  • Good work... Can't wait to see the roof done

  • @2cv56 I was hopping to have it done by now and my firewood in for the winter but money is tight right now with x-mass right around the corner

  • @ShawnCFarm Yeah, guess kids and familliy come first ++

  • Any new videos any time soon?

  • @redneckbryon Coming. Just trying to figger out this new computer. It won't let me up load fast. Theres got to be a way to speed it up.

  • I'm itching for some more vids buddy! Yours are on the top of my sub list!

  • @sc0tte1 Thanks my friend, and more to come. I had to buy a new pc when my old one crashed hard. Lost some footage but will have it back soon

  • @ShawnCFarm Right on man! Keep up the great work!

  • You can never have a garage that is high enough, trust me on that.

  • @foxdmulder I hope I don't have to go any higher lol. I'll have to go buy a bigger tractor now to fill it.

  • your sound is great but if you don't like he wind noise get one of those small round bandaids and put the padded part centered over the microphone. Tell me how it works man.

  • @JimmyRayhere I was going to buy an external mic for it but never got around to it yet lol

  • Cool . Looks good so far.

  • @gumper5242 Thanks

  • A John Deere 40U! That is a great tractor!!

  • @epiphaknee Its a 1954 40u with loader and trip bucket. I hope to restore it some day

  • cool, It's gonna be huge!

  • @Fearlessfront Thanks. I really need the space. Once I get the roof on I can fill it with firewood, or move all my stuff into it then fill the old shop with wood

  • Shawn, NEVER EVER use a cut off wheel on it's side. I think you know that, as you commented on it. Those shards come off at a high speed and the cutoff wheels were NEVER designed for this use. I've been through abrasive training and this was a HUGE bullet point.

  • @4gasem Ya I know and I could feel it on the gloves. I couldn't find my grinding disks anywhere.

  • @ShawnCFarm You know what you need Shawn? One of those vinyl garages to put your vehicles so that you can clean out your garage and organize it. Shelves for all your tools and supplies and such... Oh wait... lol

  • @4gasem Hahaha this will be cheaper and last alot longer and is alot bigger.

  • Can't wait to see how this turns out!

  • @perioslo me to lol

  • It's going to be so much nicer for you to work on cars outside now. Around where I live, there's too much wind to have faith in this kind of structure, but it looks good for where you are, and it's sheltered in the trees. Would you think about pouring a pad?

  • @spelunkerd We have alot of wind here as well in the fall and spring. We will see how it holds up. I'm saving my money to pour a bigger pad next summer, well I hope

  • thats pretty big :)

seal it up good and put a barrel stove in it .

might hold enough heat in winter to work

on stuff comfortably . not to mention melt the snow

off roof , thumbs up buddy

  • @500passwords Thanks 500. I ran out of beer

  • Looks good, you should put more cross supports in, just to help with the snow weight.

Do you live near a school? I think I hard kids in the background.

  • @redneckbryon I just thought about putting a wire from side to side. No school near hear just my kids lol

  • @ShawnCFarm Do you have a farm-park load of kids, lol

  • man, I need one of those!

  • @kortt hahaha so did i

  • When I was in college, one night somebody jumped up on the roofs of the parked cars and ran along them. My '78 Honda Civic had a big dent. I just gave it a good bang from the inside with my fist and it popped back out!

The new mustang right beside me had a serious repair bill :p

  • @SeanMacLennan Its kind of funy how when you don't give a shit about your car that nothing ever happens to it

  • Whatever you use for a roof, make sure it can support the snow.

  • @mdk70454 I think I'm going to use bail wrap. The snow will have a hard time sitting on it

  • geotect cloth or landscape cloth stops sweating and than a tarp

  • @grumpydumper cool

  • Great vid! Whats the story on that path finder? Looks like a plow set up almost on the front of it

  • @kohnal Ya its my plow truck I got for 100 bucks. I pulled the frame out of it last year. Its in some videos of last winter

  • @ShawnCFarm 100 bucks for a plow truck nice. Thanks for the idea about the cheap garage lol

  • Nice bud. Should work good. One that big would cost a fortune...

  • @IHcubcadet Right around 2500 I'm told lol

  • another good vid

  • @brewzur Thanks my friend

  • looks good gonna put a wood stove in it? i see a good idea wrap copper pipe around i the stove pipe and use a car rad and fan old coolent to help heat it up

  • @chevydiesel350015 Not sure if I'll bother to heat it as it started out being a wood shead and a place to keep my tractor out of the rain.

  • That's DEFINITELY cheap. Way to go man!

I priced out framing an 18x24. With insulated garage and entry doorways, no windows, insulation and no siding. It came to $1300 in materials, delivered. Keep in mind it still requires a poured slab, but that included the roof and electrical. It's just like the one I have now, which I think you've seen plenty of?

But $50!? Holy G's. You kicked my frugal ass.

  • @Jafromobile I got most of it for free soo..... lol. I can still go and buy more hoops from where my buddy got them for 10 to 20 bucks a peace

  • Where is part 1?

  • @JamesReadythe5th Its here. I'll try the old video responce on it for ya

  • @ShawnCFarm There try that ~S~

  • I love your redneck ladder lol.

  • @photosbychristensen I was going to use the wifes car but she caught me lol

  • great video looking foreward to seeing what you cover it with

  • @chox2001 Part 3 comming soon I hope

  • nice Vid :)

  • @SaxInThaCity Thnaks my friend

  • Yup. need to see a video of that 40U..

  • @CDNBadass I should pull the starter off it soon and get her going as its been sitting to long now. I'll be sure to show everyone when I do it

  • lookin good!!!! What stihl chainsaw is that?

  • @2LateIWon Thats my brothers old 034. Its cut alot of would. We got it back in the 80's and its cut about 8 cords of wood or more every winter. Its in some of my other videos

  • @ShawnCFarm it sounds great!!! I just bought a ms250c-be It came in today and I want to go play with it but my wife will be home soon and we will go out trick or treating.......hummm I can still use it with out the chain mwahahaha!!!! LOL

  • white shrink wrap or bail wrap is an excellent idea, it will let a lot of light in and its super stong, not the cheapest but probably the most cost efective. anyway, i'm really happy for you, its going to be so nice to get in out of the rain.

  • @dirtTdude That bail wrap on the other tractor will not let any light through as its black on the other side. I'm going to check prices on the srink wrap as I think thats pro the best way to go. thanks for that idea.

  • Check out farmtek and buy a good tarp. They have all sizes.

  • @farmboy30117 I was thinking about a big bail tarp, but might go with srink wrap they put on boats for the winter

  • I like your vids, i wish i had more land. My garage is stuffed! lol

  • @mopardodge00 hahaha I think alot of people are in the same boat and thanks bro

  • if you had some alumium roofing sheets you could put that as a roof and tarps as the walls it would stand up better to the snow then a tarp roof.

  • @wildcat2087 I worried about the weight it can hold, so the lighter the better. I like the shrink wrap they use on boats. Have to check prices

  • @ShawnCFarm if the alumium roof was 24" W x 8' L only need maybe one or two at the point of the roof on each side so that would only be about 20 lbs to 40 lbs. i wish i could draw it out but my web cam broke

  • lol now you can hang lights in there and work on stuff inside

  • @wildcat2087 I might end up working in there, it started out as a wood shed and a place to keep my tractor out of the rain lol

  • Ooops I guess you DID get cars dumped on you to fix. Simply put your tongue at the top of your mouth forming your mouth in the "O" position and repeat after me, ""NO"...."NO" See how easy that is. LOL

  • @talfacprez hahahaha. It just depends on who is asking

  • Wow you finally had a weekend when you didn't have someone dump a broken car on you to fix. Congradulations.

  • @talfacprez Yup but might be more on the way lol. I want to do a few more fun videos first lol

  • I like the approach of putting it in the trees. Good wind barrier, aye?

Downside maybe? Lots of down limbs, leaves and debris from the trees.

What are your thoughts? Interested to see the covering vid.

  • @gloorbit Well the pine tree won't be to much of a problem. The other side is oak trees. I already got rid of some of that maple tree so it would not fall on it. I'm hopping the oaks will not be to much of a problem. The wind here comes from the east and west mostly, and hopping the pines will block most of that.

  • looks good!

  • @swss12 Its getting there

  • i hate those types... always the roof gives..

  • @thestuffz I'm just worry about the snow load is all

  • @ShawnCFarm I see a ton of the store bought ones come out in the fall to the landfill.. all i can say is MAKE IT STRONG!! and supports everywhere! i guess the main reason they fail is that its thin wall tubing and they always buckle at the joins.

  • @thestuffz That and the coverings rip all the time. I'm hopping this thing is strong enuff.

  • Looking good, good luck with putting the cover on. Take care.

  • @ewtoutdoors I hope to have it done soon

  • Good job Shawn.

  • @MrLeonard55 Thanks bro

  • Backyard custom 2-post lift video next? Lol, j/k. Great vid, man!

  • @XXXBootstrap I could make a pit in it lol. But I can't swim that welll

  • part 2 went pretty good. Part 3 should be interesting

  • @WhackTheWax I hope it will be, and I hope to make that one as soon as I can

  • I want to see that deere!

  • @travisjeanelle I might do a video on it soon as I need to remove the starter

  • awe-mazing video dude

  • @marsL001 Thanks my friend

  • great job we have one made of glass no heat dont need it even in the winter

  • @snowman3700 I should have put it where the sun could have gotten at it, but can move it lator if I want

  • Will the snow load be a factor? The Fall and the Spring gives us a problem with the wet snow wanting to rip through the top.

  • @Uticagreens It might be a problem so what I put up there must be light and cheap

  • Shawn, I'd use the corragated fiberglass siding. That way you can make good out of the natural lighting. The siding comes in green or white.

  • @januaryman169 That could work but don't really want to drill anymore holes in the pipe as I don't want to weaken it

  • @ShawnCFarm

You could use some small u-bolts to hold them on, but then that might get a little pricey.

  • That should work out good.

  • @satajet883 I'm hopping so

  • looking good

  • @ShnitzlHaus Thanks and more to come

  • Great vid man! Marty

  • @martian953 Thanks Marty

  • @ShawnCFarm HEY SHAWN you gonna get this finnished before fall buddy

  • its not to high your just planing for when you get a lift lol

  • @topfireman I was thinking about that, Its almost high enuff

  • It's coming along real nice. Looks good.

  • @DarkWoods100 Thanks my friend

  • corrugated steel sheeting would make a great roof and sides

  • @madmike1981 It would be good but I'd have find some for really cheap

  • Thats cool man. keep the snow off ur stuff.

  • @TheBrokemechanic It will be nice to have the tractor out of the rain for once

  • yea but then if you say no to people you don't get money to do your own stuff either lol

  • @lincolnmaniac This is ture, its all a balancing act.

  • my friend got one from his brother and it was $2400 new so I was told yours looks about the same in size.

  • @kowyn2 Sweet

  • you need to find some lumber wrap now

  • @boardingpass04 I was thinking about house wrap

  • @ShawnCFarm ya that to its pretty close to same stuff anyway both work good you will have to build it so you can roll up the sides in the summer and light in and keep it closed it winter to keep snow out but looks good man cant wait to see it finished

  • Not too high at all, better to have more space than too less space.

  • @Bikeman1087 This is very ture. Now i get to go buy a bigger tractor lol

  • looks good

  • @naterichardson101 Thanks my friend

  • Can you use T-11 siding.

  • @mrcaymanislands1 Maybe, it dose have to be light

  • The hight is not bad at all, you can never have enough space, I would use somecovering that would let light true it on top.

  • @happymark1805 It just means I get to buy a bigger tractor lol

  • @ShawnCFarm LOL and then you have to make an even bigger garage LOL

  • Holy cheez man u plannin on prkin a big rig in there Shawn good job man and great vid thanx for sharin brother regards Shane

  • @wazclan1964 Thanks Shane, I think I made it abit to high lol, but it will work.
