Anyone who believes in God, should also know, that God gave us the intellect and wisdom to know when to see a doctor. After all, God also gave man the intelligence to learn, administer and treat certain ailments and disease i.e. Luke was also a physician by profession.
To witness one of your own children to lay there and suffer with great pain is heinous to say the least.

@TheOpenMinded12460 If this was cult was doing child marriage, Bi-sexual Polygamy, marrying children and marrying their own kids that would not be legal. Why should this be legal?
@TheDeistAngle I agree, that's about the same sentence you'd get for car theft or shoplifting!
What is it when some cult or religion is involved whether it be pedophile Catholic priests or crackpot faith healers Judges are reluctant to lock these people away for a long time.
@shaunasuz doctors are a cult. Fuking witch doctors that kill thousands of patients with their deadly pharm drugs. Hospitals are criminal institutions & cesspools of disease. Most modern doctors know crap about nutrition and are forbidden to say they can cure anybody.. quacks. The only thing so called modern medicine is good for is mechanical things like fixing bones. I wouldn't go to your precious quacks for anything other than safe dental or fixing broken bones if you paid me 100,000 dollars.
Where will you go to when you die? Have you ever told lies, stolen, used God's name in vain, or looked at someone with lust? If yes, then you are a lying, theiving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart. When you die & stand before God you'll be guilty of breaking His law. The bible says you'll end up in Hell! So God sent God His Son Jesus to die for your sins, & was resurrected on the third day. If you'll believe the Gospel(Jesus died for your sins & was resurrected) you'll be saved!
Jail these people and torch the church. What a waste of a poor young mans life. He was not allowed medical treatment to save his life because of his parents moronic beliefs. The same thing happened to the boy's cousin. What a shame. Everyone is entitled to their beliefs, but others shouldnt have to die for them.
Honestly, I don't believe this had ANYTHING to do with beliefs and much less "moronic beliefs" as you have suggested. It was peer pressure from a controlling cult that demands they follow what they (man) say and if not the will be shunned from family. It's interesting how we quickly dismiss something based from our bias views. I believe there is something terribly wrong with this church and it's a cult, but I know that God does heal with true faith because I know people that have received it
@imthenoid69 Agreed. There is a difference between having faith and being a fucking moron.
My fiance is a Weslian(while I may disagree with religion as a whole due to being atheist, I respect her choice to believe what ever she wishes).. but she STILL GOES TO THE FUCKING DOCTOR WHEN SHE GETS SICK.
These deaths were entirely preventable. Shame the punishment for the parents is so light.
Hmmm, this is sad. However, I strongly disagree with the assumptions that this "proves" religion to be false. Scripture doesn't just say lay hands and they will be healed. There are TONS of scriptures that say we must first obey God. The world is fallen and illness is part of it. I think the family here wasn't walking with Christ. They were following a church and it's teacher, not Christ. They were probably also walking in faith that they didn't have. This happened to the disciples.
Not at all saying we shouldn't go to the doctors btw. Just saying that it's not as black and white as you would like it to be. I know of people that prayed for healing for years and didn't receive UNTIL they for themselves studied scripture and allowed it to change their hearts which caused them to repent, forgive people that may of hurt them in their past etc. Then they were healed. So, you see...there is much more to it than just praying and sadly most people only go to church on Sunday.
I believe that everyone has a right to practice their faith, so long as doing so causes no harm to human life or well-being. Those children have no control over their parent's choices.
Personally, I think organized religions are man-made and only serve to control groups of superstitious people.. Rational people need to step in a protect these children-
Let the adults of this group die off from lack of medical care..
Not only to control those superstitous people but to make money off of them also, religion is a business like any other, except they dont have to pay taxes
Organized religion is man-made, but it does not reflect the truth and divine touch of the original scriptures. Careful not to throw the baby out with the bath water.
Religion is not man-made. There is a God, however I do not belong to this faith, nor do I condone it. Our Heavenly Father gave us our own moral agency so we can grow, and become better people to return to live with him again. He expects us to have faith in him, and then he expects us to exercise common sence, and make the right choices. It says in the Bible faith without works is dead, so that means that if you are sick you will have faith that he will help you get the proper medical care.
I belong to the church Of Jesus Crist Of Latter Day Saints, and my mom had a blessing in our church that said that she would regain her sight after she went blind in 1999, and two years later her sight was completely, and totally back, but in order to keep her sight, and her health, she goes and sees a doctor, and othromologist frequently. She uses medication for her health, and eyedrops for her sight. Our Heavenly expects her to use common sence, and seek the medical care she needs.
What most people fail to realize about groups like this is that physical life isn't important. Following God's law is more important than following man's law. Where some see neglect, others see faith. They are ridiculed because they have firm enough convictions to hold on to those beliefs.
I understand why people feel the way they do about this group, but examine both sides before passing judgment. They aren't killing anyone. They are putting their lives in their God's hands.
Faith doesnt heal people, and now the parents are paying for it. How many children have to die before you come to your senses, god doesnt work past the creation. He put everything in our hands and its up to us, what do you think free will is, if god saves peoples lives then he would save people from murderers, cancer, aids, not just pick a few kids to save and let millions others die, use your brain. Thats if there is a god, im still uncertain, i need proof, not a book written by man
How are all of these people not in jail for murder? Are they using a time machine to ship judges and jurys in from the dark ages to try these cases?
If your actions kill your kids, its murder. If adults want to pray themselves to death I'm completely fine with it, were better off without them, but when they kill their kids, they should get the chair.
You see the difference between the Travoltas and this family, In this case you see the religion and the family as neglectful here, and in the Travoltas and Scientology they brush it away.
This is like reason number 12 why I'm an Atheist. In no particular order, there are dozens of reasons, and it's mind-numbing how so many Christians just don't care about this happening. That'd be number 13.
this story is so sad. one because if the persons family believed in god why they did not believe god had provided a medical cure for them . when a medical cure appears for any disease we should be thankfull to god for that and for those who have spent their lives to find cures . we should thank god for them. ive been a christian 20 years and i will say i have seen few healings and many failures. i conclude that gods divine power is very very hard to access. people need to know that the reality.
I quote you "when a medical cure appears for any disease we should be thankfull to god"
eh????thankful to a imaginary being........let me give you a quick example ...smallpox...killed hundreds of miilions...no god healed or made anything to cure them.....the only one who eradicated smallpox was man himself out of pure hardwork ...Infact science has doubled your lifespan..thus improving on any designer you are referring to....(cont)
@devante11 does science cure everyone ? ive seen healings with my own eyes by faith in the name of jesus. look at "miracle Healing -a man walks away from a wheelchair" posted by styles 154 . for an example caught on camera!
Science doesnt heal everyone, but it does a far better attempt and suceeds, than any imaginary god or gods can
smallpox one of mans biggest killers...killed hundreds upon hundreds of millions of children, babies and adults.....it wasnt until the advancements of medical science and science that man created out of painstakely researching and finally eradicated smallpox....and your imaginary god just looked on
Or how about science doubling your lifespan..your living longer than you ever have. How about glasses and cateract operations.Early detecting of cancers and diseases so they can be caught early, treatments to control diabetes .My list is just endless
And all you come back with is a guy walks away from a wheelchair LMAO ever heard of misdiagnosis?
I like how discredit all man achievements
I could just come back with how about all those that have died in a wheelchair?
@jasmilchrale If that guy really was properly diagnosed and really just healed, it probably was not a miracle, if anything it was a lucky coincidence or very good treatment. Most likely misdiagnosis.
Next argument: Great, one guy got healed. Millions upon millions of others don't. So one guy getting lucky and surviving supposedly because he prayed means it will work for everybody? I don't think so, not from what I've seen.
@jshec28 firstly ive shown you a miracle but your hard heart cannot except it because if you do you will have to except you are a sinner theres a god in heaven and your in trouble . so you make up a story in your mind so you can continue in your sin , and not repent. ]
ive seen healings with my own eyes not that you will except my word no doubt. but your comment about the boat is true, the cure was there they did not recieve it . because it didnt look divine .
@jasmilchrale Ok, "firstly", learn English and maybe I'll take your post remotely seriously. Second, don't just assume something about me, you don't have a clue who I am so you can't possibly know if I'm a "sinner". I happen to come from a religious background that doesn't dwell on all the negatives like Christianity (what i've noticed is especially Catholicism) does, we don't even believe there is a Hell, so while there is sin, we don't focus very heavily on it.
@jasmilchrale Also, I happen to be a realist. There is such a widespread knowledge of the human body and how it works, and there is so little proof that anything in the bible actually happened, that it only makes sense that I think of the bible as more of a guide. It's a nice rulebook. But even in medicine faith is important-- it's kind of like a placebo effect: People believe they will get better, and because of the lower level of stress their bodies can focus on getting better.
@jshec28 of course my psychology theory is only a theory, nobody really knows exactly why people get better when they think they are getting better, especially since people who are actually diagnosed can not be considered hypochondriacs.
@jasmilchrale Let me also add this story: There was a great flood, and a man was sitting on his roof, praying to God that he would be rescued. A man in a boat came by and offered help, but the man said "no, God will save me." So the boat went away. Next a helicopter came, but the man still refused. Finally another boat came by and the man still refused. The man eventually died, and when he asked God why he didn't save him God said "I sent two boats and a helicopter! You passed!"
@jshec28 moral of the story is this: If you really want to look at it from a religious point of view, maybe think of it as God gave scientists the capacity to find cures to illnesses, so medicine can be holy. If there really is a divine plan, then the treatment will either work or it won't.
Then again, I'd go with something I can quantify over an invisible guy who I have no contact with any day.
@th3w01fv2@TheOpenMinded12460 Child Marriage, and Polygamy will put you in Prison but, not this? (sarcastic) That makes sense. They won't allow Child Marraige but, they'll allow neglect.

Yet another proof of Religion being nothing more but a mental illness.

@th3w01fv2 @TheOpenMinded12460 Child Marriage, and Polygamy will put you in Prison but, not this? (sarcastic) That makes sense. They won't allow Child Marraige but, they'll allow neglect.
