Life would be so much easier if CPA exam scores were available instantly (which is not impossible as only BEC has a written portion). That helps avoid a situation in which one for instance, one takes the REG section & moves on to FAR... Only to find out that he didn't pass REG (like 8 weeks later) & has forgotten much of that info! NASBA, AICPA, whoever, needs to step into the 20th century & start returning scores within days, not months!
@vba4accountants : I've been studying Regulation for a while. The Becker software worked well for me in AUD. Now in REG, it's a frustrating process. The questions take longer, I end up forgetting things, and there never seem to be enough hours in the day. My biggest mistake: Not studying with someone!
@ArabAmerican79 I know how u freel bro! it's a never ending story! I'm using becker on business law, i think that is worse than taxation! well just keep studying your brains out until you know u can pass it the first time. when its over its over baby!
I was looking at the fees. It said that the license fee is $377, application fee is $125. What I really want to know is each test is about $200 dollars - do you have to pay for all of these test at once or can you pay for each one at a time.
After a month I did it again. I kept track of the questions I missed, and a month later I answered only the questions I missed. When I answered those correctly twice in a row I eliminated those questions. Two weeks before the exam I aquired a copy of the previous exam and averaged 97% and a minute a question.
What I did was get the Gleim book which had hundreds of test questions from previous exams. I went through each section of questions and kept a record of the questions I missed without writing in the book. The first time I did it I averaged 60% and five minutes a question.
As someone who passed all four parts of the exam in 1980 (86,86,80,and 77) I can say with authority there is a much better way to pass the exam than what was shown here. You have to spend many hours to accomplish this. See next post
I like your videos, they are short and to the point, and I think very encouraging. I guess I'm one of the people that took the CPA exam back in the 'old school' days that (and one of your commenters) refer to, when it was a manual test (not computerized) and we literally had to bring posterboard to lean on lest we get splinters from the tables set up at at the county fair location where hundreds of people took the exam. Good job providing basic tips for someone thinking abt sitting for the exam!
If you don't already know this stuff you're obviously not serious about becoming a CPA. A better title for this video would be I don't know where to find a treadmill help me.
OMG im taking the review now and still so hard to pass the preboard exam given... for now im still taking review hopefully nexy year i can pass the board exam..
Hmm... interesting. Thanks for these great advice. Just one question though, you mentioned that we need to meet the educational requirement and work experience in order to take the exam. But I thought we only needed to satisfy the education requirement then we can sit for the exam, and once we pass it we will then have to gain the associated experience in order to be licensed.
lol this is worse advice than ehow.com

Some of the "horror stories" involve taking the test on a picnic table, haha. I guess we have it good now.
