I sincerely do not understand how this band and especially this song, garners any attention. I'm convinced that the explanation is just herd mentality/the ever-puzzling human psychological condition. A few people decide something is cool and everyone jumps on board arbitrarily, like a riot. It is decided that Yo La Tengo is hip and nobody better contest that.
