Someone needs to track down all the people (protesters and nonprotesters) who were terrorized by cop thugs and compile all the eyewitness testimony into a single database. A video or audio archive needs to be made of this. It's too important, and needs to be done while witness memory is still fresh.
What adds to the ridiculousness of all this is that no-one knows what she was protesting about.. This story of the "trauma" that she endured (boo hoo) has overshadowed the reason she was there in the first place. Kind of makes her initial efforts null & void doesn't it?

It is not up to you to determine how valid her experience of trauma is or isn't -- the officers who groped her breasts and genitals committed a crime, but of course will not pay for it because they can plausibly say that they were frisking her and it was all in the course of doing their jobs. Still far from excellent, but infinitely better than attacking the poor, which the G8 still espouses.

A video or audio archive needs to be made of this. It's too important, and needs to be done while witness memory is still fresh.

It is not up to you to determine how valid her experience of trauma is or isn't -- the officers who groped her breasts and genitals committed a crime, but of course will not pay for it because they can plausibly say that they were frisking her and it was all in the course of doing their jobs. I have been frisked, and it didn't involve groping me.

Argentina went completely bankrupt in the 80's (i think) and it was their citizens who saved the economy by pumping capital and re-investing their income too keep nations industries afloat. Maybe 3rd world should study this model? Better yet go there yourself and work on their problems.

@philip1967ful I lived there,but the big crisis hit in 2001,and was a result of over ten years of being the IMF's"model economy"applying all its austerity and privatisation measures.The government has been bringing the country out of the crisis by ensuring the economy is supported from the ground up -that people have jobs/income to buy stuff and have the economy rolling. Still far from excellent, but infinitely better than attacking the poor, which the G8 still espouses.

@philip1967ful Yes, that's what you said but I specified the big crisis was actually in the year 2001.There was a lesser financial crisis in the 80s also, under the country's bloodiest dictatorship,supported by the benevolent/charitable/paternal(etc.)US gov.(as well as other 'Western' governments).
