Dude in this notice CAPO on 1st fret. it changes the way he plays it. The real tuning is tuned a half step down. But with the Capo on it's like playing it in standard.

a d chord is xx0232 and that is what i play, you have to remember that there is a capo on the first fret, which moves everything up a fret, you have to play the chords relative to the capo or they will not be correct

if you don't have the capo you have to play barre chords which are more difficult for a beginner on an acoustic

its a barre chord which means your pointer finger covers the bottom 5 strings all across the 2nd fret, the other fingers then take care of the other numbers

i hated the bm barre as a beginner, if you got too much trouble with it, then play an am shape at the 3rd fret covering the low E and A with the thumb. you can also place your index finger at the first string 2nd fret like: 004432, a small b mino , hope it helps;-)
