@77hulkhogan Also not as safe.We were hunting a small bit a land, and it was not safe to fire a rifle on a flat trajectory. Tree stand hunting is the safest way to hunt while using a rifle b/c the bullet is traveling at a downward trajectory, so if i missed the bullet would hit the ground and not someones house.

@jhanshans yes i am a big guy, but i look really fat here because it was 5 degrees that morning in Florida. So needless to say i had like 5 layers on and looked like i was going to pop. Also deer in Florida are smaller than most of the country. In Florida that doe was a big doe. Our deer maybe small but our hogs are huge. We are currently on the trail of a 400+ lbs grey boar that we will kill in the month.

@ckfalcon99 Too much velocity. The bullet is traveling nearly 3000 miles per hour when it hits its target (with 7mm mag). The tissue is torn but little energy is dumped. For a clean, one shot, knock 'em off their feet hunting cartridge, you need a blunt bullet at a moderate velocity. That's why traditional muzzle loaders firing big, pure lead bullets at 1100 fps will take a deer right down. The old cartridges like 45-70, 44-40 and 40-60 will do the same.

@IsMackinac well even though your velocity is a bit over dramatized lol(its still going pretty damn fast lol....but not not quite 3000 mph fast) and that makes sense. but i shot a deer with a .50 cal muzzy and the SOB ran nearly 600 yds. when we found her3 hours later she was still breathing.........heart shot...... im not sure how it was possible but it happened so i just gained a whole new appreciation for those animals

@JustAHP because the actual size of there brain is very very small, and especially with them moving there heads while eating, its makes it evan harder. it it so easy to miss and blow off there jaw and starve to death painfully 2 weeks later. its never worth the risk.

30-30's r a sweet gun out to 300 yards with scope. i have 1 and is great marlin mod 30 with buck horn sites and a strong scope and it is sweet
