Actually the design that the "American Police Force" is using is the Serbian coat of arms, and now they've changed it to the Russian state Coat of Arms. Where it may have come from the Byzantine Empire the Free Masons have supposedly been around since Babylon still stood. So it's possible that the Byzantine Empire borrowed from them or vice versa.
