, is simply a thirty party app that just opens the web browser on the google page!

BTW, google search gives just better results than bing. That is a fact!

I'm waiting for google to develop their wp7 search app. And it would be nice to connect it to the wp7 search hardware button.

  • intredasting

  • as an android user, I have to say, this Bing app is quite beautiful, i'm kind of stunned^^

  • 1:32 big `G' lol

  • @chrouro I forced my android tobuse bing.

  • Bing isn't as good in Sweden as in The States:(

  • I've been using Google for a long time, but I think Bing has better apps.

  • Google work for android and iphone only. They make crap apps for win phone and nokia. except youtube

  • Bing sucks,Google just the best

  • @jorgesatablackmetal your mad bing is going to be dominant by 2015 lol

  • LOL. Bing is so better as an app and on mobile. But Google is better on the web even though I use Bing anyways

  • i like google on the desktop, i love bing on mobile

  • Doesn't feel different from google, but I really like the pictures with facts and links. Those are always interesting. : )

  • At least google launched an app fot WP7. On the other hand, I can't find any Bing apps for android!

  • @chrkourou then your using an android phone right because the Bing app been on the market sense February

  • I can see that the phone is almost running out of battery.. check out the indicator..

  • Your battery indicator is permanent! How'd you do that?

  • @idkmybffjv when it is low on power it will show you the battery indicator

  • Gah I hate Bing.

Whats the point when theres Google......i mean seriously.

  • @Harrysound The man just showed you the point dumbass. Bing is vastly superior on phones and tablets. It's also better in a lot of ways on PCs and laptops.

  • I use google on my computer but i use bing for app.

  • Comment removed

  • wow...bing is doing it big time..... I don't know why but when I think of bing I think of New York, I guess because it focuses a lot on finding restaurants and hotels and different places....kind of like the city life....soon bing is going to take over a lot more of the search market share.

  • We want this in Italy (these funcions are not supported!!

  • So this is a Bookmark?!

  • its so bad that google cannot make better app, or why MS canot allow user to switch between search engines like google or bing. tell you the truth i wanna use Bing but i can't , bing is give so bad results and its not support my location good as google.

  • I use Bing on both computer and mobile. Why? Because they're both search engines, and on the computer they provide exactly the same service: finding information. Google doesn't necessarily provide better information, as what they both do is search information on the web, only I feel like the Bing interface is much more modern and changes daily, it doesn't just prey off of people's fear of technological change.

  • LOS LINKS!!!!!!

  • Yeah, the app sucks. The integrated Bing search is just easy to use and the voice recognition is fantastic. Bing search results often suck tho and I had to use Google instead...

  • Bing of course!

  • can you download the google map on the wp7

  • It's like bing on a android phone,,, nothe same

  • the google juggernaut must be stopped!

  • too bad bing sucks.

  • bing!!!!!!!!

  • Bing might be better there but on computers google wrecks bing

  • I'll go with the Bing app.

  • google=epic FAIL!!

  • even more useless than the youtube app, which at least installs a plugin.

  • I notice this is a trend with many apps. Windows Phone should introduce a plugin addon system for file sharing, codecs, and even search, allowing other vendors to build into their APIs...

I think this will make the Windows Phone experience truly customizable. Just as if we were using a computer

  • Bing search on WP7 has a good interface , but I think the most important thing is the search result . Microsoft still has a long way to go .

  • Google fails on this phone, yes. But on a phone by google on android os, google maps and gps kicks bings ass!

  • What na epic fail by google O_o. I'm google fanboy and for me Bing isn't good web search engine, but if I had WP7 phone, I would definitely use Bing search. It's built into whole WP7 interface, while google is simple bookmark...

  • hey brandon, I just tried this same thing on the google search widget and the bing widget on my android phone. the google search does the same thing and pretty much opens the browser for whatever you want. it doesnt even load google maps when click "get directions". it just takes you to maps.google.com. Bing stays in its own app for the search results, directions, and information about the place. I think i'll be using Bing for my own phone now as well.

  • pity google app sucks, i prefer google far above bing...

  • google fail

  • How do you really know if google has developed that app? Microsoft could of possibly just made a bookmark to the actual web page like a web app. Microsoft the company that wants you to stay in there cloud. If you really think about it, there basicly making you use bing more.. But remember guys im not to sure about this but im just giving you my thoughts, This does however feel like something that google wouldnt do because its freaking google people they take there time when developing stuff....

  • @AshadurFilms because the listed developer is "Google Inc."

  • @RyanGadz Oh i didnt know that. But i did previously mention i wasnt really sure.. But i do find it quite wierd how google developed this app in this manner O.o

  • The day that Bing exceeded Google. *Mind Blown*

  • but it's gooooooogle....

  • wow google really splurged on this app !!!

  • Google really dropped the bomb on that one. Mind you, I wouldn't expect that they would be able to do the same things as they do on Android. So yeah, Bing on a Microsoft product pretty much ownz.

  • The Bing App is really well designed and functional but the google one... I just hope there will be an update. There are soo many things they could have added (e.g. instant).

  • Well Bing really seems to be picking up, both universities I attended switched their default search engines and home pages to Bing. I have used Google since I first using the web but I have found Bing to work better for me, it looks better too IMO

  • Who uses Bing anyway? So, if I would use WP7, I definitely would choose the more steps just to search with Google.

  • @angel2901

Your comment just says a lot more about you than it does about Bing.

Inflexible, backward, stubborn, stupid and idiotic are the first words that spring to mind..

  • @Schirmatilen Indeed. It says about me that I choose quality over convenience.

  • Anyone know if you can change the white on black for the bing search ?

  • Google.... Fail :P

  • Did anybody notice there is almost nothing up in the status bar except time and battery? So how do you know if data or wi-fi is enabled?! Oh, you have to remember you turned it on or go to another screen to check...

What a fail man... no wonder sales are low and slow...

  • @madant1977 Err lol, watch some more pocketnow videos, brandon explained that it's done for a real clean look and that it's a different approach from microsoft. You can see the icons by tapping on the status bar, they then disappear again after about 3 seconds

  • @A99YearOld I did watch all of them and I know what was said, but it is still a unbelievably poor reason that screams of crap (especially coming from MS) and a nuisance of sort, a lot of people like status bar icons because they give you information without clicking around the phone. And if their argument had any ground there would be nothing at the top, and appearing when you tap... ccc...

  • I gonna stick with bing because it is so unique on WP7... so BING FTW!

  • @xXSCARFACE1983Xx ye man and bing maps is BEAUTIFUL...

  • Isn't Google better than Bing??

  • HIGUYSIT'SBRANDONMINIMANANDI'MIN

  • Looks like Google just didn't want to be the only one without an app... lmao!

  • i use only google...

    ...bing sucks

  • @Tomtom5893

    than get an Android...

  • lets get real here guys, WP7 is not going to give you the full feature of google search, if Jon did a comparison with a WP7 and Android i'm sure both is just as good. in this case it make sense to have all the features and iCandy bing offers on WP7, but @ the end it's personal preference...

    Thank you.

  • Google For Search

    Microsoft for Computer OS

    Apple for Phone OS

  • @midgetwars1 You mean:

Google for Smartphone OS and Search.

    Microsoft for Computer OS

    Apple for Phone OS.

  • @haydsman

I think that it's important to be as fair and objective to other companies/products/services as we can be.

  • the question Bing VS Google might be intersting to the US users but from an european view point Bing is still immature as platform compared to google of course.

  • @InitialDAmine Sad, but true.

  • Google: Oh hey.. Wp7 is out.. we should remind everyone we still exist!

    5 mins later

Google: Tadahhhh. That'll teach Bing.. yea...

  • Does Google Instant support WP7?

  • @davidheryanto Nope, only supports iPhone and Android.

  • Is google feeling intimidated by wp7?

  • Google search is just as good as this Bing search on Android... But yeah, i don't get why they even bothered with a WP7 app..

  • @Ereco8

Because Bing is Google's biggest competitor so they had to make ann App for WP7.

  • @xXSCARFACE1983Xx They have an app for it on wm 6.5 devices also... its just more intuitive and interactive on wp7 mobiles.

  • 1:55 LOL yes not more than 5 mins XD

  • Comment removed

  • Well who would have thought Bing is better than Google on a Microsoft branded phone....who would have thought? haha

  • google released it because bing is the default and they are scared people will start using bing more and more.

  • lmaao google !!

  • BING Bam Boom!

  • ... get a BIG G! splash screen!!

  • why does everyone reviewing a phone search, search for 'pizza' or 'starbucks'???????????????

  • @ucheucheuche Because they're things that are always near everyone

  • I bet Google just threw their app together just to get they're name on WP7. They'll probably develop it more as WP7 progresses.

  • damn i want WP7! :)

  • Whats the Point, after all, you will end up in Internet Explorer with the Bing search, too. And Google search is the best search after all anyway, so it's kind of consequent.

The only Point that sucks is the fact, that there is no real internal phone search like on Android devices. But thats Microsofts fault, not Googles.

  • @RaphaelBeckerFoss google search is kinda getting owned by bing lately though ive heard.

  • @BIGGGY305 Ah, where did you hear that? To me it seems like bing is getting to a point where it's at least usable after all, but better than google search...? Actually I don't even care. Im so completely happy with Android 2.2 on my desire and my gmail account...

  • @RaphaelBeckerFoss

Please look at it without your Googles on. The Bing search(mobile) is much more interactive and more intuitive than the google search on wp7.

For the results..numerous tests have shown that Bing is remarkably similar to Google, but google is still a better search engine, but only by a margin. Being a better search engine by a margin is not a reason to use the google search app.

On desktop though...google all the way.

  • @asianoutcast87 Without my GOOGLES on? Nice one :D Where is Bing more interactive? We have location based search, we have news, we have Pictures etc. etc.. It's the full feature set of Google Mobile. All I see is, that bing is more polished from a graphical standpoint, but when it comes to usability, there is no difference. Point in Google vs Bing for me is, that Google is so much more than just a search engine. Its an ecosystem and it's one of the best. Something, microsoft can't offer yet.

  • Can you pin website shortcuts as a tile in WP7?

  • @korwinblue Yes, you definitely can!! :D

  • @florinteodor Than the most useless app on WP7 ever goes to Google.

  • @korwinblue Haha yep, you're right!

  • @korwinblue Absolutely!

  • WTH? It's just the Google web search results! LOL Bing is obviously better on WP7.

  • GARBAGE, Microsoft still sucks !

  • silly google but at least their putting their foot in the market place, soon we will see a fully baked app.(Well at least I hope!)

  • I dont dig the music at the beginning.

  • i wonder how this got approved by microsoft!!!

  • @MrWembergcarlo bing got approved in the android store.

  • @rivengle I know !! but in android devices the bing app is providing an exelent service but.. as you can see google app for WP7 looks like it have been made in 5mn.

  • @rivengle

Anything can get approved in the Android store. Google has no control over the apps. That is why more than half of them are absolute garbage. WP7 isn't so far off either because they need apps. RIght now, they're just approving whatever apps because they need those numbers. But once they get to a good number, they'll start only approving quality apps.

  • @asianoutcast87 I do agree that this App is not worth, but Google > Bing. I hope Bing will improve.

  • this fails, yelp wins

  • Bing is great for mobile

  • Battery seems not very good

  • Wow, Google really doesn't want people to get WP7 devices.

  • as a windows mobile user Bing is far superior to google for searches as you displayed but for gps turn by turn navigation.

I have seen the google gps navigation application on android phones and that does seem very good but on a windows phone use Bing!

  • I think Microsoft is quickly releasing apps to gain popularity among users and generate publicity that the marketplace is certainly healthy and full of apps. However I'm beginning to get concerned about the level of effort developers are putting into these WP7 apps, I'd rather wait a few weeks till an app is complete and making full use of Metro than using something not worth using at all.

  • I am a Bing convert.

  • BING FTW

  • @Proxyon16 Bing is just horrible

  • bing sucks. go google!!

  • @redskinrap8629 As far as I know, sucking is good, right? Bing is damn good, plus, its integration with WP7 is hell of a lot better than Google search in Android...
