  • now you have two (but smaller) bullets in your body?

  • pointless

  • Modern arts vs. martial arts.

  • damn cant beat japanese btw (im japanese)

  • @RedrumUHAHA "CANT BE DEFEATED" lol

  • Wth is this the Soul Calubur announcer?

  • @TyroneCashMoneyy haha yeah it's the same ,exactly the same !

  • I like to see someone get into a guns vs sword fight....Then who would win?

  • @SSgtCalebP

    depends how close they are

  • Why did they make the Japanese old man sound so funny :( ? .Kinda racist

  • AMAZING! INCREDIBLE!

  • RICOCHET.

  • SUGOI!

  • 'Merica, where they dub Wakamoto Norio with a stupid white mans tenor voice.

    Most dishonorable.

  • now lets see someone do it in battle

  • @evanandodd obviously you haven't seen videos of Isao Machii? YouTube search him!

  • hard steel can cut through soft lead! *Gasp* I would've never thought

  • That is inconsistent, first, woh is gonna to stop a bullet with a sword? and were anybody thinking that the sword will break?

  • I TOLD YOU, MY SWORD RULES

  • That shit was fucking amazing!!

  • try the thing with a rocket launcher

  • sounds like they got some voice samples from an anime for comedic effect. nice.

  • its simple. bullet is more softer material than katana. what is one hardest steel in world.

Even if bullet is same material it wont broke katana totally. katana loses only little pieces in time.

  • who did they get to narrate this? Richard Nixon?

  • @ParanoidPixel ahahah

  • Did anyone else see that Pen and Teller thing where they showed that a butter knife could also cut a bullet in half?

  • -"Dat gun, didn' hiv' a shance!"

-Now how about YOU holding the sword this time?

  • wow I thought anime was load of bs.. now this makes anime is realism

  • haha, horrible translater

  • but the gun lived aswell D:

    How does the sword win?

  • @spartanW43

The gun just barely survived u cuold see what horrible state it was in by the end!

  • holy shit

  • 1:43

I told you my swords rule!!

  • This is beyond stupid. A piece of 1018 mild crap steel with a half assed edge will split a bullet. Hell I used to hunt, a sharp edge of BONE can split a bullet. I wish I could stop watching Katana videos but it's like trying not to look at a wreck victim, you have to see how foolish some of the comments are. Somebody mentioned racist? Uh, the Koreans and Japanese are more racist towards outsiders than WE are. They're just way politer about it. What I admire is their sense of honor.

  • Wow if that guy could hear that translator's voiceover he would chop his head off with the katana

  • That really was a Hatori Hanzo sword! - Kill Bill

  • lol he's sword over an inch thick of steal withstands a bullet and they are surprised? even a kitchen knife from Walmart can withstand a bullet

bullets are soft so they do brake makes them more damaging when they hit people so it doesn't just poke a hole in ur leg it blows it off

  • @Antioxidantt you stupid, had you ever learned about impulse and momentum when you in high school, especially in solid material? fine katana have amazing balance both in hardness and elasticity, hard only is not enough, it would be broken easily by massive amount of energy, that's why windows glasses would be torn apart by bullet, but when they added enough elasticity the will become bullet proof glass, the same conditions is applied in making fine katana.

  • That accent made me laugh so damn hard. xD

  • even a butter knife can split a bullet, big deal.

  • @nick45644564 yes there is /watch?v=Qzhs1Z8Rwnk&feature=related

  • ..though on the other hand, a much larger projectile made of the same soft lead core may even be better for the Katana to cut....however the velocity would be 3x-4x of that of the .45 acp round used in this test and the very moment would likely dent or mangle the sword, even with a successful test. Of course, the second one starts to experience with steel cored AP rounds, tungsten Sabots or HEIAP-i.e. Raufoss rounds-you can forget about the sword altogether.

  • A bullet (civilian) is made of (usually) lead, with a copper jacket, and has a blunt or even flat nose. A Katana is made of multiple layers of composite steel and has a diamond sharp edge....it is no wonder that the sword prevailed unharmed. Though sufficiently high velocity can propel even the softest material through a harder material, within this threshold, however, anything less than bronze wont do it. As for a .50 bmg, still a copper jacketed lead bullet, but velocity might be high enough.

  • @legioXequestriis

Theres another vid on youtube that shows someone firing a Ma Deuce at a katana. Katana was blown to pieces. so yeah, the velocity is def. high enough, and that was with non-ap rounds.

On the otherhand i've seen knife demos where they unload an m16's entire clip into it's edge, followup with half a dozen buckshot rounds, and polish it off with some magnums, with negligible damage.

In the end, their all just sharpened iron bars, even the katana.

  • Oh wow a soft ball of lead breaks when it hits a hard steel edge! weaboo shit.

  • All that tells you is, if someone shoots at you, never try to cut the bullet with your katana, or you'll end up getting hit by two. XD

  • Omg i didn't expect that ... i thought it was movies' idiocy >.<

  • @Bloody0Sword0SMI what's that got to do with suffering of people?

  • I TOLD YOU, MY SWORDS RULE!!!

  • Isao Machii + this Katana = True Samurai in Real Life

  • did the translator really have to put on a terrible japanese accent lol

  • @ainsleywainsley I don't think the translator and stuff were part of the original video

  • @ainsleywainsley it was on SPIKE Tv. we are lucky he didnt go (CHING CHONG CHINGGY CHINGGY CHONG THATS THE SONG THAT THE CHINA-MAN SINGS) rofl.. (yes btw i know he is japanese, i love the japanese culture but racists cant tell them apart)

  • @ainsleywainsley Of course he did. This is on Spike TV

  • @ainsleywainsley raciest jerk

  • its awesome cuz cobra commander was the japanese to engwish translator

  • now put the sword up against the assasins from wanted.

  • the translation is definatly done by the japanese. Thats why it sounds so naive. And practically anything with a thinner edge will slice through a bullet. All the force of impact is on that thin edge. It'll slice through bullet no problem.

  • 日本刀

  • The fuck is with the accent by the translator? That racist prick.

  • thats a korean sword not a katana

  • ofcourse the sword can cut that bullet.... try to replace the bullet into real metal.. not copper or something

  • @johnericsantiago28 go here: watch?v=RyO46RQhYkQ

  • So Gray Fox really can deflect Big Boss' 45 ACP Rounds.....

  • This is where the guy that does forensic files got his start LOL

  • how impreesive, katana is harder and more durable than lead bullet.

  • That sword can ever cut water in 2 separating H from O

  • @dariomih Proof that Youtube sucks because one can't edit typos.

  • @dariomih lol thats just silly....

  • rofl that gun didnt have a shot

  • amazing, the technology from China 2000 years ago.

  • Comment removed

  • @starchingllc Lol...you are joking, right? The katana was created ~700 CE in Japan. The creator of the sword, Amakuni, presented it to the emperor and everyone else laughed. At the time the Japanese fought with bulky Chinese double-edged swords. The emperor counted 200 of his katana used in battle and none of them were broken. Upon realizing the superiority of the katana, he pronounced the Amakuni the best swordsmith in Japan.

  • @h4s4t4n Learn the real history. Do not listen to the cheap katana salesman. Everybody worship japan and look down china. Japan did not have a god damn emperor back then. China is shit now but Japan was no match with China in ancient time.

  • Comment removed

  • @starchingllc I don't "worship" Japan. I do not own a katana. I'm Filipino, Hapon invaded my country...I am just citing what I read from Wikipedia and watched HERE 11:20-17:20 watch?v=9--BaKGU6KY

  • @starchingllc hahaha

  • @starchingllc The emperial family dated back to 660 BC... The Chinese had a very powerful navy but their land troops were not as good as the Japanese. They didn't even have a warrior class....

  • @h4s4t4n the Katana/uchigatana wasn't created till the 1300s... Back then they used the Tachi which is much longer, and way way way more curved...

  • now with a sword like that, i can take on the aliens, reptilians, and the NWO.

  • lol I love the dubbed, so stereotypical.

  • ''Lets see it...IN SUPER SLO-MO'' 0_0 Noooo not SUPER slo-mo D:

  • soo..deadpool is real afterall!!!!!

  • HAHAH IT CANT BE DEFEATED

  • isn't the dub a little stereotypical or racist

  • the guy who dubbed this is retarded lol

  • Huehue at the end.

  • It didn't split in two. It hit the edge and fragmented.

  • Sword wins! Guy behind it gets killed! Yes!

  • AWESOME.

Really fantastic the craftmanschip of those masters.

    Congrats Japanese friends : )

  • now do man holding katana vs bullet

  • 1:29 the guy who dubbed his voice is a moron

  • wow must have been the sword smith has a real champion because that can not be any more difficult it is truly amazing!!!!

  • AWESOME

  • Geez I hope next time a gang banger comes at me with a gun I'm carrying my sword...

  • *shock*

I'd never have guessed that hardened steel would slice through copper and lead!

  • @potheadpenguin Of course it does. Steel is a lot harder. And this is harded steel in a perfect cutform with centuries of development.

  • I love the borderline racist voice-over.

  • Sorry, but it 'a normal thing ... has nothing to do because the sword ...' has the surface where the bullet hits ... being placed in front of the blade surface proiettile.la 'and even a millimeter, and material much more 'bullet-resistant ...

  • i laughed soooo hard at the translation

  • Pussy, chips, and plums. Over.

  • That is one RACIST translation voice-over.

  • @michaelbeairst but its funny, you have to admit

  • wtf is up with the voice over

  • you did it grandpa, im proud lol

  • The STEEL of the katana is much stronger than the lead in the bullet (which is softer than steel). A better match up is to use armor piercing rounds made from steel or depleted uranium.

  • じじいの声ww極端だなww

  • who the hell is doing the japanese guy's voiceover

  • No use peeps, katana's design/quality is still superior than the bullet. If you wanna test with a higher caliber bullet, then they will use a more higher condensed carbon steel katana.

Nowadays they just give the bullet steroids to make it go through armor or explode on contact.

  • @jaysong87 How can you even compare a sword to a bullet?

  • @DiabolusIgnis .........because the video is?? *sigh*

  • @jaysong87 The video is testing how well a sword can take a bullet. They're not comparing them. How can you say a 'katana's design/quality is still superior than the bullet' when they are two different things, and as such it's stupid to compare their design and quality. It's like comparing the design/quality between an attack helicopter and destroyer class warship.

  • WTF!!!

  • 英語の吹き替え初めて聞いたwww

  • next up, sword vs proud and fuked up asses of dumb ppl like student908065 and more. Dont miss it

  • hahahahah try to shoot it with a BARRETT CAL.50... i don't think the katana will still be the winner

  • @SuPlanu4Ever Because it's an anti-armour, high caliber rifle designed to destroy APC's, bullet-proof glass and other things. The katana wasn't made to withstand that, as there would be no purpose there. Derp.

  • Comment removed

  • precisely calibrates it to the MILLIMETER- with his eye... Proof that he's a cyborg.

  • i'd be more impressed if i had'nt just seen a blunt axe do the exact same thing!

  • ahhhhh...240p, we meet again!

  • @TheEpicNeonCookie Heh, sorry about that. I uploaded this video long time ago to show it to my japanese friend.

  • @TheEpicNeonCookie Just click the HQ button

  • Wow, the racism really helps me to be more impressed.

  • Now do a 7.62mm or .50

  • @paladin1352 they did a .50BMG machine gun I think it was, it split about 5 or 6 before snapping in half.

  • @paladin1352 /watch?v=-sHTJAKN-5k&feature=related .50 cal machine gun

  • @Perkyguy yourwelcome

  • Was i the only one who LOL'D at the ending pun "That gun didnt have a shot"

  • now you have 2 bullet holes in ya

  • is this the dude who announced soul calibur?

  • @fucksalt669 ROFL

  • @fucksalt669 THANK YOU. I was wondering why that voice sounded familiar

  • I told you.

My sword. Bring many honour to our family!

    hayaaa!

  • lead is a soft metal..don't need this exp...it's obvious

  • @spk978400

well.. have you ever shot a gun that uses lead bullet or buck?

    try it.

Try to shoot at some other metal objects.

acceleration can give a destructive power even to soft substances.

  • indeed the katana is the most (yet) powerful melee weapon in the world its forged in pure steel that goes inside titanium in U form then is carefully hammered and covered with tree and other elements to completely forged this amazing piece of art

  • @juangonzalez09 titanium was not isolated until 1875 so you can bet katana's never had titanium in it.

  • @puffdragon26 sorry what i meant was components of titanium , my bad , i know it wasnt discovered till 19 century.

  • Now im gonna get a katana in stead of a gun iw will just block al the bullets while they split by my blade ahhaa

  • Oh, katana, how I love thee.

  • pointless experiment, deadpool already proved this.

  • If you tried this with a lesser sword it would break the sword. Sure lead is much softer than steel but the issue is 2 fold: Is the blade sharp enough to produce a small enough amount of resistance to the bullet, and is the blade strong enough to withstand the considerable force being applied to it. This is a very very high quality sword.

  • @Zetchmd Does butter give a plastic knife problems? No? Damn, all the plastic knives we have must be superb!

  • @halfassedfart if the butter were flying 900 fps it would snap the knife. You'll notice as you rewatch the video that they didn't walk the bullet up the blade and merely rub it against it.

  • try that with a shotgun

  • @QuailBirdBob okay how do you be accurate with a shotgun? aside from loading it with slugs shotguns just throw a bunch of pellets at the target, sure close range deadly to the person but this is the sword versus bullet not the people wielding them.

  • agreed, you can shape a lead bullet tip with a coin and a good katana is very high grade steel so im not suprised that the katana was not scratched

  • hardened steel against lead....no shit,

lol i wonder if they will ever try it with a fitty cal slap round

  • @13inchpenis69 At the velocity of the bullet, I would have expected it to actually damage the blade, but it didn't, it got raped.

  • That sword would break itself in two if Chuck Norris blinks to it!

  • LOL the video starts with a panoramic view of the HOLYWOOD sign...i know this shit's gonna be real now!

  • Now throw the katana at the bullet

  • Well of course. Steel > lead. Not hard to grasp, people.

  • Now lets try it with a 50 cal :) so btw wtf does this proove that you can now be hit by two bullets instead of one :p

  • @XxFrEaKs0fNaTuRexX It proves that the fucking wapanese guys made quite a destructive weapon

  • so if you tries to defend yourself with a katana like that you get two holes in yourself instead of one

  • slow moving 45. LEAD vs a peice of sharpened steel.... WTF did they expect

  • What the FUCK are those voice overs?! Ahahaha...

  • how much sterotyping does the voice over have to be! awesone though

  • The almighty power of the sword!, now if there was just a super human skill in which we could only deflect bullets than guns would of no effect on us!

  • hahah it does uww made my day

  • I bet it wasn't a jacketed bullet, just straight lead.

  • @GoodModeSC

well well, in that case why not just put the katana up against a 50. cal sniper bullet? :D

    ~Jkun~

  • lol @ the translator

  • it has to be a $1000 katana

  • @rayawesum no sir, much, much more than that. closer to 6,000$ or better. You can tell when you see the machine gun against it and it finally crumbles you literally see the layers. Craftsmanship like that is hard to come by even in Japan.

  • HOLY SHIT!!!!

  • Lets try that with a RPG =)

  • Dude, how come every time I'm in the library, about to have an epiphany, all these Asians gotta be talking about shooting swords w/ bullets?

Nah, seriously, though, this is racist as hell. And kind of pointless, though I watched it anyway. Geez.

  • you better be running if you have a fight with an old asian dude with that accent!

  • Ok WTF is up with the crazy racist person dubbing that polite Japanese katana maker?

  • Haha xD instead of beeing hit by one shot ,you will get hit two places by the bullet :p

  • but if i took a gun out and shot @ you with the katana in your hand would you block it? lmao naaah seriously though the katana is one of my favorite swords
