just in case anyone else was wondering, most MXL condensers, Nady condensers, and Apex condensers are also great sounding + inexpensive + some of them look really good! (at least in my experience with those mics :])

Is a capacitor microphone the same?

Those are the same thing. A condenser has a capacity effect ( electric elements ) so they call it condenser mic or capacitor mic :)
