@GsBBoyDan You can gain a ton of weight by just eating a bunch of junk and and getting fat....
You can't gain muscle without exercise of some form. For muscle building without weights there is pull ups, dips, push ups, hand stand push ups, jumping squats, body squats, lunges and a wide assortment of things that you can do. if that's something you are actually interested in check out the 'barholics" videos.
My buddy has been adhering to DietOramy diet program (detected through Google) around two or three months now and she got rid of most of her physique fat now - I'm attempting to talk her into fitness, but she is just loyal to her DietOramy...
Now don't get me wrong but I've been searching on Google for lots of healthy & effective eating plan plan and I found this unknown diet program called DietOramy - I am sticking to the strategy defined and I am going through a handful of significant achievements, and I am even now eating same as before, with no craving, just a little varied food...
My girlfriend had challenges with excessive fat for quite a considerable amount of time now and she identified a number so referred to as DietOramy extra weight loss diet program (google it) - she's had quite a good results with it so far, and doctor says she is healthful as never ahead of...
Hey... Have you tried DietOramy dietary regime (find it on Google)? I've been told lots of superb stuff regarding it and moreover my nephew got rid of much unwanted excess fat with it.
im really having trouble gaining weight in my eyes, my eyes are pretty sunken in. any ways to gain weight in your face??
also my favorite protein... gotta go with HEMP PROTEIN.! oh my its good!!! 4 TBS of that a day on average!. but also i used peanut butter everyday as well as i always have peanuts throughout the day!!!
This body building guy inspired my husband to go vegan (I was already ovo lacto veg and he was a meat eater). He's been swimming and changing his diet. He has heart disease so he's really trying hard to improve his health in general. :) He met Robert at the Portland Veg Fest a few weeks ago, and he must have said something I couldn't. :) I was floored when my hubby said he wanted to do this!! I thought he was pulling my leg! :D
Great tips man - I decided to get in shape this summer. just got a kick ass free trial of muscle warfare. Has anyone heard of it? i got 2 weeks worth free and i feel alot stronger, my friends also said i look bigger! cant wait till week 4 - check it out bit.ly\Muscle-Warfare-Trial the trial should still be on
Okay I just had to sign just to complain about all the pro meat comments! For fuck sakes your like those dumb asses that go on channels of bands they don't like just to mess with people!!!! Noones going on your carcass infested graveyard that is your insignificant fucking lives and planting hate or ignorant comments! Go eat a cheeseburger and wank your limp artery clogged dicks and for all the lady dumbshits out there go wash your filthy fucking cunts! FUCK!!!!
@ghastlyvegan since when does meat give you a limp dick? i think thats a personal problem not a meat problem vegans are fucking stupid, lets get sick all the time sounds awesome no ty ill stick to eating meat like human are suppose to and live a healthy, tasty life
theres some pretty great ideas in here... diets (no matter what they are) should be based on common sense & just like Robert said, variety and doing it properly. check out my ideas on vegan vs fitness... some interesting things pop up when you let your eyes see them @sheridansmithv and sheridansmith.wordpress. com
Disagree with the eating so many times a day... two meals a day is optimal or three at most if burning a LOT... science and bodily function have demonstrated this. More is a tax on the system.
Was using a fair bit of soy but decided to get away from GMO and most soy is. :( Have you found any reliable non GMO soy?
@Arajack but people always forget to mention that gorillas eat a HUGE amount of these foods, and they also eats insects ect .gorillas eat massively large amount of raw vegetation, humans have evolved to cook food. it gives us easier access to some of the things in the food. the fact that we have tiny jaws and small teeth when compared to other primates is a good indicator of how we evolved to cook.
@SmeagolTheBeagle, most primates, if not all, will hunt meat - at least opportunistically, meaning if an animal is hurt. There is not doubt certain animals can thrive on plant based diets, but to believe eating meat is not natural is playing the fool.
@showmetexas You're the one playing with words here. The point is that the nervous systems of the intelligent animals that we consume regularly (pigs, fish, cows, etc) are quite similar to our own and the ethical reasons should be enough of a reason to switch to vegan (I hate even labeling it) diets. The issue with vegans is the controversy over consuming soy in large amounts. The research goes back and forth and really, at least in my opinion, yet to be concrete. Ethically, vegans are correct.
@MicrowavedDicks Sure they are. They also have the physiological capacity to feel in a very similar way that we do. Our nervous systems are very similar
@MegaDanbo :P this is true.. he would eat him the girl and the camera guy in hope of some extra protein.. and a ton of supplements + roids as well couple it with 2 times in the gym per day... i dont know if this guy's goal is size or health.. but him being a vegan i would say he wants to be more healthy than huge... my point is... if you put yourself through hell you gain results. arnie did that.. he trained for like what 15 years? or more like an animal. he wanted to be champ.
can a high protein vegan diet cause bone lose. i heard that a high protein animal meat diet can cause osteoporosis? what is a good macro nutrient ratio for bodybuilding
@TheLeilisa No, in the eastern european countries, kids begin their training at the age of 9 or so and they grow up just like you and me. It will make the growth even better, IF the training is done correctly.
that would be a big commitment just to look like that.he said work out day in and out .if he is,not much to show for it,not downplaying what hes doing, but,i think its an ego thing ,'stylish'ooohh im evolved thats ridiculous.
@Exitof99 hahahahaaa thats some yummy air!!! I have lots of respect for Robert, he's stepped out of the "skinny vegan" thing, he also seems pretty chill and open minded.
Most times when someone is insanely optomistic about anything, be it the Vegancult diet, political parties, actors, politicians...etc, etc, they have become an ideologue on the subject. You cannot talk sense to ideologues, waste of time. Just watch Msnbc and you will see them all day, same thing with followers of the Vegancult diet.
Not to sound like a jerk but im a raw vegan body builder and im 100k lean. This guy would be lucky to have 18 inch arms so im not sure how this guy can even call himself a bb cause hes tiny he doesnt even have shoulders traps or chest. Is this him off season?Has he stopped training for a few years?Anyone?
Why do you assume his goals are the same as yours? seriously what is the deal with bodybuilders,
Some people want to be strong, some want to be big, some want to look good, some people want increased energy. Why assume everyones goals are the same? Its so frustrating. I'm a vegan bodybuilder to, and honestly, I don't care what people think. I give props TO ANYONE who is vegan, and\or ANYONE who works out. PERIOD.
@CONSTRINGACY Sorry, but I never got the memo from God that states "CONSTRINGACY gets to decide what is exercise and what is bodybuilding and everyone else must abide by his decisions."
@torchkit well if you dont like reality i suggest you crawl back onto your couch lock your door and smoke another bong! I think the world will do just fine without you!!!
humans just like hippos are omnivores we are not herbivores so we eat both plants and animals..humans have been eating plants and animals since the begining of time and its not going to stop ..
@krzintegraboi Correct, but its not a conscious decision for a Hippo. so what your saying is you have the intellect and compassion of a Hippo, with your logic no wonder the world is F*cked
@greg1973cat i guess the world has been f*cked from the begining since we have always ate both plants and animals..if people stopped eating animals does that mean the earth is in harmoy? i think not. it just means we dont eat animals we are part of the eco system just as anything else on the planet. why would people go against something that is natrual. how about this all humans must die because some people think we are a virus to the planet would you like that??
GRETA VIDEO! vegan here for serveral months and i weight train!.
I have a question for you if you have time to answer. How often do you work out during the week and for how long? I hear so many conflicting reports on weight training, some say only work out max 3 times a week (cause rest grows muscle) and other who say 5-6 days a week. Some for for an hour and a half, others say max 45mins...
@voncoolio The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition Reports: Substitution of soyfoods for animal products, regardless of isoflavone concentration, reduces the Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) risk because of both modest reductions in blood lipids and reductions in oxidized LDL, homocysteine, and blood pressure.
@voncoolio from International Bibliographic Information on Dietary Supplements: Soy protein and soy fiber are common ingredients in many foodstuffs. Various kinds of soy protein, including soy flour, soy-protein concentrate, and isolated soy protein, are currently used in human foods. Soy proteins are used in infant formulas and enteral nutrition products, as ingredients in meat products, and as protein supplements.
@voncoolio Although it is a plant protein, the protein quality of soy protein is excellent. Soy fiber is used in enteral nutrition products and some bakery goods. Research shows that soy fiber provides the important health benefits usually associated with dietary fiber, including improved laxation and cholesterol-lowering ability. This review provides background information on soy protein and soy fiber and their use in human foods.
does he take protein shakes? i've been raw vegan for two weeks and i've lost so much weight i'm terrified - i look like a stick, i think normal veganism is the way to go for me!
@Rotarrius What's your age, height and weight? What's your current body fat percentage? Are you an ectomorph endomorph or mesomorph? How many calories are you eating a day on average? About how many calories are you expending each day on average? Have you lost just fat or also muscle mass too? Many guys would like to loose weight easily like you did. I think you might be a younger man, they tend to loose weight quicker when they start eating right. In a few more years you'll wish you could!
@ContaMuir17a im 23, 5 11" and was 11 stone exactly, im an ectomorph. i'm not sure how many calories i was consuming but id have two protein shakes a day made of hemp seeds, two bananas and peanut butter. for lunch id have a huge avacado salad (a whole avocado), then 4 dinner id have a veg shake, spinach, lettuce and carrots! throughout the day i'd have fruits and almonds
@Rotarrius Really if you've only been a raw vegan for 2 weeks how much weight could you possibly loose? How much did you weigh before? -- Do you have any health problems? Are you on a diuretic? Other meds? Are you drinking at least 2.5 liters of water a day? Everyday? How many hours are you exercising a day? Beyond a certain point rapid weight loss is not good for your body. But self-perceptions can be deceptive. That's why I'm asking so many questions. Give yourself the factual answers.
Robert - you rock! As a 50 year old vegan lifter (30 yrs as a vegan) I can tell you it can and will maintain you for life. I'm sure my diet is what keeps me going - running marathons, lifting, boxing - and don't intend to stop ANY of it for the next fifty. You're an inspiration, RC. Keep preaching it!
@wooo341 Have you even seen people before? He's enormous compared to an average person. He's even bigger than a lot of athletes his height.
@newworld soy is not poison. The Chinese have been eating tofu since ~164 BCE and continue to do so today. And before they made tofu they were eating soy beans and soy milk. If they have been eating poison for so long how did we end up with more than a billion of them?
Another reason to avoid the Vegan Diet is EFA deficiency, primarily DHA/EPA. Plant based Omega3 efa, known as Alpha Linolenic acid has to be converted for your body to use as DHA/EPA, this conversion rate in humans is very low, usually at a rate of 1-4%. Jesus, the saviour of the world ate fish, it should be ok for everyone else.
Hello! Mr. Robert Cheeke is very inspiring. He is beautifully handsome too! The following is what I and my friends have found very useful recently: sprouts of different seeds, legumes, and grains provide different nutritional and taste profiles and nutrient densities than their unsprouted counterparts. They add bountiful and beautiful varieties to a healthy vegan diet!
Perhaps. But he would also be responsible for the unnecessary torture and killing of innocent animals, who, just like you and me, are sentient beings. Some vegans are vegan for ethical reasons.
@Klytemnest um yeah were humans life is a food chain wich means we eat to survive....im a spiritual person but i see no wrong in eating animals at all..thats life im more worried about children in 3rd world countries who dont eat at all...you only live once
@hahanikka 80% of the grain produced in USA goes directly to feed animals in slaughterhouses. They are fed 10 times more than what they would normally eat. If there weren't a meat/dairy industry, there would at least be a possibility for the redistribution of these wasted resources. Also, how can't you see anything wrong with forcing a sentient being to be tortured and killed? Other species are not "things", they are not our property, we shouldn't treat them like so.
@seymourLlama i have a heart for all animals and i would never kill something for sport but if this was the day and times when we didnt have resources like we do and we were basically woodsman i would most definetly hunt deer and such just to survive... as vegans or vegitarians you shouldnt look at people who do eat meat as evil or disgusting people. i am against animal cruelty and inproper manufacturing of animal meat. ive considered being a vegan also
@seymourLlama i agree i dont say i support the meat industry i just eat because thats what ive always done...im pretty sure if i was taught to be a vegan at a younger age i would be more accepting...i just rather not know how they process the food its bad enough the govt lets us eat what we do allready..i can never give up eggs though i love them i love some milk to..i just wish all the process food we eat and throw away could go to the starving in third world countries..im a juicy steak lover:)
@hahanikka If you weren't supporting the meat/dairy/egg industry, you would be vegan because otherwise you are both financially and morally supporting it (you wouldn't consume meat if you thought it was immoral). Animals on dairy and egg farms and on slaughterhouses are killed very prematurely and lived in horrible conditions. What other species do is not relevant at all, other species eat their poop and vomit, rape others and murder others, it doesn't mean we should do it too.
@seymourLlama i agree i think chickens got it bad to its just disturbing seeing a semi full of chickens ride down the rode all caged up.. i must admit i am a meat lover there is no way around it for now i love sea food to... i just feel like food should be earned..i hope to this year merge into a vegan lifestyle among other things like quiting smoking and i plan on doing the juicer more often..i bought a jack lelane juicer an i plan on putting it to use as i get more into athletics. im 25 now.
@hahanikka Goodness I don't think I have ever heard such a poor excuse for maintaining a standard American diet. You think people who are vegan now were raised this way? My family is from Italy, I grew up on mozzarella cheese and meatballs! Fish on lent! You think I was raised vegan? Seriously, wake up and smell the decaying flesh and shit (yes there is literally shit in packaged meats)
@brainboy109 yeah i understand there is alot of bacterias and bad things in animals thats why we get immune to things over time...im sure lions tigers and bears dont mind a little shit in thier food because its natural ..if i was hungry enough i would eat anything raw feathers and all and poop glands and brains who cares its a survival thing not being mean to animals...what are vegitarians going to do next make animals vegans..its all nuts
Killing animals doesn't really bother me. I am against treating animals poorly, or torturing them, but killing them and eating them doesn't really bother me. Very few animals are sentient, at least not the way we are. Killing an animal can't be compared to killing a human because animals put no value on life. They aren't self aware.
@RaidenTheAlmighty Animals are self-aware. If you have two dogs and give one of the dogs a treat, the other dog will know it isn't him who got the treat and will want one too. This is self-awareness. They also are just as sentient as us and want to live as much as we do. Animals from the meat industry are killed before they reach their first birthday. Living in fear, knowing you are not going to live for long, is torture in itself. Besides, animals in slaughterhouses aren't treated well at all.
Dogs are pretty smart but they don't posses the kind of existential thinking that humans do. They don't "want to live" they way we do either. They don't perceive life or death on the same terms as we do.
Animals in the meat industry aren't particularly smart either. They have no idea that they are going to die, so they are hardly living in fear.
@RaidenTheAlmighty What are your sources? Cows in slaughterhouses are in constant pain, be it because they were taken away from their mother within a day or because they can hear the screams of fear of other cows that are being slaughtered in the room next to them. Non human animals are not stupid, they are not unconscious and they don't lack self-awareness. Their brain is a lot like ours, if not exactly the same. They have the same instincts and sensations as us. They are sentient.
What sources do you have that cows are in constant pain when in a slaughterhouse? And yes, I realize that a lot of slaughterhouses aren't good to animals, but what if I were to raise my own cattle and have them butchered? Is that any different? Many companies are updating their farms to better cared for their livestock. Animals that are healthy and happy are better tasting etc. I understand the circle of life and I don't have moral qualms with it, like you do.
@seymourLlama maybee one day cows will rule the world..all i have to say is what do vegans and what not say about wild animals i.e. lions, tigers and bears..are they supposed to be held accountable for the killing sthey do? i know i dont have a problem with a bear eating a human who walks into thier woods..i think its wrong to kill that bear for being a natural living being . i often watch the discovery channel and think aww what a poor little gazell or wilderbeast..this is life we kill we eat
and also..i hope on everything that they never make eating meat against the law...im more of a beleiver in not killing your own kind...hitler and stalin were good at that..animals are cute and exotic and should be free but its food to humans thats how i see it...if you want to live a healthy lifestyle and be a non meat eater i respect that to each thier own...its a lifestyle but arguing over whats right or wrong about the whole subject is just as redundant as arguing over religion
@RaidenTheAlmighty Also, simply because they possibly don't wonder about existentialism doesn't make it right to deprive them from their life, as we don't kill humans who don't wonder about existentialism, like children or mentally ill people.
@bigshrimpn yes, I'm sure this guy is happy at his currant weight. Eating raw sprouts and veggies and all that all day will pass right through you and it will be difficult to really put on size. However, that's obviously the healthier route than eating 6-8 large non vegan, non raw meals a day. I got this guys point, I was just making a point of my own because a lot of vegans claim they know how to put on massive amount of weight on their raw diet yet they look like skeletons.
most of that comes from not eating a diverse diet and eating vegan but too much cooked stuff. You need the amino acids in raw veggies to replace the aminos coming from protein foods. Gorillas get friggin' massive off of a mostly green diet, and it's not some digestive system difference, they're just getting those live greens full of amino acids, which are much easier for the body to make muscle out of than meat or cooked beans & whatnot.
You need A LOT of fats, beans, sprouts, & greens for mass
Kevin Thank you so much. You are the only one I've seen on youtube talking about gaining weight on a raw or vegan diet. Besides lack of eating period I am in the same boat but now I feel like I have a good shot at putting some weight on, especially after see that guys huge muscles. I'm going to work out right now.
Love you videos. Please stay real. I love how you film yourself and are unscripted.
You and you wife are a great influence on society. Thank you
My doctor told me that the male body converts phytoestrogens into testosterone, and I shouldn't be concerned about eating soy products. Do you realize that the male body naturally produces estrogen too (whether or not you eat any soy products), just not as much as a female's body does.
@treverbettis Unfortunately genetically modified organisms in the United States includes much more than soy, it also includes corn, tomatoes, rice, alfalfa, papaya, cotton, canola seed, sugar cane, sugar beets, squash, peppers & corn. Even worse there are no labeling requirements so that allergic reactions cannot be traced back to the GMO foods. Please watch "The Future of Food" on Hulu dot com for much more information about this unbelievable state of affairs in the USA & other countries.
@voncoolio A study reported in The Journal of the American Medical Association (2003) showed that a diet of soy fiber, protein from oats and barley, almonds, and margarine from plant sterols lowered cholesterol as much as statins, the most widely prescribed cholesterol medicine. Good souces of soy are; tofu, soy milk, or edamame. Redusing cholesterol helps reduce heart disease.
@voncoolio Many soy foods are naturally high in calcium (some fortified with calcium because it is a good source of a particular coagulating agent). In addition, soy also contains magnesium and boron, which are important co-factors of calcium for bone health. Among all cancers, data on soy and prostate cancer seems to be the most promising; many studies support its role in the prevention and possible treatment of prostate cancer.
@voncoolio These are some of the best muscle building foods: Sunflower Seeds for hi protein, Pineapple eaten after workouts supplies the proteolytic enzyme bromelain which acts as an anti-inflammatory promoting the healing of muscle strains it improves symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, bromelain also breaks down the blood-clotting protein fibrin and thins mucus, which benefits asthmatics and people suffering from chronic bronchitis it may also trigger beneficial changes in ...
@voncoolio white blood cells and improve immune function, Edamame Beans supply balanced protiens & all essential amino acids, Olive Oil's monounsaturated fat helps prevent muscle breakdown & protects joints, Broccoli has more Vitamin C than orange juice & boosts DNA repair in cells it helps reduce the risk of heart attack & also conatains as much calcium as a glass of cow's milk & its a great souce of folate to help you produce new cells and it also is a good source of iron, potassium, ...
@voncoolio fiber, and vitamin K - it helps; to build blood to oxygenate your body, assists nerve functions, & maintain proper bone density, - Black or Green Tea's caffeine improves endurance & eases muscle pain also tea gives a bonus of antioxidents & antimicrobials not found in coffee, the curcumin found in the spice Turmeric promotes muscle growth and repair, Ginger alleviates muscle pain, Watercress is high in iron and vitamin C, Quinoa has a balanced amino profile, Kiwi Fruit ...
@voncoolio gives a flavorful boost of vitamin C, Tahini provides zinc needed for cell growth & human protein synthesis, cucumber supplies silica for your growing connective tissues, Almond Nut butter is high in protein & magesium, Papaya contians enzymes to help you absorb nutrients from your food, Wheat germ gives chromium to improve glucose useage, red peppers offer vitamin C, Spirulina has a rich amino acid supply, Lentils, Soy, ...
@voncoolio and Oats are good balanced protein sources, cherry juice reduces muscle pain, Spinach supplies Octacosanol which improves strength and endurance, cabbage helps reduce joint pains.
@voncoolio I still don't know what you're talking about -- because it is obvious that you don't know what you are talking about. I respectfully suggest that you are the one who should "shut up and don't EVER give anyone nutritional advice."
voncoolio sent me the following message: "You are so full of shit. One of the sad people who still believe in man made global warming. You're still stuck in 2002 mate. Silent stupidity can be tolerated, but you won't shut up. You need silencing. Quickly." --- For his benefit and the education of others I will now proceed to expound on the benefits of soy beans and soy products! Enjoy Voncoolio this bean's for you bud! ~8-)) If you want me to be quiet you're better off leaving me alone... grins
@voncoolio The Official Journal Urology (SIU) Reports: The data from this study indicate that a daily diet containing four slices of a bread rich in HT soy grits favorably influences the PSA level and the free/total PSA ratio in patients with prostate cancer. This work provides some evidence to support epidemiologic studies claiming that male populations who consume high phytoestrogen diets have a reduced risk of prostate cancer development and progression.
@voncoolio there were no effects on serum sex hormones, testicular volume, or semen quality. This was deemed the first study to examine the effects of a phytoestrogen supplement on reproductive health in males. (Mitchell et al., Clinical Science 100(6):613-618, 2001 June)
@voncoolio One study result cited by Clare M. Hasler, Ph. D.:
In a recent study looking at soy's affect on reproductive health in healthy males, men given 40 mg of soy isoflavones daily for 2 months (there are 20 mg of isoflavones in 1 cup of soy milk; 38 mg in 1/2 cup of tofu),
@voncoolio carried out by researchers at the University of Minnesota who wrote: “Because of the increasing popularity of soy foods and the availability of isoflavone supplements, there is an important public health need to understand the impact of soy isoflavones on reproductive hormone levels in men.”
@voncoolio support chemoprevention through the promotion of apoptosis in diseased cells. In this study, we discuss the current state of knowledge concerning soybean isoflavonoids, their chemopreventive actions against postmenopausal health problems, cancer, and cardiovascular disease, and also biotechnology approaches toward the enrichment of soybean for isoflavonoid content.
Soybean consumption has been linked to a reduced risk for certain cancers and diseases of old age. The health benefits associated with soybean consumption have been linked to the action of isoflavonoids, the major phenolic phytochemicals found in soybean. Isoflavonoids possess numerous biological activities that may
@voncoolio beneficial effects, which may also include prevention of osteoporosis, a hereditary chronic nose bleed syndrome, and autoimmune diseases. Exposure of soy formula-fed infants to the potential estrogenizing effects of the isoflavones is limited by the first pass effect of the liver following the uptake of isoflavones from the gut. Several mechanisms of action of isoflavones have been proposed-both through estrogen-dependent and estrogen-independent pathways.
@voncoolio has been limited to the 20th century. Heavy consumption of soy in Southeast Asian populations is associated with reduction in the rates of certain cancers and cardiovascular disease. Recent experimental evidence suggests that phytochemicals in soy are responsible for its
@voncoolio From pub med dot gov: Soy is a unique dietary source of the isoflavones, genistein and daidzein. It has been part of the Southeast Asian diet for nearly five millenia, whereas consumption of soy in the United States and Western Europe
@ContaMuir17a Are you serious your doctor told you this? I'm a vegan and a proponent of veganism but I also hold a Doctorate in Biochemistry and a Bachelors in Physiology. I can tell you I have never heard of such a thing. In fact it's ridiculous for a doctor to be saying such things.
@guitarobsessed85 Yes, I'm very my doctor told me this. He has been a doctor for a long time, and I'm certain his doctorate in medicine trumps your bachelors degree in physiology! I suggest you do more research. Soy is bashed by meat companies who see it as a threat to the meat industry. As part of a varied diet it poses no threats, and many benefits. People need to EAT A VARIETY OF FOODS! Just eating one thing, or only a few foods, anything, will eventually be bad for you.
@ContaMuir17a Dietary phytoestrogens, such as found in soy, mildly mimic and sometimes act as antagonists of estrogen, but they are not estrogen. They are also found in Sunflower Flax & Sesame seeds, Multigrain bread, Hummus, Garlic, Mung bean sprouts, Dried dates & apricots, Alfalfa sprouts, Chestnuts, Olive oil, Almonds, Green beans, Peanuts, Onion, Blueberry, Corn, Coffee, & Watermelon among others. The meat industry is responsible for the bad press on soy because it fears its vegan food use.
Will Kevin ever get rid of that annoying car salesman intro???

theres some pretty great ideas in here... diets (no matter what they are) should be based on common sense & just like Robert said, variety and doing it properly. check out my ideas on vegan vs fitness... some interesting things pop up when you let your eyes see them @sheridansmithv and sheridansmith.wordpress. com

Disagree with the eating so many times a day... two meals a day is optimal or three at most if burning a LOT... science and bodily function have demonstrated this. More is a tax on the system.

we all know huge gorillas , its vegan right ?
it eats nothing but leaf and vegetables , but it can catch one of us and throw him 10 miters away
Arajack 11 months ago
@Arajack but people always forget to mention that gorillas eat a HUGE amount of these foods, and they also eats insects ect .gorillas eat massively large amount of raw vegetation, humans have evolved to cook food. it gives us easier access to some of the things in the food. the fact that we have tiny jaws and small teeth when compared to other primates is a good indicator of how we evolved to cook.
SmeagolTheBeagle 11 months ago
@SmeagolTheBeagle THANKS FOR THE REPLAY
Arajack 11 months ago
@SmeagolTheBeagle, most primates, if not all, will hunt meat - at least opportunistically, meaning if an animal is hurt. There is not doubt certain animals can thrive on plant based diets, but to believe eating meat is not natural is playing the fool.
showmetexas 10 months ago
@showmetexas What is natural? What does that even mean?
deefromott 8 months ago
@showmetexas You're the one playing with words here. The point is that the nervous systems of the intelligent animals that we consume regularly (pigs, fish, cows, etc) are quite similar to our own and the ethical reasons should be enough of a reason to switch to vegan (I hate even labeling it) diets. The issue with vegans is the controversy over consuming soy in large amounts. The research goes back and forth and really, at least in my opinion, yet to be concrete. Ethically, vegans are correct.
XforeverlongingX 5 months ago
@XforeverlongingX lol fish and cows are not intelligent animals and clearly you arnt either

ContaMuir17a 1 year ago
@voncoolio from International Bibliographic Information on Dietary Supplements: Soy protein and soy fiber are common ingredients in many foodstuffs. Various kinds of soy protein, including soy flour, soy-protein concentrate, and isolated soy protein, are currently used in human foods. Soy proteins are used in infant formulas and enteral nutrition products, as ingredients in meat products, and as protein supplements.
ContaMuir17a 1 year ago
@voncoolio Although it is a plant protein, the protein quality of soy protein is excellent. Soy fiber is used in enteral nutrition products and some bakery goods. Research shows that soy fiber provides the important health benefits usually associated with dietary fiber, including improved laxation and cholesterol-lowering ability. This review provides background information on soy protein and soy fiber and their use in human foods.

Rotarrius 1 year ago
@Rotarrius What's your age, height and weight? What's your current body fat percentage? Are you an ectomorph endomorph or mesomorph? How many calories are you eating a day on average? About how many calories are you expending each day on average? Have you lost just fat or also muscle mass too? Many guys would like to loose weight easily like you did. I think you might be a younger man, they tend to loose weight quicker when they start eating right. In a few more years you'll wish you could!
ContaMuir17a 1 year ago
@ContaMuir17a im 23, 5 11" and was 11 stone exactly, im an ectomorph. i'm not sure how many calories i was consuming but id have two protein shakes a day made of hemp seeds, two bananas and peanut butter. for lunch id have a huge avacado salad (a whole avocado), then 4 dinner id have a veg shake, spinach, lettuce and carrots! throughout the day i'd have fruits and almonds
Rotarrius 1 year ago
@Rotarrius How much weight is so much weight? How much of the weight you lost was fat?
ContaMuir17a 1 year ago
@Rotarrius Really if you've only been a raw vegan for 2 weeks how much weight could you possibly loose? How much did you weigh before? -- Do you have any health problems? Are you on a diuretic? Other meds? Are you drinking at least 2.5 liters of water a day? Everyday? How many hours are you exercising a day? Beyond a certain point rapid weight loss is not good for your body. But self-perceptions can be deceptive. That's why I'm asking so many questions. Give yourself the factual answers.

Jesus, the saviour of the world ate fish, it should be ok for everyone else.

hahanikka 1 year ago
@hahanikka 80% of the grain produced in USA goes directly to feed animals in slaughterhouses. They are fed 10 times more than what they would normally eat. If there weren't a meat/dairy industry, there would at least be a possibility for the redistribution of these wasted resources. Also, how can't you see anything wrong with forcing a sentient being to be tortured and killed? Other species are not "things", they are not our property, we shouldn't treat them like so.
seymourLlama 1 year ago
@seymourLlama i have a heart for all animals and i would never kill something for sport but if this was the day and times when we didnt have resources like we do and we were basically woodsman i would most definetly hunt deer and such just to survive... as vegans or vegitarians you shouldnt look at people who do eat meat as evil or disgusting people. i am against animal cruelty and inproper manufacturing of animal meat. ive considered being a vegan also
hahanikka 1 year ago
@hahanikka If you are against animal cruelty, then don't support the meat, dairy and egg industries.
seymourLlama 1 year ago
@seymourLlama i agree i dont say i support the meat industry i just eat because thats what ive always done...im pretty sure if i was taught to be a vegan at a younger age i would be more accepting...i just rather not know how they process the food its bad enough the govt lets us eat what we do allready..i can never give up eggs though i love them i love some milk to..i just wish all the process food we eat and throw away could go to the starving in third world countries..im a juicy steak lover:)
hahanikka 1 year ago
@hahanikka If you weren't supporting the meat/dairy/egg industry, you would be vegan because otherwise you are both financially and morally supporting it (you wouldn't consume meat if you thought it was immoral). Animals on dairy and egg farms and on slaughterhouses are killed very prematurely and lived in horrible conditions. What other species do is not relevant at all, other species eat their poop and vomit, rape others and murder others, it doesn't mean we should do it too.

hahanikka 1 year ago
Killing animals doesn't really bother me. I am against treating animals poorly, or torturing them, but killing them and eating them doesn't really bother me. Very few animals are sentient, at least not the way we are. Killing an animal can't be compared to killing a human because animals put no value on life. They aren't self aware.
RaidenTheAlmighty 1 year ago
@RaidenTheAlmighty Animals are self-aware. If you have two dogs and give one of the dogs a treat, the other dog will know it isn't him who got the treat and will want one too. This is self-awareness. They also are just as sentient as us and want to live as much as we do. Animals from the meat industry are killed before they reach their first birthday. Living in fear, knowing you are not going to live for long, is torture in itself. Besides, animals in slaughterhouses aren't treated well at all.
seymourLlama 1 year ago
Dogs are pretty smart but they don't posses the kind of existential thinking that humans do. They don't "want to live" they way we do either. They don't perceive life or death on the same terms as we do.
Animals in the meat industry aren't particularly smart either. They have no idea that they are going to die, so they are hardly living in fear.
RaidenTheAlmighty 1 year ago
@RaidenTheAlmighty What are your sources? Cows in slaughterhouses are in constant pain, be it because they were taken away from their mother within a day or because they can hear the screams of fear of other cows that are being slaughtered in the room next to them. Non human animals are not stupid, they are not unconscious and they don't lack self-awareness. Their brain is a lot like ours, if not exactly the same. They have the same instincts and sensations as us. They are sentient.
seymourLlama 1 year ago
What sources do you have that cows are in constant pain when in a slaughterhouse? And yes, I realize that a lot of slaughterhouses aren't good to animals, but what if I were to raise my own cattle and have them butchered? Is that any different? Many companies are updating their farms to better cared for their livestock. Animals that are healthy and happy are better tasting etc. I understand the circle of life and I don't have moral qualms with it, like you do.
RaidenTheAlmighty 1 year ago
@seymourLlama maybee one day cows will rule the world..all i have to say is what do vegans and what not say about wild animals i.e. lions, tigers and bears..are they supposed to be held accountable for the killing sthey do? i know i dont have a problem with a bear eating a human who walks into thier woods..i think its wrong to kill that bear for being a natural living being . i often watch the discovery channel and think aww what a poor little gazell or wilderbeast..this is life we kill we eat
hahanikka 1 year ago
and also..i hope on everything that they never make eating meat against the law...im more of a beleiver in not killing your own kind...hitler and stalin were good at that..animals are cute and exotic and should be free but its food to humans thats how i see it...if you want to live a healthy lifestyle and be a non meat eater i respect that to each thier own...its a lifestyle but arguing over whats right or wrong about the whole subject is just as redundant as arguing over religion
hahanikka 1 year ago
@RaidenTheAlmighty Also, simply because they possibly don't wonder about existentialism doesn't make it right to deprive them from their life, as we don't kill humans who don't wonder about existentialism, like children or mentally ill people.
seymourLlama 1 year ago
Well, I want to eat them. That more than enough of a reason to kill them.

I got this guys point, I was just making a point of my own because a lot of vegans claim they know how to put on massive amount of weight on their raw diet yet they look like skeletons.
tonyg0123 2 years ago
most of that comes from not eating a diverse diet and eating vegan but too much cooked stuff.

@voncoolio Many soy foods are naturally high in calcium (some fortified with calcium because it is a good source of a particular coagulating agent). voncoolio sent me the following message: "You are so full of shit.
