  • Impressive grip strength, considering the use of overhand grip.

  • how do they get that strong? is it creatine or just genetic..im 145 5'5" stuck at 300lb deads and 280lb back squats...beendoin it real serious for aboout 2 yrs now..periodization... all that...anyone got suggestions? my nutrition is on point -metabolic typing- any suggestions greatly appreciated. thx!!

  • Actually it doesn't ruin my reality. It keeps my ego in check and makes me work harder. Thanks for posting !!

  • That is ridiculous, overhand grip no pussy shit, fucking nice man

  • Great pull next up 4x bodyweight!

  • STRONG!

  • you had a few more in ya lol!!

  • this video isnt that impressive actually...

  • @Jograndable actually you're right. Good thing it was just his warmup. I never post max attempts because I don't want to ruin peoples reality.

  • @BROZKNOWS Broz please, please ruin my reality! I can take it!

  • @BROZKNOWS you need to post these max attempts...screw peoples reality.

  • @Jograndable Are you kidding me? the man weighs 143lbs and pulls 443. That IS impressive.

  • Nice form.

  • damn great job bro that is insane

  • yo coach broz i got a question pertaining to the relation between the Deadlift and a Clean pull.Do you think heavy singles in the deadlift slow down your transition in the 2nd pull in the clean?

  • I can barely get my fingers all the way around the bar at the gym, so I feel I don't get a good enough grip. Should i buy straps? I don't deadlift many kgs, but it would be nice if they would help.. Also, my lower back rounds a little bit as I tire, will this improve by keep lifting the same amount of weight or should I do less kgs until my ATG squat gets to the same level as the deadlift?

  • awesome ive that that at around the same weight class!

  • Up and coming like sex in an elevator.

  • Fantastic lift! Really impressed that your athlete was deadlifting with a hook grip. His thumbs must have taken a battering.

  • I just don't get it. How are these guys putting up these insane numbers?

  • @JordanMitch They train, hard. Working your ass off brings results, who would have thought?

  • Looked very hard for him. I don't know why I kept thinking he was lifting 600. But impressive, nonetheless, at his size.

  • @DreadfulControversy I don't think it looked hard at all

  • I've taken shits more intense than that lift.

  • Insane Motivation.

  • fuck that, I'm done.

  • Hey Mr Broz I don't know if you still do this but I just uploaded a few vids of today's squats to my profile and would appreciate your comments. Thx!

  • @BROZKNOWS how was the las vegas open, I couldn't find any competition results.

  • @Enongacong results and pics on gym website. link on home page

  • Question: How big of jumps do you take when warming up squats? Does Rob go 40kg per jump for each set when squatting?

  • How often and heavy do you have him deadlift?

  • great lift

  • Hey broz, how do you train around a back injury? I trained for 6 straight days in december, took a break sunday, and then monday when I start to max out on my squats, I somehow injury my left lower back. Ever since its been causing me problems. Is it that I didn't ease into the every day squat routine? I've checked my form multiple times and go ATG with my back almost completely vertical having the bar rest on my traps.

  • All your videos are amazing average broz , you must be an extremely good coach with some very dedicated athletes :) , i hope to at least drop by and have a train some day, much respect from australia.

  • those are results of squatting a shitton or he deadlifts often?

  • surprised by his grip choice... Im 19 I wish I could do that haha. He must be shorter though, Im at 6ft and 165lbs. I wonder if height helps any?

  • massive improvement on this lift wow.

  • Hey Coach, how come we don't see Rob or Pat's DLs anymore? Or for that matter, there hasn't been a vid of your lifters doing box jerks for a while. Have you stopped doing them or there just hasn't been anything truly staggering worthy for the 'tube yet?

  • @BentropySS little of both, but I do have a few new ones for this weekend.

  • joohn broz I had a dream about you the other night, a couple of days after winning the UFC heavyweight title I stopped by Average Broz for a bit of training session and made a impromptu 220/270.... it was a good dream.

  • @trinity9011 tell me you did it at 69kg bdwt. that would be epic.

  • oh man, bro got a hair cut

  • Coach, is it alright to squat with feet pointing straight forward or it should always be at an angle?

  • @TheSuperber yes, it's ok.

  • I just hit 405 yesterday and that felt amazing, I'm at 160.

  • he is getting very strong, very fast

  • If there was a TV channel that just followed these lifters around 24x7, I'd watch it every day.

  • mother of god. what do you feed these guys? gorilla meat?

  • @skyethebeast close - 3-4 cans of pickled shark shit.

  • Hey coach i got a question about front squats. Besides just squatsquatsquat is there any exercises to get stronger in FS? Any core exercises or something? Or just ATG

  • @ihgsudfhd Your first reaction is correct.

  • That's a great lift.

  • too bad those former crossfitters quit, they had some decent potential.

  • @JNorthKilla94 they did not quit lifting, just not here. One is trying to get into the OTC, the other is still training elsewhere. last I heard they're still planning on going to Sr. Nats.

  • @JNorthKilla94 There were former crossfitters coached by Broz?

  • @EndlersaurusRex Droze (69) and Bybee (77). Trained here for about 8 months. Each added about 30kg to total, 3rd and 4th at 2011 nationals.

  • @BROZKNOWS Oh, I know them, but was unaware they had crossfit backgrounds. I remember you saying Ian was a swimmer before he went into lifting, though.

  • Broz, anychance of a quick tour of your new guy, panning 360 or something. Place looks great

  • WOW

  • If a weightlifter deadlifts in the afternoon...will his workouts the next day be typical sessions? or will it be slightly lighter/less volume because of heavy deadlifts the day before?

  • dude has strong thumbs

  • He cut his hair o_O

  • Excellent lift. I know it's not of interest to you and your lifters, but some of us that lift do so to try and aid in increasing sprinting speed for field sports. Any idea how fast Josh can sprint with such good relative strength and obviously he has good mobility to go with it?

  • @mikeycarroll14 not sure, but just clowning in the gym last week, while holding 15# dumbbells, he no-step vert onto 48" box --- easily!

  • @BROZKNOWS Thanks for the reply. That's pretty impressive. I'm going to take it that he could be pretty fast on a sports field if he wanted to be. Thanks again and best of luck. Looking forward to watching some of the guys in London.

  • One word... Ambition.

  • Dear Mr Broz, In the squat, it seems that the longer the knees go forwards/over the toes the more upright the torso becomes. Myself i feel that my knees are far over the toes, but the heels are still in the ground. Is it a bad habit to try to push this limit so the heels are just slightly in the ground so that the back becomes more vertical? Sometimes my heels are just slight in the ground. Or Should almost all the weight be on the heels and compensate with a slightly more horizontal back?

  • How do you avoid mass gains on your lifters? Calorie deficit? If so, how do they gain so much strength on a deficit?

  • @TehLightBlinds no deficit. It's like the 3 bears - not too much, not too little, but juuuuuust right.

  • @BROZKNOWS

I was 5x5 squatting 3x weekly with progression every workout but I gained A LOT of mass on my legs, probably because of the 5 sets. Right?

  • @BROZKNOWS

sorry, looked at deficit as the lowering part of the lift. lol. nevermind.

  • Wow! That's impressive! I Dead lifted 180 kg at 60 kg years ago, triple body weight. Is Josh going to Nevada this weekend? And how about Nationals? I'm rootin' for Brandon from Oregon, but also for Josh, last I heard was Brandon with 95 snatch and 125 jerk, but that was a few weeks ago.

  • @Droppinthehammer we live in NV. Not going to Jr Nats, but prob going to seniors.

  • Yo coach broz, I like your new editing :D

  • @EliteKrieGer thx

  • o_O damn.

  • Good job!

  • haha, I deadlift 110kg >_<

  • This kid is the opposite of Samson. Cut his hair and he only gets stronger!

  • very nice

  • all your athletes are freaks john ... and i mean that in a good way !!!

  • how tall is josh?

  • What happened to his hair?!

  • Strong.

  • The HITMANN is here to take NO prisoners. No hard feelings all business...

  • Broz, your gym looks amazing. I'd love to able to train there some day.

  • DAT HOOKGRIP!

  • Goodness gracious I never thought I would look forward to a new internet site so much but somehow I am. These regular new videos keep me satiated enough for the time being I guess!!

  • ... I'm 70kg and can only do 130kg once after training on dead lift for a month... fuck that he's strong.

  • btw Broz, what happened to Ian Drozde?

  • very very strong. hitting triple bodyweight DL is no easy task, speaking from experience here lol

  • What's the possibility that one day he will C&J this?

  • @jondrewE His goals are 155/195

  • @BROZKNOWS At 69kg? I wish him all the best in his career and that he exceeds his goals one day.

  • @jondrewE 62

  • @BROZKNOWS Wow! Very ambitious! Will you be putting your lifter's current prs on the new website? Will be good to see developments

  • @jondrewE yes, with their profiles.

  • @jondrewE If he competes at the 62 class all his life, C&Jing 201 would break the WR by 19 kilo. Hell, the goals Broz lifted would still break it by 13 for the C&J and 2 for the snatch, at 62kg!

  • @BROZKNOWS

    Has he been deadlifting everyday?

Thanks for all the great clips and all the information you put out. I can't wait for your new website.

  • @AdamTParsons no, but far more often than usual. I'm changing his name to "Hitman". We have a record board on the gym wall and he's after all the pr's set by our former 69 and 77. One by one they will all fall - this year.

  • @BROZKNOWS

Very impressive, I look forward to seeing those videos soon.

  • @BROZKNOWS

you say that he deadlifts more then usual for your lifters.

why do you have him do more then others?

  • @chiefwr88 it was his weakest lift, so I decided it was going to be his strongest.

  • @BROZKNOWS how many times has he been deadlifting during a week?

  • omfg

  • i pull about 500ish at about the same size, but im really impressed by the hook grip! that is badass...

  • Pretty sure my colin would shoot right out of my ass if I tried that.

    Gj man gj

  • He'll C+J that this time next year.. incredibly fast progress so far

  • And all this time I thought it was the Samson effect...

  • NO BELT AND DOUBLE OVERHAND! thats whats up

  • Hey John, just a quick question concerning the hook grip. Do you think it is practical for everyone?

  • @tiktokz1 yes. I actually use it when I drive.

  • @BROZKNOWS can you check out my videos....coach i have only 2...it would really be an honour.....btw im 13....check out my videos and comment as fast as you can...

  • @BROZKNOWS same

  • @BROZKNOWS great lift. Broz, how often is he going to continue to deadlift regularly? I know most of your lifters don't do it often, it seems like you have been emphasizing it for him

  • @alexfischer285 Until he does 211 and passes up our former 77's best. Then it's back to biz as usual.

  • Great lift

  • waaaaaaaaaat

  • What happened to Bybee and Droze?

  • Nice one! Wish I could do 3xbw at 19, too but 3 months won´t be enough ;)

  • lol what happened to your hair? great lift!! why did ian droze leave?

  • Nice!

  • looks badass with the shaved head!

    SMOOTH LIFT!

  • The hair is gone! Very strong.

  • very good!!

  • Damn, dude is STRONG!

  • i am so fucking impressed. i thought me pulling 425 at 152 with mixed grip was good. good fucking shit man.

  • @rzheng3489 do you regularly post your max lifts and weights on youtube for people who don't care?

  • @akerbacker whats your problem? im giving props to him. I respect this lift and everything brozknows does. if you think im bullshiting add me on facebook and you'll see the video. Sunny Zheng.

  • New hair looks so much better!

  • Hey Broz, your guys must have insanely healthy, strong, flexible etc. joints and great posture to be able to perform all of these lifts. Would you ever consider posting a video showcasing the kind of supplemental joint and flexibility work your guys do? Either way your channel is amazing and these lifters are truly inspirational.

  • @BROZKNOWS @gitterfritter YES I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS ALSO.

  • @gitterfritter they don't do any supplementary exercises is what I've heard. Check t-nation to find out more.

  • @gitterfritter I really hope im not intruding, but my understanding from his interviews on here is that they do no flexibility work and dont believe its necessary in most cases. They only do the lifts and they work their way up in weight with lots of reps to perform them with good posture. Hope this helps...

  • raw dl world record is 690

  • @ishred no it's not, go look up Magnuessons 1015

  • @fakeandgay69 lol , @ishred said 690 is a world record in 64kg weightclass ...

Benni Magnusson pulls 1015 weighing almost 400 pounds !

  • @fakeandgay69 Different WRs for different BWs.

  • The time between this guy's videos and improvements is quite remarkable. Even the most popular lifting routines espoused by what most consider big names in lifting do NOT have a single routine where this much progress is made in such a short amount of time. Broz, your principles on progress NEED to be written down in fine details and sold in a book or even e-book so I can absorb all the information in it. Don't dilute the information for easy digestion from your common lazy gym goer.

  • @alex708 a belt and dl suit will not add 75kg....

great deadlift by josh, not elite however.

  • I'm amazed at every video on this channel. Yall have some lifters with serious dedication.

  • lulz

  • Like a Boss

  • holy shit, in a week?!

  • Nice

  • this might be off subject, but who do you share the space with? a crossfit gym?

  • This guy has a very strong grip.

  • @FieldBoy111 u took the words right out of my mouth :) i would not want this guy choking me with his hands lol, but seriously he has a damn good grip

  • @TheDannyddd His grip has come a long way.

  • @BROZKNOWS In your experience does using a hook grip for a long period of time carry over to an increase in strength of a normal double overhand grip? Also, will there be a forum on your new website? Because I think a forum would be a much better way for you to answer the thousands of questions you must get!

  • Holy shit! Thumbs up! =)

  • nice haircut. he's also looking a lot more muscular.

    oh, nice lift too.

  • Nice! Whens the website up? We are all dying to see it.

  • This kid really has some freak genetics for his weight...

  • hitched, still strong though

  • @thewanderer67 No hitch. It just slid up his legs. His knees didn't re-bend, and the bar kept moving upward. No hitch.

  • thats fucken all day

  • hook grip too, tha's crazy and on a personal note, the haircut suits him. (relatively homo)

  • Amazing !! but something is awkward : all your lifters seem to have extreme gains in strength whenever they lose hair ... a theory that I sincerly dislike LOL

  • damn, 201 dead with hook! must hurt so good

  • I fear the Samson effect will soon begin for him, downhill from here son...you shouldn't have cut it :P:P:P:P

  • good job man!

  • haha... new haircut?!

  • @schipamize What hair?

  • @MikePostDrums Exactly :P

  • Congrats dude, solid lift

  • 2011-12.30 to 2012-01-08

    gain 16 kg!!! awesome!!!

  • Beast!

  • Hell yea bye bye IAN :)

  • +3xb.w. = Elite Deadlifter and he doesn't even compete in the deadlift.

  • @MORETHANOVERGROWN bro there are IPF lifters at 66 kg that pull 275 easy

  • @tigerak02 beltless, hook grip and oly lifting shoes?

  • @tigerak02 ipf is a geared federation. this lift is raw, there is credit due here.

  • @alex708 there are ipf lifters and wpo/gpc lifters that can do that at the same weight without equipment and raw also.
